Just started and finished Brothers: A tale of two sons in one sitting.

Easily best game of the year and one of the best games I have ever played. Seriously people, you have to play this one.

GTA online, probably better stop, it's pretty addicting. I've just lost three days to it. There's a couple things that are pretty annoying but on the whole it's ALOT of fun, aside from the Jerks.

One very annoying thing is the way the racing works. It's very much 'Finish First or don't finish at all', there's no incentive to keep racing after you know you're not getting first place. I still race but it's just a shame that all the best car unlocks are reserved for wins only.

Considering how much blind luck comes into play it makes the momentary screw-ups all the more galling. They should fix that ASAP (I.e 'Podium finish' is counted as a win) as the racing is fun. Apart from 'GTA-Race' events, they suck.

Some of the Co-op 'PVE' missions are outstanding and most really emphasise the tense, Hyper-lethal, combat. I also think the recoil model is actually fairly good on the guns, it's also worth pointing out the often challenging AI, i've never been flanked as much before. On the whole It shows how much they've tightened things up since GTA 4 and Red dead, though the cover is still often not 'Sticky' enough.

How do you like the Wii Donkey Kong? Wife and I found it way harder than the old ones for some reason, maybe the wonky co-op or the funky stuff they want you to do with the wiimote. Maybe we just didn't give it a fair try, but something was offputting for sure.

No it's fracking TOUGH! and I'm just going to say it's generally hard, because the controls are solid and what not, but some later stages you can't help but take hits to continue.... period, which annoys me greatly and makes me think poor level design. But over all its a really fun game.

We may have to try it again, we had to step back to something a bit easier aka lego harry potter

And now I'm back onto FTL. Good by free time! I did manage to snag the crystal cruiser though, its quite OP in the first couple of sectors.

Here is the thing about Dark Souls. It insults you "What, you dont have the balls to defeat that boss HA" when you turn it off for being too hard. It makes you want to play to prove it wrong.

Played Stanley Parable for a while longer. Found some hilarious new endings in there. Amazing game.

And now I'm playing Dust: An Elysian Tale. It's amazing that, aside from the voice work and music, the game was made by 1 guy over the course of 4 years. Pretty damn amazing. Well worth getting.

From what I've heard apparently Revelations is pretty good, and pays off the story for the Assassins pretty well.

Mind you I haven't played them. I've got AC1, AC2, Brotherhood and Revelations but I've not had the chance to play them.

Brotherhood is one of the best. You can can probably skip Revelations.

Revelations is just Brotherhood 1.1. Thing I hate about Revelations is there's only one big revelation and it's not even in the game, it's in the DLC. Instead of putting yourself through that just let me know and I'll PM it to you.

Ugh, that's the worst. I've had several people tell me that the DLC for Dishonored has a better story than the actual game >.>

Really? I've been tempted to get it. It looks like its all for the super-violent path....not that there's anything neccesarily wrong with that.

You play as Daud, the assassin from the beginning of the game. After that, I have no idea what it's about...I'd be assuming it dark, though!

Trying out some FTL mods. FTL:Infinity seemed a bit too hard for my casual approach, will try it again later. FTL: Captain's Edition is proving to be quite a bit of fun. Pretty standard FTL, but with lots of extra weapons, enemy ships, events, and so on. Its still the same game (unlike Infinity, which takes away the race and is more about efficiently upgrading your ship so you don't get left behind as you advance zones), but with more stuff going on. Even space stations, which are a modified ship encounter etc.

It's quite fun, probably a lot like the new XCOM expansion, adds just enough new stuff and tweaks gameplay enough to be worth playing through again.

I’m not playing at the moment. I am doing some research in the online for space game. Space games become popular again. I found many space RTS games are coming. I found them in kickstarter. You can also check their demo video.

Must be me, I couldn't get into the older fallouts. I tried them awhile back, just wasn't working. I did have fun with the more recent fallouts, more accessible maybe. And I like hard/merciless games sometimes too. Maybe old fallouts need a better eval when I'm in a sporting mood.

To be fair, I grew up with the old ones. IMO bethesda completely failed in capturing the originals atmosphere, the bug laden crapfest didn't help.

The first two Fallout games had character oozing from every orifice. They managed to make games where your choices mattered, and you had fun making the choices one way or another.
I loved games that gave you the freedom to lose them. Something that has been sorely lacking in recent years. I still remember being a smug little thirteen year old, stomping around the wasteland looking for a water purification chip. I'd wander into some town where the kids would flock up and start picking my pockets of caps. You could be the bigger man and move on, or you could unload with your gatling laser and blow those snots into chunks of steaming meat. It was a choice with consequences, because if you killed enough people you couldn't win the game. You could kill merchants and steal their gak; but then there wouldn't be a merchant in that town. It was seriously mind blowing.

Keep in mind that RPGs weren't then what they are now. Back then there had been a spate of RPGs that had died down, and around that time almost every RPG being made was being made in Japan. I'd played like Betrayal at Krondor, Daggerfall, and Ultima IV and VII. Every other RPG I'd seen was a Japanese RPG where the protagonists had long, strangely colored hair, were more or less directed down a single linear path, and spent hours grinding levels to mediocre music. Then Fallout came along, with absolutely beautiful graphics, and amazing setting, tone, and characters. It was revolutionary and mind blowing. They made a seriously awesome game without taking themselves too seriously, which was effectively different than anything I'd ever played before.
