Whilst waiting for this to go live, I have spent $350 on the drake KS and have an early special lined up for SW's modular table. The funds I set aside for this KS have now gone....

Deadzone is going to suck up a lot of the air, so to speak, now. It's a shame for RH that they couldn't have launched a month or so ago as they intended.

There is always some other Kickstarter going on, so it's not like a month ago or the month before or before there was a blank spot. Btw. they wanted to start the KS in February.

I still think we have great news, there is a progress, nice to see some behind the scenes and the last part is great. Iron Empire wasn't the greatest name and now more or less three factions and many minis. Hopefully the whole thing will start in May.^^

True - but there isn't always a BIG kickstarter.

Had it launched in Feb (or last month, or whenever) it would have been the sole BIG kickstarter. Post KD:M pre Zombicide 2 would have been a good spot, as would have been post Zombicide 2.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

While their shipping plans sound interesting, from a purely selfish perspective they're a bit annoying, since the two small indies in my city are extremely unlikely to get on board with this(they mainly do boardgames, RPGs, and CCGs with one having a sideline in discount GW). So regardless of how much I pledge, I don't have any opportunity to get hold of my stuff at the same time as others :(

I need to acquire plastic Skavenslaves, can you help?

All really mean 'keep wages low for the masses, taxes low for the rich, profits high for the corporations, and accept the decline in public services and amenities this will cause'." - Robin McAlpine from Common Weal

Does sound a bit too good to be true, doesn't it?

I don't see the delivery scheme working in my neck of the woods, though. There are no chains of store in Quebec, and although Valet d'Coeur distributes a fair bit of gaming, I think they are becoming fed up with minis. They liquidated all of their LOTR, WM/H, Malifaux and Dust stuff. They only stock Reaper and GW now.

Yeah, I'll be having to go with the 'deliver it to me when it is all ready' option - I could end up waiting a while...

Wow, that's quite ambitious of them. I wonder if they can handle it... I don't really know how many sculpts they sell currently, but it feels like 150 would be a signifcant percent increase over what they're already selling (like... 100%?).

You know what I mean!

I love them and their work, but RH doesn't exactly have a reputation for timeliness!

And... 150 new sculpts sounds great - and sounds like a recipe for late!

Honestly, though, for some saying that KS isn't there for us to expect discount, I would agree on fledgling companies, but for an established company like this... product is going to come out, you're just using us instead of an investment with an interest rate.

So to compensate for the long wait, I do hope there is a discount compared to MSRP.

That would be a great incentive to drop money on this, because I too have a feeling that the future delivery dates may be overshot by some time..

150 new sculpts does not necessarily mean 150 new minis

If they are at all modular a 'sculpts' could mean the same figure with a different head or arm etc

The bit I'd say is most significant is they are taking on additional sculptors to do the work, hopefully they are good and will be able to work well in the appropriate style

I suppose all that remains to be seen - but either way, it is a significant amount of work to be done!

Hopefully the delay has been well spent getting all their ducks in a row!

Here the official announcement, Alpharius is talking about:

Tasty TGG Kickstarter news!
26th April, 2013

As the Toughest Girls of the Galaxy Kickstarter launch is almost upon us, today we share news about our planned shipping programme, and about how many new sculpts you can expect.
And because every good post deserves an image, here's a day in the life here at the studio.
Yes, with barred windows, too...
Read on below!

NEW: Raging Heroes Kickstarter Shipping Programme (RHKSSP for short…)

OK, so no, we haven't launched yet, but we work and breathe KS non-stop (really, we've even had dreams about it…). And one thing that focussed our attention earlier this week is regarding shipping dates.

Delivery dates are a big concern on many a Kickstarter. Even more so, KS with long delivery schedules tend to penalise the people who've pledged the most, as they're usually the ones who have to wait the longest for all the items they pledged for to be ready to ship.
We think that this is hardly fair to pledgers, and it also does nothing to enhance a manufacturer's reputation.

Furthermore, one of the side effect of a Kickstarter is that resellers feel pretty much left out of the process.
So we thought about how a solution which would benefit everybody: you, Raging Heroes, and the retailers too! We discussed it with several of our resellers, and one of the best proposal that emerged is to offer pledgers the opportunity to come directly to their store to pick up their Raging Heroes Kickstarter items.

This has several benefits:

• By doing so, we can spread out the shipments over several deliveries to the shops.
So you get your hands on parts of your pledge rewards as soon as they become available.

• And since picking up a pledge ought to be a festive event, we are working on a way that those pledge pick-up times coincide with a special event at the shop, for which you'd gain access to a special Limited Edition Raging Heroes item, under certain conditions. Details are still being worked out on this one, we're getting helpful input from retailers to help make this good for everyone!

• So, this means that you will pay the same amount of shipping fees regardless of whether you're shipped to your location or to a shop. But if you eventually choose a shop pick-up, then we'll break out your pledge rewards in several waves so that you can get your hands on your pledge items as they become available.
Interested?

Then talk to your local shop and see if there's an interest in joining in (or in finding out what's in it for them). If that's the case, send them over to fill out this form and we'll get the ball rolling, or just have them send us a quick email and we'll be in touch with them.

Note 1: We're still working out the details for this programme, so there may be a few details still missing. We will keep you a advised as we progress. Please note that the shop does not have to be a Raging Heroes reseller yet to participate in this programme.

Note 2: If you are a retailer and want to talk about this further or perhaps have some ideas about this, please do drop us a note!

Note 3: Several resellers have already agreed to be part of this programme:
• Australia (Perth): Tactics
• Denmark (Copenhagen): Faraos Cigarer
• Denmark (Esbjerg ): Bunkern
• Germany (Berlin): Battlefield Berlin
• Germany (Hamburg): TableTopShop
• Germany (Trier): SpielBar
• Netherlands (Rotterdam): Gamers Of The West
• Sweden (Umeå): Fantasia
• Ukraine (Vinnitsa): Spellscape
• United Kingdom (Salisbury): 7th Heaven

HOW MANY Toughest Girls of the Galaxy are we sculpting???

As mentioned earlier, the delay created by the administrative hurdles was a very good opportunity for us to examine how we wanted to run this KS. We've seem many people in the last few months, manufacturers and pledgers alike, having somewhat of a hard time with the process.

So we deliberately decided to take the slower approach to our first KS project. And as you can see from the above delivery programme, we are trying hard to think of everything before the launch.

We've also been making tremendous advances in our workflow. And this means several things.

For this KS, we have planned to produce over 150 new sculpts if the Kickstarter goes to its highest point. This means a bit over 20 heroes/special characters, and a tad over 20 unit boxes.

This is really a tremendous amount of work, as you can imagine. At this point in time, most of our hero characters are sculpted, several units are completed, and the rest of the troops will all be finished by the end of the Kickstarter.

To achieve this, we have developed very specific working methods and enrolled several new extremely talented freelance sculptors. And we are happy to say that we are now sticking very closely to our sculpting schedule! Ultimately, 80% of the sculpts we'll be done by the end of the Kickstarter, and the rest (mainly hero characters) will be done the following month.

When we started this project, we envisioned the "Rambettes" as being a Special Ops Penitential Unit under the command of the much more regular and organised Kurganovas' army. However, working on them, we realised that it would not take so much extra work to make them usable as a full-fledged force. And so the project grew. And grew.

Ultimately, this means that you will now have access to three different forces:
• The Jailbird Division (a.k.a. the Rambettes)
• The Kurganova Shock Troops
• The Iron Empire (our cyber-Prussian style soldiers) - although we'll likely change their name…

Comments? Questions? We're listening…

20 Heroes and 20 Unit boxes, IF they meet all their goals (and why wouldn't they, unless they're completely unrealistic! I mean, well done Female SF warriors = license to print money!).

That means, what?, at least 100 - 120 different sculpts, right?

20 heroes + 20 boxes with at least 5 unique bodies = 120!

I'm looking forward to this one!

I might be wrong, but I am guessing that when they say 150 new sculpts they mean 150 models build.

Admittedly 3D sculpting has the advantage of making multiple models in different poses fast.

Bloody right it'll be a license to print money; female not-Catachans, not-Krieg/AdMech, and whatever the Shock Troops end up as. Even just among 40K players they're going to find a lot of customers.

Been waiting for this since it was announced, will be looking at the Dark Elves as well. Managed to hold back about a grand as potential source of pledging funds, looks like over the two I might well need it.

Don't forget it allows for some simple tweaks like head and weapon swaps. There is a long history of same pose/body figures with simple changes to create variety.

More interested in what the Frau Kriegers look like. Only shown one officer so far. Want to see what the RnF look like. Though noticed one thing, I did not see any mention of Dark Elves. They appear to be pushing that army back. Apologies if I'm wrong. I hope I'm wrong.

Na'h they not involved in this one at all, RH are planning on running three this year, I'm reckoning due to these delays we'll probably only see two, but they might get the third out by the end.

From what they where saying earlier in the year I'd be expecting the Dark Elf one to be out sometime in the summer. Late Summer now I guess.

Cozy cockpit of an Archer ARC-5S

From their FB:

Yesterday's work: updated several details on Lady von Stroheim's sculpt, created two new troopers for the Kurganova Schock Troops, rendered the opening trailer text for the KS video in After Effects, worked on the set up of a SciFi cargo bay environment in a new 3D software (again for the video), paid suppliers and sorted out bills for the accountant, replied to emails, began setting up the RH newsletter (on pre-KS launch), selected 10 new poses for the various upcoming TGG troopers.

Sounds like they're still far from ready with the launch.
