Cheesecat wrote:A Christopher Nolan Batman movie featuring the Riddler.

An enemy that physically is no match for batman and instead goes around causing chaos and leaving calling cards?

I think the reason given by Nolan was while the details are different [calling cards are riddles rather than literal cards] and the riddler would have more of a plan than the joker the jist of the film would have been way too similar to the dark knight. That said if the series was to be more than a trilogy I would have loved to see it.

I always wished that they had made a film version of the Indiana Jones game - The Fate of Atlantis. I think it would have translated to film better than the Crystal Skull did. Oh well...

Mass Effect. Because Bioware is directly involved in making it happen. I just hope it won't be as sucktacular as your average anime. The Dead Space animes were good. If ME ends up around/better than them in terms of quality, I'll be happy.

I enjoyed watching The Wire recently and it left me pondering that the political aspects of Gotham's police department (all the corruption etc) would make for great viewing.

This would form the backdrop for a major investigation each season that focuses on one of the Batman villains (e.g. a Zodiac style Riddler, Anarchy provoking riots, Victor Zzaz as a serial killer), with Batman himself an elusive figure, who is barely mentioned or seen.

The show would start at the beginning of Gordon's career (in a similar way to Batman Begins) and follow his rise through the ranks to Commissioner.

I would really, really want to see this program

If this thread's still going, I really want to see the Mortal Engines quartet translated directly to film. It would be amazing.

That being said I wouldn't mind a film adaptation of Beyond Good and Evil.

Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

Many things. Assuming there could somehow be a book-to-film translation that didn't completely screw up plot/characters/setting:

Stuart Hill's Icemark trilogy. Awesome setting, great characters and battle scenes that make LOTR look like a conker fight in the playground.

An adaptation of the His Dark Materials trilogy that A) went past the first film and B) remained faithful to the books. That series would a goldmine for a director in terms of staging and effects.

Outside of books, a Live Action Halo movie with better plot than Forward Unto Dawn (which wasn't bad, but give me more Chief and Covenant and less annoying cadets).

There hasn't been a decent war movie in a while (although I hear The Monuments Men might be pretty good for what it is). More WW1 might be interesting.

Steven Spielberg is producing a halo series.

I know, but isn't that going to only be available through Xbox live? I was more talking about a proper film. But yes, I see your point.

Yeah, cause you know, we don't have the internet, and capture cards.

That stuff will be uploaded within the hour.

Also, it won't be xbox exclusive, I think they will actually be released earlier on one of them streamy sites can't remember the name but I'm pretty sure they made some weird deal where xbox live will get them 2 weeks later then the actual streaming service.

CBA to find the article.
