There's also the fact that they're (at least on Dire Avenger armor) mostly not gems. The "lumps" are electronics.

Yes actually I did.
All over it looks like a pretty quick perhaps rushed job in order to try to ride the wave of the knight's release.

This is also one of the stupidest fallacies one can fall into. Quite frankly I'm disappointed now, especially after seeing how good your posts have been in the past. My skill itself has nothing to do with it, otherwise my opinion on it would be biased, no? Instead I seem to be the only one trying to stay objective. People bringing up who painted it and what awards he has won, is that how art is judged now? Not how it looks, by who painted it? I'm sure they didn't care he had already won a gold demon when he won a second. I really couldn't care less about who painted it; it was completely irrelevant to how it was painted and presented. You know, that thing I was discussing that's apparently "hating on the painter" now.

I'm clearly wasting my time here.

I never mentioned who painted it, as frankly that doesn't mean crap.

And I never actually said you couldn't do it, I was making a generalization.

I agree that it's meh. It doesn't do anything for me, especially compared to the green one. But one thing I've seen on my years on the forum and in the hobby, is that so many people are harsh critics of work that they can't even equal, myself included from time to time(though I admit if it's something I don't like but can't do myself).

I cannot personally airbrush as well as that blue model. I don't think that paint job is a 10, but I'd give it a solid 7. I don't think it was half assed at all. And who cares if he's riding the fotm wave?

That said, I agree that if A is $349, then B should be $225-250 at the most. In both cases, I'd not buy them as that is preposterous money for models.

Yes, this seems reasonable. If I didn't already have all the BFG stuff I'll ever need, including books and markers, I might be interested in that deal. I would do some shopping around though to see what a NIB BFG would go for though.

The really sad part is that at £46 it is still $10(AUD) cheaper than buying direct in Australia.

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Amazon lists that thing as having a release date of December. Guess people are just that impatient....

Actually looking at the bidding it appears to be just one person who's repeatedly bidding on it. Oddly they've increased the bid exponentially despite a lack of interest from other users...

eBay does t show failed winning bids, so if that one person set a high enough bid, any time someone bids it looks like he bids again.

In other words, those repeat bids are showing other interested buyers.

I took a closer look and I just dont see the quality on it. The airbrushing just looks lazy to me and the gems are sloppy. The "lightning" is sloppy and not crisp and the highlights are amature at best. The pose is nice but the paint is blah. On a side note I can paint and have a few GW statues myself so
