That is, unless this story line is about say, an expeditionary or vanguard fleet sent to probe Terra's defences to find out they're stronger than expected...
Resulting in Horus deciding he needs another 20 or so novels before he can attack Terra properly...

Honestly, I would estimate at somewhere between 18 months and 2 years minimum, given it takes 9 months to get an HH in proper paperback.

The Throne of Terra just went up on iBooks yesterday, on Digital Monday, where hey have been releasing a couple new shorts stories every week...
it's only 24 pages of story, but for $2.99 it's not a bad little treat for myself...
hopefully it will be a good read, with some interesting info...
i enjoyed the last two books, but they really had nothing to do with getting closer to Terra...
now, with Unremembered Empire coming up, and the Mark of Calth anthology, it does seem like they have neglected the main event a bit...
so, i'm happy for a little tidbit of what's happening back home...
cheers

Didn't Abnett say ages ago that Gaunt would die either way? It seems they are postponing this and drawing the series out, much like the Horus Heresy novels.

Well yes, but then again. Gaunts Ghosts is a "historical story" set long before modern 40k.
What people really want to worry about is how in Salvations Reach, there's a discussion about how Ravenor dies "badly"...

RAAAAAAGGGE!!!! The regular ebook for Angel Exterminatus (the one without the handful of black and white pictures that push the cost up by 5.50GBP) was released alongside the trade paperback 3 months after the price gouging hardback. This was apparently a 'mistake'. The trade paperback for Betrayer was released today, but the regular ebook is going to come out 6 months from now with the mass market paperback. I HATE Black Library.
Black Library on Facebook wrote:...the standard eBook of 'Betrayer' will be on sale alongside the small paperback in six months. 'Angel Exterminatus' was put on sale earlier (alongside the Trade Paperback) but this is where the error lay. Rather than taking that one down again, we decided to leave it up as it would be unfair to have allowed some to buy it but not others. Going forward, the standard eBook will always be available alongside the 'Legacy edition' (small) paperback.

Aaaaaand here I was rereading the good parts of Deliverance Lost and some of the better short stories from the series over the last week. I was almost excited about the series again.

Betrayer was on sale in Waterstones in the UK last weekend, as part of the 'buy one, get one 50% off' offer. So, pretty much the original smaller paperback price if you squint a bit

This exclusive eBook collection contains three seminal tales of the World Eaters and their gene-sire, by Aaron Dembski-Bowden and Matthew Farrer. Alongside the classic 'After Desh'ea', the audio drama 'Butcher's Nails' is presented for the first time in prose rather than script format. Finally, the brand new micro-short story 'Lord of the Red Sands' gives a glimpse of the past, along with a vision of Angron's own hopes for revenge and redemption in an uncertain future.

Excited about this.....until I read exclusive (+$40.00), then read description......(reprint, reprint, new print of previous release), then they realized they can toss in a micro short story(must be less than 6pages or it would be a novella) to try o get the collectors.
Sorry the whole hardback thing has me super bitter still

So a reprint, a transcript of an existing story, and whatever-the-hell a micro-short story is, in an exclusive hardback. Pass. Angron, the audio drama, was OK. I wouldn't buy the transcript, though.
