Honestly Id ask a little more. Especially if youre including shipping. The base model is something like 60 bucks for the body alone, right? Let alone a body, 2 arms, AND a great paint job. Id go for nothing less than $100

I don't want to ask too much or appear I think my work is of a standard that high? so I thought roughly around purchase price may encourage someone to pick him up :-) but you're right as i'm inc shipping I should ask a bit more? I don't know where (or if) he'll fly off to! i'll wait and see what others say and then I'll pop him in the swap shop (unless someone wants him now)

Yeah in general I'd say the total of the parts and then double it, Its a great paint job so will most likely sell.

I just did the same with my Thousand Sons Raptor squad, worked out nicely.

Plague Marines squads with two Plasma Guns each is the way forward. 2 squads of these as your base and a twin melta squad as your third squad for anti vehicle..

Points to ponder! total in parts and double makes him about $140 Aus, which I think is heaps too much! I reckon i'll pop him in swap shop on my days off for $100- Aus and see if anyone bites so i can start my Nurgle army :-)

So, I have nearly finished my Hammernators! about 95% finished in fact but i still have to show you my progress because,....well,...... it's my blog and that's what i do

I need to just tidy some bits up and finish painting a bare head and then it's game over for another bunch of termies! i'll show you how they're shaping up before i get onto the heads.....






Well I spent all morning for about 4 hours doing some yard work to get the 'ol Nerdington Manor looking fantastic while I was trimming the roses in the front yard I saw a black car with black tinted windows roll slowly down my street veering onto the wrong side of the road as it slowly approached my abode fearing an attempt on my life i made myself really thin by sucking in my gut and standing behind a rose bush but I needn't have worried! it was just my friendly postal package lady (who i think i opened the door to one day after night shift with no pants on.....at all) .... anyway she handed me a box and then went slowly back down the street with dope smoke billowing from the cracked windows and the boom of subwoofers blasting out from the back with Ice Cube!...... o.k maybe not that last sentence I took my little box inside hurriedly to open and was happy to see it was from MadRobot miniatures I ordered two sets of heads to see what they're like!

here's the box!


inside was a couple of small zip bags hand wrapped lovingly by Steve and placed carefully as if he was putting a baby to sleep in a crib!

and here they are washed and out in the sunshine! really nicely done I may add! no flashing, crisp details with no soft looking areas and arrived undamaged!


Well, I simply couldn't wait to get a moist brush onto these baldy's so i started them and i was pleased to notice as i painted that they are all pretty standard bare heads but they each have subtle differences in expression and appearance which is nice, i may have liked to see a grimace, shout or sneer in the mix but i'm not complaining as it just means Steve can do the expression heads later for me to buy..... right Steve?

here's the start of my painting of them, i'll post a finished shot when they're all done next week for you.

Re: n0t_u: I know, right, that's about as far as I go with my faces...I need a lot more practice, I suppose. I usually screw up the eyes so they look like maniacs, so I just gave up on it years ago.

Also, I want to say thanks to Nerdfest for the marble tutorial (and those shields look amaaazzzing), I have been trying it out on my War Altar conversion (shameless plug):

I am planning on painting those blue panels to look like the altar is lit from within by some eldritch power, kinda like this:

Wow Dude! that looks awesome seriously good work on the marble! it's a great technique and once you've done it a couple of times you kinda wonder why you thought it was going to be so difficult lol yours looks like marble!! which is an excellent result i'd say i'm really glad it helped you out, now I need to see if i can figure out some other tricky paint things and make them easier

Whaddya mean the faces look finished? still more highlighting and a couple of washes away from done you guys should know me well enough by now to see me try and do them nicely so far it's tallarn flesh base then a wash of Ogryn flesh and agrax earthshade just down the middle of the facial features, and tallarn bleached bone highlight on the raised areas so far

So, what do i do next? what does peoples want to see me do?

Wow, I REALLY like how you painted the eyes on those termies. It makes them look ALMOST gentle......till the hammer crushes your face

That's about as far as I go for faces, though I am going to spend a little more time with the Grand Theogonist, since his face is so exposed. Also, the sacrificial lamb that goes on top of the altar has a lot of exposed skin, so I am taking my time with her too. I am planning on investing in expanding my paint/wash inventory this weekend at the FLGS.

Tomorrow sees a Nerd chillaxin' at Nerdington Manor by his lonesome which gives me perfect time to do some painting (and weights and tidy my clotthes cupboard )

With the Nerf gun, you can mod them to get some serious power, look on the net!

Thats awesome man! I remember for my birthday a couple years ago the wife bought me a Nerf Vulcan gun. Its a fething blast!

Marvelous :-) and I have been pretending to be Bruce Willis bursting through doorways and talking smack to the dogs in the next room before I kick in the door and blast them with foam bullets! they're not very impressed with me about it either! but Willy got me back by running at me and landing his considerable weight nose first into my crotch :-(........... so i shot him again :-)

Finished my MadRobot miniatures bare heads today I really like them and can't wait for the sneering yelling heads to get released! I also painted one up for my Hammernator squad to resemble myself which I added and must say he looks damn cool!

and started some area terrain with some barrels i have on it's way and still drying but should be sweet scattered around!


Not very exciting but I'm still glad I got something done today next time i get a chance to paint I'll finish off Pyriels Sallies completely (not enough to show today) and then I dunno what to do? maybe some Rhino's
