Good job.. I like how you balanced out the choice of colors. Especially like the way you painted the guns

Cheers Solar. I try to highlight the weapons in the colours of their Aspect as a nod to what they would be if they weren't Biel-tan, my Fire Dragon weapons are black highlighted with red blended to yellow.

Had a few days off before the weekend, work decided it might be a good idea before they break me, I worked out that I've done a month with no days off including working from home in the evenings as well. Which is why I've been rather quiet

Yesterday I finished a MTG article that I've been writing which I've been trying to find the time for for ages and today I finished another mini

Another Eldar model as well, the Fire Dragon Exarch that I was talking about.

Bit disappointed that we are getting a new codex though as I haven't read the current one yet so that was a bit of a waste of money

Next up is a model for a painting comp but you wont be seeing that until next month, then it's the No Shelter Here crew for Malifaux and then... its Nurgle time. Most of my minis arrived yesterday for the Obliterators, just need to pick up some more glue as the lid decided it wasn't coming off just now and I need to pick up the FW Plague Marine conversion kit as well.

Looks good Gir. I feel the same way about the SM dex which apparently is due to be updated fairly soon.

There's only one more left, he's not made it out of the primed mini box yet to the painting table.

-------------------

Not much to report today, I should have been playing in a tournament on Saturday but never made it off the reserve list again. The next one is June but I'm on the reserve list for that one as well, it sold out in three days. I've missed all the events so far this year, its not looking great as thats my only chance to play.

So I decided I would play with myself self instead, well its not like I can loose is it so it should make a change

I still need to write up the batrep which will probably be next weekend as today was spent painting a mini for a painting comp.

I'll leave you with the two army shots, who do you think will come out victorious Skyrar's Dark Wolves or the Sisters of the Nights Rose with their Mantis Warrior allies.

The Exarch looks great, really crisp and clean, just as any self respecting Eldar should be.

I second a call for a batrep after teasing us with the army photos.

And here's the finished batrep, I hope you like it.

I'm currently painting the Malifaux No Shelter Here crew, I don't think they will be finished today so no nice pic I'm afraid.

After the above its Nurgle time my minis have arrived for the Obliterators and I just need to pick up the FW Plague Marine kit, for well um the Plague Marines which I'll order today.

I've been planning my projects out a bit so we have the Death Guard revamp which is a phase one containing Oblits and Plague Marines. Phase two will be the second Heldrake and some spawn but that's not going to happen for a while.

Next it might be my Infinity PanO if the paint arrives

Then back into 40k with an upgrade to my Mantis Warriors.

Then something different to paint, not sure what yet.

Then I'll be upgrading my World Eaters.

The rest of the year could be made up with fantasy minis (KoW and Dark Lands), Black Templar's, Infinity and Malifaux I expect. I also want to pick up some Eldar so they are a viable force. Lots of stuff but time is always my enemy

Cheers Git's as long as I keep it different I shouldn't get bored.

Today I have an update with painted minis in

I just finished painting the Malifaux No Shelter Here crew, they were kind of a challenge trying to make the Sorrows/Poltergeist look magical/spooky but I think I pulled it off.

Picture bomb time.

Tomorrow will bring the start of the Obliterators, I'll be posting WIP shots of the builds as I go along to keep you all interested. Actually I'll probably be bringing a whole week of plague and disease as I'm off next week

I think that crew is incredibly creepy, I like your addition of the hopscotch style base detail to the little girl. That baby is downright wrong and I can't help but be strangely attracted to Pandora. Could be a bad idea on my part.

Thanks, I wondered if anybody would notice the hopscotch base, you need to be careful with Pandora you never know what she may pull out of her box.

Azazelx wrote:That Malifaux crew looks pretty creepy. Is that a self-contained boxed set or something like that?

Cheers Azazelx, yes it is a self contained box set its the Malifaux No Shelter Here box set from the Neverborn faction.

-----------

I started on my first two Obliterators today, didn't get that far. They still need GS work to tie all the parts together which I will probably do for these two tomorrow with a few other things I have building up that require GS. I hate using it so usually end up with a load of minis that require holes filling.

I've waited so long for the parts for these that I've kind of lost my enthusiasm for them at the moment

So will build a few at a time for now to keep them rolling so to speak.

The second guy looks surprised as he's just worked out where the ammo feed for the assault cannon is coming from, his ass all will be revealed.

I've also entered the monthly unofficial Dakka painting comp for this month as I had a mini that fitted the theme.

Here's the link

My entry is Lucas Mccabe from Malifaux

I'm going to start on him tomorrow, looking forward to painting the horse.

The obliterator conversions are forming up quite nicely. I do like the official models. But feel they just needed that little bit more character to show how truly horrific they are. Looks to me like you are on track to do just that.

Warboss_Waaazag wrote:I've always found the most challenging models to convey are the chaos obliterators. Yours look pretty awesome so far.

Many thanks I hope you like the others when they start forming.

-------------

Well I said I'd lost the enthusiasm for the Oblits yesterday, then last night I found out that I've been accepted into a tourney in June. Papa Nurgle's boys will be going for sure, so I've got two months to make and paint 9 obliterators and two squads of Plague Marines. Should be an ok goal to accomplish as long as I get myself into gear.

Today not much was accomplished

I had a general green stuff day filling in holes on a wide range of models

The first two Oblits are now done, I'll take some better shots of them tomorrow probably. The rest of today was spent deciding what Darklands minis I wanted to pick up this month, I had to put the order in today as some of the minis I wasn't going to buy were coming off their pledge manager. I ended up buying into two new factions instead of the one I had planned. I can't pull myself away from them, such excellent miniatures.

There may not be an update tomorrow as I'm dog sitting most of the day, I may get time to pull another Oblit together though.

Is that a giant beastly looking manticore with an old school scorpion tail at the back there? Oh and a black ark. What memories that brings back.

Yeah that is a Manticore with scorpion tail, its from the Darklands game.

Yeah glad to get the Black Ark all done, I've got a whole Dark Elf fleet ready to paint now.

Thanks Azazelx, there's going to be lots of Nurgle for a while in this blog.

Short update before bed. I finished one more Obliterator today (pre GS) and also made a sorcerer as well. There was going to be one spare and he just came together in my hands. Just means I will need to add some Daemons for him to summon to my list of things to buy at some point
