Here's our warehouse manager's status report: "This project has been complex, considering we have needed to do all of the assembly. We are nearing the end of it but I don't have any firm dates on shipping. We are doing all that we can, each day."
I hope you can be patient a little longer.
Thanks

I'm worried now okay, they've been packing this stuff for over two weeks now and still no firm dates in sight?!
Im guessing its not one of their priority projects.
Were they paid in full up front? Maybe they are one of those places that take their time once the money is in the bank.

I pretty much get the same response. I know they're working on it, and I know they have a bunch of other projects to do too. All I can do is hope it gets done soon and hope the bugs get worked out in the process so this doesn't happen again. It's pretty much the reason I decreed that the new campaign will get all unboxed minis. So at least everyone can get their orders sooner and the retail release can be whenever they get the boxed stuff done.
All of the guns are going to be beefy like that, it's party due to the 3D printing, and also just for the heroic-ness of the minis. I'm also going to see about getting 3D prints & resin casts done for all of the different guns on mini sprues, so the traditional sculptors can use them in their sculpts so everything will match better. The 3D sculptors can all just share the files though We're probably going to be moving over to more 3D though since my ultimate goal is to do plastics of some sort.

He has made mention of this a few times, that all future campaigns would be without boxes to speed gak up considerably.
Personally, I do not care about the boxes that much, the FLGS does, however I do care about the other printed wares for demo games at said store.

Yeah we added it to an update about halfway through the campaign.. everyone will get the unboxed minis as default, but if you want you can wait for the full box sets. They'll add that to the questionaire or pledge manager.

What is the exact hold up? previously it was 'packaging is not here yet' and 'too many options', and I'm fairly sure you already said the packaging was in.. and the other excuse is ridiculous.
You really need to stay on there butts and get this resolved, possibly looking into going to Game Salute and packing some orders yourself. The more its delayed, the worst you look.

Or at the very least bust some heads. Game Salute claims to be a big boy company with big boy pants and all that, its time they start acting like it.
I can deal with having to wait on stuff because it's delayed in production or its on a ship... I have a hard time waiting on something because a company that distributs and publishes games for a living can't fufill 250 orders.
Someone higher up on the food chain at Game Salute, or even you, needs to ride this warehouse managers ass.

I'll mention that to the sculptor.. great thing about 3D is fixes like that are pretty easy Automatically Appended Next Post: and .. I'm going to send an email to the Dan the CEO tonight when I have time to sit down and type it all out.. I'll pass along everyone's comments and concerns. Automatically Appended Next Post: And, I just got this email from GS out of the blue
please put together an update indicating that we're nearing the end of assembly and then pledges will begin shipping. We'll have another update in a week as we progress with that process.
The email thread goes back to the email BrookM's sent
Anyway, I'll be posting an update to that effect on the KS page in a bit.

From KS.
I just got an update on the orders today, direct from Game Salute's CEO:
"please put together an update indicating that we're nearing the end of assembly and then pledges will begin shipping. We'll have another update in a week as we progress with that process."
Assuming the assembly took a while. They had to gather up the minis for each set, bases, cards, rules and battlefoam sheets and then box & shrinkwrap every set, then count out 14 dice 250 times At any rate, I'll keep you all informed and pass on any new info as soon as I get it!
Thanks for bearing with me

So realistically pledges won't even begin to ship out until after the New Year....
As always I fail to be impressed by Game Salute, their the bad joke of the tabletop gaming world.
There are three things that I hope come out of everything I've said in this thread. First, the CEO of Game Salute relises what a joke his company is and fixes it. Second, that it's not a good idea for a minatures company to partner, or whatever your relationship actually is, with a mediocer board game company. And third my models.
At this point you better be praying that delivery of this kickstarter goes smoothly and preferably ahead of schedule.

Springboard is a name I'm familiar with.
With as many projects as they've created on Kickstarter, plus whatever else they're in to, it is a bit odd that they're having such a hard time figuring out how to effectively complete the last BWG Kickstarter...

I concur! I wish I had more details, but all I know is they're doing a lot of other projects in addition to mine and they're working hard to get everything done. They were primarily a board game company till I came along so I guess it's just a lot of growing pains. Was just thinking that most of their games are probably already made and shipped over from China, so all they have to do is ship them to the customers, but with mine they have to build & pack everything and just weren't prepared for it.
Fulfillment and shipping has it's issues right now, but I've been assured the next campaign will go much smoother. And in their defense though, in the game design department anyway and working with the company in general, I've had nothing but good experiences. They sank a lot of money into the game and have budgeted a lot more for the future when it still isn't even in stores yet. When all was said and done, the first campaign was about $3000 in the red, plus they spent a big chunk of cash on extra stock ordered and the printed rulebooks. Then budged a few K more to pay the artists who did the artwork for the new campaign. And then there's the gencon booth for next year... overall thanks to them it's a higher quality product now than I would have been able to do on my own.
I'm hoping they can get the orders out asap and figure out a good system for moving forward so this never happens again. I'm pretty optimistic about what the future holds for the game, just gotta get past today... Automatically Appended Next Post: And actually now that you mention it.. since I started Kickstarting last year, so far I haven't gotten a single order from any campaign I personally backed either. Ogre, Sedition Wars, Bombshell Babes and more. Regretting not doing Zombicide...
Not an excuse, but I guess it's just the Kickstarter way :/ I'm hoping to not use KS that much more in the future. I want to get to the point where we can just budget X number of sculpts per month and just release em the old fashioned way.

So now your using other Kickstarter projects to offset how long its taking Game Salute to get their act together?
Ogre was a victim of it's own sucess, the game got rediculosly big in its reprinting. Additionally currently its only one month over due.
Sedition Wars ran into some problems that I hope you never have to deal with and should be shipping soon.
Bombshell Babes isn't due yet.
Useing other projects as an arguement isn't a good idea because it can be easily flipped around to bite you in the ass.
I am currently or have already backed 72 projects, 12 of them are still ongoing. Of the other 60 projects 6 of them were either canceled or failed to reach their goal. Of those 54 projects that were sucessfully funded I've received 17 of them with the vast majority of the other not being overdue.
Back when you started your first campaign you were a one man operation. Back then I was willing to give you the benefit of the doubt and delays were understandable. Now however your part of a "large" company and your going to be held acountable as such. If you don't deliver on time and with what was expected thats a major problem. It's also a problem that may tarnish your name in the future irrepairably. People are starting to get vocal about getting their stuff and its only going to get worse unless you do something about it. Sending an email to a warehouse manager isn't enough. You have to figure out exactly what is going on, and fix it immideiatly. You also need find out exactly what their going to do to fix this in the furute, an empty promise of "this won't happen again" isn't good enough.

It's what I've been saying all along, the Kickstarter model for our hobby is hamstrung by this kind of issues and will eventually be scaled way back from its current amount of overproliferation. Give it a few months and we're going to be hearing from irate Reaper customers, too.

yes, they will certainly be going out before any retail stuff is made available. Ya'd think they would hurry up, so they can start selling to stores and make some money..
And yes I know I'm the face of the project, it's my game and they are just the publisher (and bankroll at the moment) .. so yeah the issues have been really frustrating and depressing. Just hoping next time around these issues will all be resolved and this never happens again.
In other news, I just got WIP shots of the next guy for Wilde's Rangers. Decided to make a new post for WIP photos in the BWG forums, and just do finished more "product announcement" kind of photos for this thread

Yes, I still own the game and IP and all of that stuff. But, it would take a lot for me to be able to do it on my own. They are providing the distribution, big warehouse to store everything, fulfillment (packing the minis in their boxes), selling it at cons.. Then there's the other things like having a creative director for the game now to wrangle all of the artists and keep them on point, proofreader so the rulebook won't be full of typos like the old one was. My job now is to just sit back and create my game world, come up with new units & models for the game and just keep it all going. I get paid a "yield" from everything sold, basically a royalty fee. But the game is and always will be mine

But the game is and always will be mine
If this is the case and Game Salute is just the distributer/fufilment house then start making some demands. Don't let them kick the can down the road and tell you that their working on it. Get hard dates and hold them to them.

Geez, man. Calm down.
As someone who was reading his comments neutrally, without predisposition to look for ulterior motives, they came across more as conversational. There was no indication that it was a defense or argument.
With all due respect; I know you want your models, but chill a bit. You'll get them. You're riding the man like an old horse, and it's getting old.
