well... everything has been said already regarding cheap "pot"metal...but sometimes you need to risk with cheap stuff as you have no funds for the real stuff... but the task needs to be done... talk about tough choices between a rock and a hard place...

Badass Galorn! That mold looks uber-professional! I'll remember to think about the pressure process next time I make a master. I can make them more solid. The bases are awesome..I need many!

Noted, Care package en route as soon as I mail it. (I'll pm the tracking ID once I have one.)

the package will have the first (and only) cast from the two part mold Pictured above. (you'll see why I say only once you get it.) and no its not due to bubbles...
Also a sample of the pressure cast bases.. and other odds and ends.

Comrade, the base you sculpted should be getting boxed, and molded in the next couple of days.

I'll be going back and remastering all the molds I've made save the latest base one as the old ones will in all probability not pressure cast well as the molds themselves were not pressure cured.

Wow, those bases look excellent! I really like the rust effect you have. How did you do that?

EZ rust...

Step one place some Liquitex "Burnt Umber" in a paint dish with a little water Stir it to thin it a bit but leaving it kinda chunky.
Step two Dab it onto the model where you want rust.
Step three let dry
Step Four Place some Liquitex "Raw Sienna" in a paint dish as per step one.
Step Five as per step two just with raw sienna paint instead of Burnt Umber
Step six PROFIT i mean RUST

I have some of that except it's called Speedball (from Michael's craft store). I'll give that a try, thanks for the info! I'll post results on my Terrain thread.

speedball is actually an acrylic printers ink, not sure if it will behave the same, but it's definitely worth a shot.

Possibly... Attempt 2 is in the pot now. I'm starting to run a little low on silicone so I'll be restocking soonish.
