Love the marker! I agree with some pipes and smoke! Also keep him behind it maybe have him jumping over while shooting!

Bikes are looking great, really like the libby conversion - simple and sweet! Gaping hole is great; I highly recommend expanding foam insulation for smoke, myself.

Smoke? simular but not as abundent as the blown up rhino picture This was a quick put together. I'll be more specific when I do it for the display.

Fake candle lights.. I have some if you need it . As long as you cut down all the excess plastic it might work. Careful you don't over balance the figure with the effect!

Thanks, Gents!

@Graven: Is that what you used for your SR base?

Spoiler:

How do you actually use that stuff? I have such a small area to fill (compared to your SR) that I wouldn't want to over do it....

@SL: What kind of battery do you need for fake candle lights? I appreciate the offer, but I'm not sure if I'll have time to get together before next week. Any suggestions on where to pick them up? Hobby Lobby? Michaels?

Yup. You only need to squirt out a little bit at a time, remember.

For a light, alternatively, you could use one of those electronic tea lights?

They are complete w/battery.. all I do is unscrew the fake flame top and flip the tiny switch. I have a bunch .. I 'll just drop on off with KV and you can get it from her tomorrow.

Small update.

Did some work on the objective:

What do you think of the smoke? I just shoved some cotton in there to get an idea....

Not sure about the PG. My idea was to run a couple of wires from it to the bike, like the marine had pulled the Plasma Talon of the bike to fire by hand. Thoughts?

Close-up of the standard:

Mk IV Biker:

Mk III Biker:

I haven't glued these guys together yet. I was happy to find that all I really had to do was trim the marines' butts to fit them in the seat. The feet will need to be adjusted slightly, and I would probably add the Mk III forearms to that Biker to make the arms look more like the Mk III armor. I think they look pretty good, but I wanted to get some feedback first. So, what do you think?

C&C welcome.

Thanls for reading!

Objective looks good, as do the old mark bikers (post feet fix). Don't dwell on things to much, you have a tremendous paint load to cover in a month. You can always go back later if it ends up bugging you.

Agreed. Just get them done.

Thanks, Gents. I appreciate the advice. It's hard, though. I really like building the models, and I want them to look, well, the way I want them to look.

So, looks like I need a new pin vice. The one I have doesn't grip the drill bit anymore and just spins around. Kind of uselss. Any suggestions on type or brand of pin vice I should get to replace it?

I definitely recommend this one. Got it a few years back and haven't had a problem with it yet! Plus it comes with a bunch of mini bits already.

SL, thanks, that's very generous of you. Unfortunately (for me), I already ordered one....

What do you guys think of this as an idea for mounting an MG (or other weapon) on a bike?

Thanks!

YB

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Here's another idea for mounting the MG:

This is a very rough mock-up just to give the idea. I would add a couple more base pipes to form the arm and the hydraulics. Might have to remove the pole, too....

I'm not sure I like this idea, but i'd like to hear your opinions.

Do you know what would be cool? Do you have a techmarine back pack handy? Perhaps mount the meltagun on one of those servo arms. Then slap that on the back of your rider.

I kinda like it when they just one hand it like a badass Arnold terminator biker with a shotgun.

Melta on the front of the bike looks cool! The one on the back though... not really doing it for me. If I were driving that bike I would never shoot it for fear of it taking my head off!

The rest of the bikers look ace as well, loving the HH guys riding them.

@WM: yeah, I've seen a couple of builds like that that are good, but i tend to like those less. I'll do that if I need to, but I thought i'd try something different if possible....

Oh, man, that's a great idea, Ice! I may need to grab a Tech marone or two! Anyone got any tech marine back packs they want to get rid of?

@CC: Thanks, mate! Glad you like them. I'll probably go with the front mount if I can't get any tech marine packs.

You could use some sang guard melta pistols for that practical look as well.

It also has the added benefit of taking 10 seconds. This close to the wire, that is pretty important.

Thanks, Gents. That's what I did!

Got some good work done this weekend.

Built some bikers:

At leat until i ran out of glue.

Also waiting on a couple of bits from Whalemusic and Solar.

Also got some paint on the Tactical Marines!

Armor is essentially done. I really like how this paint shceme is coming out.

Close-ups of the Sergreants:

By the way, it's official: I hate mold lines!

And Git's GMS:

The light really washed out some of these pictures. They actually are shaded and highlighted. Oh well. Sorry about that.

C&C welcome.

Thanks for reading!

I think the simpler look is better. Much more, I dunno, plausible I guess? Is your army all FW? You must have a mountain of spare bits from all the kit basing

Very very cool YB. Great to see you getting paint on all these guys! The bikes Im especially excited for.

Im liking the look of the color, and I really like it on that Mk4 armor- I think Im gonna need to snag some at the con xD

Thanks, WM. i agree; it does look better. Thanks for the idea! No, not all of the army is FW. The ML marines and the Mk VI marines are just regular guys. But a lot of them are FW. I was inspired by Mr. Malevolent's Sharks from last year's Adepticon. I actually don't have many bits left....

@Gits: Thanks! I thought I had actually gotten some good work until I saw your Quad Gun. Man that's a nice piece.

By the way, took both of your advice and glued a bolt pistol on the standard bearer. Done.

Forgot to post this picture:

Added the Force Sword. What do you think? He' supposed to be equipped with a FS, so I wanted it on the model. I originally thought I'd put some bravkets on to hold the sword but didn't have time. I may add a couple later.

Should be a cool mix of armors at the least. I'm bummed I won't get to see the sharks, they looked nice. Did the two I sent make it? Not sure how my brother sent it, but should be there soon if not already.

I might have put the sword on the back of the faring wing, but he is super magic, it goes wherever he wants it

I like it... prominent, in-your-face kind of sword positioning. Totally impractical too which makes it all the more space marinie.

Hey, Ramos, sorry I missed your post earlier. Thanks! I'm particularly happy with that sergeant. The pose came out perfect, and it really shows off the color. I need more practice with photographs, though, as these aren't really showing off the shades very well. I'm loving the bikes! The bikers take a bit of fiddling, but it's a lot of fun when they come together. The Mk IV almost seem like they're made for the bikes. The IIIs and Vs take a bit more to make them fit.

I love the fact that you're including the force sword, but I'm not sold on the position. Would you be able to turn the wheel with a sword there? What about placing it at an angle, on the wings, hilt up, blade diagonally sticking out? He could easily grab the hilt and it wouldnt impede his driving.
