Morning Everyone

The Project is fully funded in less than 12 hours, an amazing response. Thanks to all our backers!

@Mysterio - This torso's gorget is meant more as decoration, it sits slightly under the helmet. We will do alternative torsos with larger gorgets which actually come up and around the helmet, and some torsos with no gorget as well.

@Haigus- That's right, everything not labeled as KS exclusive will be available at retail, most likely early 2019.

You will also be able to add more funds in your pledge manager if you want to, which wont happen until late May at the earliest.

The shoulder pads for both this and the Regiments range are interchangeable. Other parts are less compatible, but parts from the KS will be more compatible with our range of female regiments models.

@Ingtaer - We will put up more details on likely shipping costs/options at some point soon.

---------

SALUTE is tommorow!! We will have very limited stock with us, but we will have the resin models from the KS, and an awesome 30cm tall "ten up" Daughter on our stand, so do check us out if you are at the show!

Sunday I am resting, and Monday we are back to working on the KS!

Unfortunately, the small size of the discount (10-25%) plus needing to pay an undetermined amount for shipping (or even worse - wave shipping) compared to Anvil's website shipping costs means that I'm better off waiting until it's done and then making a normal order with free shipping, because I've never spent under £40 in a single order. The squads at present don't fit into the £40 pledge either at £16 each.

Please don't read this as bitching, because I think Anvil is great and have made quite a few orders over the years - and I know Joel has a percentage taken by KS, etc. But small KS discount for paying 7+ months in advance + needing to pay for the usually-free shipping knocks it all on the head.

Either way, the KS is already a success which is great, so best of luck with this, Joel!

There are some real gems in there and a great new (more earthy "realistic") take on this trope. The basic troops could use a bit more of the gothic plate armor vibe - they seem less detailed than the concept art, but that could be me. Still, very tempting!

I'm surprised that given the obvious utility to use as a carapaced up Imperial Guard Army (there's troops, doctors, primaris psykers, officers, etc), there's no kneeling legs and heavy weapon arm options. Doubly so given that Anvil already has several heavy weapon options on their website, and they state that they don't want this pidgeon holed as a 'Sisters Army', but rather a more general female sci-fi one. Seems like a missed opportunity there, given that they have the weapons done already.

Hi everyone,

@Azazelx - Thats perfectly fair feedback, thank you. We will be putting up more information about shipping costs next week.

The prices are certainly higher than most Kickstarters.

We could afford to give a higher discount and still make a profit, but if we have to manufacture a larger number of models at a lower profit margin, we risk putting an overwhelming stress on our already stretched manufacturing department.

If our quality control and shipping times for regular orders start to slip it risks our entire company reputation, and it's just not worth it.

So, smaller discount, smaller Kickstarter as a result, but easier to fulfill quickly and efficiently so that all backers have a great experience and the product can go to retail sooner (but AFTER all rewards are shipped).

@Kestral - Yes, the basic infantry are certainly less detailed than some of the artwork. We tried some prints with higher detail and it just gets lost at 31mm... We want them to be enjoyable to batch paint, not tedious.

The characters though... we are going all out on the detail for those!

@Ketara - You are quite right, and I have already given thought to a conversion sprue which will make the Daughters compatible with all our existing Regiments heavy weapons.

We are also going to try some male figures in the same armour, to go in our Regiments range, either as part of the Kicsktarter or after, for the retail launch.

This is good to hear!

Once they're in, I'll be in.

Will they be previewed soon, in the KS campaign?

Will definitely pledge if it looks like the melee squad and some more characters will unlock, unfortunately don't really need the others but that's just me

I'm glad there's some crossbows in the weapon extras, I had planned on painting up a couple Daughters as knights for DnD (leaving off the backpacks of course). I think they'll look great.

I love it all Anvil. I'm tempted to back you for my first Kickstarter but I've also had my eye on your Afterlife characters too. If I have a good couple of weeks I'll certainly be backing at the £40 level at least. Keep up the good work and I personally hope the hounds are unlocked at the minimum

Couldn't agree more about the models, they're excellent. Reminds me that I've got a few left to paint.

Malika, I believe Joel's said they'll be taking a second run at the rules and that they're not intending to just let it die.

Afternoon all,

We are back from SALUTE and I am totally exhausted!

@Rolsheen - Regrettably its not for sale! I like it too much, and don't have time to make another one any time soon.

We are going to look at some 75mm vesion's of certain figures.

@Mysterio - We will preview a couple of new bits as soon as we can, I need to actually sculpt them, starting monday!

@Scarlet Rose - They work great without pads or backpacks, very deliberately.

@sockwithaticket - Thanks for posting those photos up for me!

AFTERLIFE - absolutely not dead. It doesn't sell well because we dont have final rules or enough factions, but I am still committed to continuing developing it. We will be looking to expand the studio team over the coming months so we can work on multiple projects at once.

I'm in the same boat.

I guess it's good though that there will be those of us who will wait to buy them at retail as well.

Congrats to Anvil on the successful funding! The miniatures look awesome.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better.

Great work as always Anvil! That's some of the best looking female sci find armour I have seen in ages, perfect for SoB but also generic enough to be a cool looking militia force.

For anyone scared of ordering because resin, don't be, these guys honestly make the best resin models I have ever come across! I'd even go as far as saying it's better than plastic as it is more detailed and easier to assemble, no mold lines, no bubbles and everything fits together very well.

I can also vouch for the quality of the Anvil resin. At least when I ordered stuff a while ago, and it's been a change I assume it's only been for the better, what with the ever increasing volume of stuff getting pushed out.

The earlier Afterlife KS ran by the company was also very well run . One of the (if not the very)first I crowdfunding I ever backed and probably still the one that delivered with the least delays of all I've backed since

Thirded - Anvil definitely produces top-quality stuff.

The painted Daughters have tipped me into the KS. Damn you! :-D

Man, they are looking top notch, that Anvil has already put consideration toward male versions and to make torsos look fire without the Backpack is more great news. Can't wait till next week to see more stuff.

Not related to the current KS, which is looking great by the way, I thought I'd post these here as another testament to the immense versatility of the Regiments range. The other month I did Vostroyan-inspired Guard, now I've done some Adeptus Arbites. The heads are GW as are a couple of other bits, but the bulk of these models is all Regiments.

Morning All,

@frozenwastes - We are certainly hoping that this will be a popular product at retail as well, and will be a long term supported range.

@CommanderCain- thanks for your feedback and compliments

@Zywus - also thank you! Increasing output while maintaining quality has been a big challenge over the last 6-12 months, but we are working hard to maintain our standards!

@Momotaro - thank you! We will get better photos of the painted models up soon.

@Paradigm - Wow! Those Arbite conversions look amazing! Thanks for posting the photo up!

We are going to be spending most of today catching up with orders and tydingy the studio up after SALUTE, which was great fun as always.

We will be back with more updates tommorow!

Why don't you make these models an additional faction for Afterlife? (not to mention some of the regiments). People would still buy them as 40k-proxies regardless, but it would certainly give them more usage and context besides totally not designed as proxies for that other company's games I know that Afterlife has it's own aesthetic and background, but sci-fi (and Fantasy) worlds always have new continents/planets/colonies discovered to add in additional factions and content.

Maybe the power armoured guys don't fit in, but the regiments (and presumably these Daughters) are much closer to the scale that AL uses.

I think Afterlife is Anvil's way of branching out from the 40k proxy market and exploring something new so while it would be nice to get a few more factions faster, it could hurt the overall setting of the new game.

Looks like the ks has hit 50k so that's every stretch goal we know of hit already and only a couple of days in!
