Wrapped up Schedule 1 a few nights ago, overall not a bad game, it more than delivers in its current early access state, money well spent, just a rather disappointing ending to the main story so far, we were gearing up for a fight with the rival cartel with all that build-up, but it ended rather disappointingly.

Next up? Maybe the Toxic Commando demo, which will drop next week.

I did indeed spend Tuesday playing Menace. Really nice game. Slick and intuitive interfaces, lovely animations, and shooting big gribbly monsters with anti-tank missiles is amazingly satisfying

Difficulty scale is real. Something marked as hard is actually hard. I made the mistake of thinking I could easily breeze through an assault on a fortified location, and I have been swiftly disabused of that notion.

I'm looking forward to seeing the transition from standard "peacekeeping" activities to "what the hell???"

So through general foolishness I managed to lose my APC, but have just bought a new one through success against the rag-tag pirate faction. And now it has a laser cannon, ho ho ho.

Turns out that tripod mounted grenade launchers are particularly brutal. Who would have thunk it!

However now some of the regular army units seem to be rebelling and need put in their places, so I guess the difficulty will jump up a notch.

I've also been playing quite a bit of menace. I'm in a very mech heavy run, with 2 MBTs clearing the road for my foot troops. It seems that everytime I relax and think I've got this, a flamethrower tank will run around the corner and kill an entire squad.

It is delightful!

I haven’t hit proper tanks yet. Making do with the IFV and a prompt mech with a laser cannon

I get the feeling I will be rolling the mechanised way as well though.

The auto grenade launcher is a bit of an auto winner so far. Long range, good damage, no LOS needed, cover not so helpful.

I've been really, really impressed with upgrading Pike and removing his special- the things his squad can do with just Crowbars are unspeakable. And it isn't especially useful in the short term, but give Carda Healing and watch her AP snowball like crazy.

I haven't played around too much with vision yet, that definitely seems like an avenue worth exploring!

Began a new campaign of Rogue Trader Warhammer 40,000, having a lot of fun, actually. RPing a character more like myself, so not a pure Iconoclast point chaser, which is going to be the same ending, though...

Naturally, I called him Attelus Kaltos, and chose Blade Dancer, which is a class very much not like him as they do all the flips and stuff. Too late to change, though, lol.

"The best way to lie is to tell the truth." Attelus Kaltos.
My story! Secret War
After his organisation is hired to hunt down an influential gang leader on the Hive world, Omnartus. Attelus Kaltos is embroiled deeper into the complex world of the Assassin. This is the job which will change him, for better or for worse. Forevermore. Chapter 1.

The Angaran Chronicles: Hamar Noir. After coming back from a dangerous mission which left his friend and partner, the werewolf: Emilia in a coma. Anargrin is sent on another mission: to hunt down a rogue vampire. A rogue vampire with no consistent modus operandi and who is exceedingly good at hiding its tracks. So much so even the veteran Anargrin is forced into desperate speculation. But worst of all: drive him into desperate measures. Measures which drives Anargrin to wonder; does the ends, justify the means?

Just one more purge of alien critters and I can start investigating the weird stuff in Menace. Running a little armoured company now. 2 IFVs and a mech with a couple of squads of infantry to provide spotting.

The combination of target designator and ATGMs is amazing.

First engagements against the titular bad guys in Menace. It’s nice. They are a step up in danger individually, but they have a distinct operating mechanic that can exploited so they are meaningfully different to the 3 factions I’ve been fighting so far. Still hugely enjoying the game. However I am regretting blowing all my cash on a fancy rifle just before the next tier of vehicles became available. There is a heavy mech just sitting on the black market calling to me

Got the urge for turn base tactics after I saw the Warhounds ad on one of my socials feeds, so I went back to Chaos Gate : Demonhunters until that’s released.

Such a great game, and pretty damn difficult even at normal difficulty. Got 3 solid squads of various classed Grey Knights, Castellan Crowe, the Dreadnaught and a Vindicare Assassin as I hit mid game. Just need to get a Chaplain, Librarian and my own Purifier(Crowe’s talents come prebuilt) and I’ll have the whole gang assembled.

Right now I messed up my dialogue with the Grand Master and he’s punished me by not allowing me to get newer high level items when I complete missions, but I’ll be able to splurge once that lockdown ends as I have so much requisition banked up.

Wish this game got more love.

Oh yeah D2 is good at sucking you right in. Super fun even after all these years. I really should not reinstall that.

In an effort to detangle myself from Runescape, I've jumped back into Hollowknight. I finally managed to beat the Watcher Knights and knock off Lurien the Watcher. So that's all 3 Dreamers done now, so I can go crack open the giant black egg and see what's what.
Still haven't had any luck beating the traitor lord yet, but I think I may have figured out a strategy for him. I'll have to try it when I get home from work.

Played a few hours of new resident evil, I’m a little rusty but I’m surprised how often I get jumped.

It really reminds me of playing the first and second a lot, which the recent remakes didn’t hit like for me. So I’m really enjoying it. Will possibly finish tomorrow unless it’s a longer one.

Was also trying to finish code vain 2 before today, but I failed and I can’t resist resident evil.

Menace as well. It's funny, they're either really easy to farm with their overload mechanic, or brutally wiping squads immediately. You have to really keep on your guard with them. Vehicle mortars have been less than effective for me, but I am loving the crocodile anti-material rifle. Darby is deleting anything less sturdy than a heavy tank from across the map.

just finished up a play-through of Sandland the other day. had a lot of fun with it, getting to build and customize all the vehicles was neat, only real negative was that i didn't particularly enjoy the stealth bits you sometimes had to do.
Haven't fully decided what will be next up, maybe something thats a bit more traditional jrpg

Resident evil actually had me spooked, it’s been a long while since the series really had my heart racing.
Still not sure I’m ready to finish it 100% yet. The slower walking fits the game, but it’s a bit of a pain searching everywhere at a slight jog.

Well I beat Hollowknight. My plan for the Traitor Lord didn't work as I'd hoped (clinging to the wall and letting Cloth beat him up), but I ended up getting him done in the end. Just gotta keep hitting him with the Sharp Shadow charm.
White palace was sort of tedious even though it was quite straightforward. The Kingsoul charm was useful, but a bit expensive at 5 notches.
I was a little bit let down by the final boss. I didn't struggle with him at all, which given how much grief both the traitor lord and watcher knights gave me, seemed a touch anti-climactic.

Ended up finishing at 92% and 41hrs.

Also made a start on Requiem and damn, it's good after a slow start. I went in with zero expectations and avoiding all of the trailers, not disappointed.

With regards to the first person versus third person, it's a nice blend of the two, with the first person parts being more focused on the scares and survival, movement feels more ponderous and slow, while third person gives you great action-oriented segments that almost feel like a means of blowing off some steam and paying the enemy back for the scares haha!

Grace has to hide and fight for survival, meanwhile Leon just rolls his shoulders and spinkicks the first zombie he sees into next week.

The first person is slightly slower and usually they go for more atmospheric and lots of little details to look at. But this one you can actually play the entire game in ether, which each character being designed for it. I end up playing most of the game 3rd person as I just enjoy it more for basically all horror, but you could play it all first if you wanted too.
Grace they intend to be first person, so she gets slower spooky section. Leon third so is more action sections of the game.

I didn't realise the game had both modes. That's really cool. Probably gives you a decent amount of replayability too, doing both story lines in FPS/3rd Person. Can you alternate between modes on the fly or are you locked into one per playthrough?
Nice to hear it doesn't lack the creep factor. It's always a worry they'll tone down the horror elements to appeal to a wider market, so i'm glad that they're keeping it true to RE form.

You can swap any time, and set up individually to the character. The default is Leon third person and grace first person. It’s really cool.
Resident evil has been going more horror recently, after a few games that where a bit more action or a bit too silly to feel the tone. 5 and especially 6 got too silly to the point even if something was horror you just laughed it off.

I repeat some info again since brain is slow and I’m eating a bowl of fruit that’s really good.

First zombie I encountered as Leon, I shot out the knees and tried to see if he would suplex it, but alas, just kicks and really, really over the top finishing animations. If you're close to a wall or other piece of environment he incorporates it into a nice unique finisher. Also, Leon having an axe that upon losing durability isn't lost but can simply be sharpened with a large whetstone is such a hilarious addition.

The game is good on the horror and while sometimes predictable, it really delivers on the atmosphere and delivery, but still has these moments that made me go "Seriously? Seriously?! Right, this is a Resident Evil game after all.."

Discovered Hammerting in my GOG library (don't remember buying it, must have been a freebie or on a silly-cheap offer) and thought I'd give it a go. In short - love it. Like a cross between Terraria and Dwarf Fortress. Build a dwarf mountain hold, fight monsters roaming in the depths, gather resources and craft stuff, and trade with the outside world. It's a bit rough around the edges but very charming.
