What gear are you loading the DP up with?

The only thing that I don't really like (personal likes, It suits the model very well) It's the head.

An idea you could do a marine with a cat o nine tails.

Loving all the leather and studs on the terminators they were a good choice.

Embracing Slaanesh a little too easy! yeas i will say i think I am getting into the swing of the army rather fast! I tend to have the concepts and ideas in my head for ages and then hope with my fingers crossed that i like it when i actually get building and painting, the Tau didn't work but these guys sure are!

So only one who doesn't really like the head eh! I will admit I originally thought reptilian or vermin style, but when I got my bits I couldn't go past that particular head as it spoke to me of what Slaanesh truly is, and it reminded me of these couple of pics (which i promptly can't link now.... )

I like the cat-0-nine tails idea on a marine I will certainly be adding that to someone soon! although I am having trouble deciding what to do with the Decimator? for such a large model I want it to be quite good and would like to add some conversion to him but i'm not sure what to do? perhaps one arm ending in Slaanesh type tentacles? do I make them or can I pinch them from another model range?

I'm gonna go and paint something now.......

You could sculpt him a big daemonette claw.

You could make some of them more mechanical than others as if it sprouts or builds a new arm every now and then and they slowly become more organic and daemon-y over time...

The pink-purple blending on the DP looks great. Very effective. The Eagle's wings in the DA iconography could be kept/worked with fluffwise if your CSM are descendants/former marines of the original Emperor's Children. You can also follow the old-school Slaanesh vibe to a greater or lesser extent by putting some Cow/Bull-type heads on some. Either from GW Beastmen, or these ones that Vic just released:

fresh corrupted librarians! I got that covered Shas! I am beginning a 'Pinhead' sorcerer with chains snaking from him and his trademark leathers, in fact here's a work in progress shot, still a LOT to clean up but I'll get it to work


I also had a bit of a play around with the heads on my Terminators, a couple are standard PW ones with and without the crest thing on top along with a demon one and a small conversion of the standard DA robed head carved out and a demon lower half added which i think will look pretty cool





And inspiration struck with the Chaos Lord too I want him to look proper Slaanesh as well as have a power claw and a weapon to hit people with! so here's the start of him too...


and lastly for today I was thinking about my Maulerfiends and how to make them suit my force, they look too Iron Warrior-ish so I want to make them smoother and more organic with their lasher tendrils, the heads bothered me and my original idea was to make them look like the Pomeranian from Blade but this is what i've mocked up so far...







I think i'm going o.k at the moment with them, i've also been blocking in the prince but not enough to show you yet now i'm off to bed for more rest for my chest.

I'm glad they are conveying enough Slaanesh so far! I worked the tendrils today and sanded them smooth so they are more like tentacles and tomorrow I will try and add some suckers to them to complete the look.

and YES, I am having WAAAAAY too much fun with this mindset of freakish conversions, it's like I've been able to indulge a few things, I have my IG where I'm enjoying the additions of aftermarket parts which add the personality to them, I have my Marines where I love the repetition of the scheme and now I have my Slaanesh where I can let myself experiment with how i believe they should look!

so, what else should i do with the mauler heads? I'm thinking of gs'ing some organic type flesh to connect them?

Thanks gits, I've struggled with pics for awhile now, annoying myself that they aren't clear or detailed enough or even too close and showing too much detail and strokes! it's enough to make me cry! but trying it out like this seems to work at the moment ;-)

Loving the mauler fiend heads/tongues, and the puppet war heads , didn't like the pics o them on the website as much, but they look better with the GW bits Han I thought.

Slaanesh maulerfiend number 1 I filed and sanded the tentacles to be smooth and added some suckers to them for that proper look then cut off a few spikes and added some other little bits to enhance when he gets paint! I like this guy but i can see he'll be awkward to paint, I may have to try something a little different than what i wanted stay tuned....
