Apparently Ravage magazine has a new Sedition Wars scenario. Not that we've seen the box set ones yet...

Just bringing this post up again in case anyone is buying it just for the Sedition Wars stuff - Mahrdol on the Studio McVey forum is reporting that this issue does not contain any Sedition Wars scenario or information it looks like it was pulled from the magazine but not the advertising for it due to the delayed shipping.

Thanks for that DaveC,

I was considering getting it for the SW scenario so that's saved me a bit
(surprised they pulled stuff though as a month is not long delay)

Ya I don't see it. Been through the Ravage #5 magazine 4-5 times now. There is just a 1 page ad for the SW game. Nothing on cover and nothing in the Table of contents to say it was supposed to be there.

Apologies for the derail (but it seems there is nothing to report ATM), but what exactly is Ravage Magazine? I've heard a bit about it from various places, but I see that they appear to have content for multiple systems (X-Wing, Infinity) as well as reviews. Is it a licensed product, a truly independent effort, tool of alien invasion...?

Since WD has gone the way of... well, gone, a nice generalist gaming magazine seems a nice thing...

It is published by coolmini

Obviously they have a stake in some of the stuff they put in the magazine. It seems nice and has info provided from various game publishers/designers about their games. The magazine is nice glossy paper.

It's a CMON published english language version of a French gaming magazine, translating the best/most relevant to the US content of the French version, and adding some of their own too

the blurb at CMON says

"Product Description
Ravage, the premier French miniatures and table top gaming magazine, is now available in the U.S.A.! The only independent magazine in print catering to the fantasy and science fiction tabletop gamer, each bimonthly issue is chock full of reviews, previews, news, event coverage and painting how tos!"

Huh, so the material in the magazine would then seem to be "official", to such an extent as anything ever is I suppose. It's translated from French eh? Hmmm...

Really nice magazine, definitely worth a fiver a month. I missed it, but I think there were some scenarioes for Zombicide and other stuff in one of the early issues?

But yes its at least 50 times better than current WD, there is even coverage of current GW models/books (alongside other releases in the industry) in the form of reviews which is obviously a more impartial attempt at coverage.

As for the KS timings etc, come on guys, anyone getting on board of these crazy projects should assume from the start that, well... schedules are hardly accurate and many things can change the most well planed project... that's the difference between investing on a KS or buying something already produced and on sale.
Even when things are already on the shops sometimes there's not enough stock levels or distribution sucks... So yes if you have issues with being flexible towards where you put your money then just don't invest.

I agree with most of your post, but to be fair, the timings given for Sedition Wars should have been accurate - McVey himself has said that he's project managed a lot of stuff from China, and CMON have put together boxed product before (SDE). Even before the printer issues came to light, it appeared to be running late, and for us backers, we expected that guys with this level of experience would be accurate with their timings, particularly as this was probably the first Kickstarter for a lot of people (it was my first). With SW, I'm chalking it up to lessons learned.

NOW, with newer Kickstarters, I take it into account, and it seems so do a lot of the KS creators giving themselves a lot longer to deliver (witness the delivery time on KD).

Indeed - if I were thinking of running a KS at any point, I'd look at the planned timeline, then add a buffer of a couple of months to the end, just in case anything unexpected happens.

Better the under-promise and over-deliver, and all that jazz...

Indeed... the feeling I get is that now client is more aware of how these miniatures projects can and do slide because now you have a direct interest in the early steps of development.

Project Update #73: USA containers are here!
Posted by CoolMiniOrNot Like

We're sorting out the shipping assembly line now, and will have batch uploads of tracking info starting next Tuesday and expect to have all USA and rest of the world shipped out next week. Please do not send emails or PMs about shipping info next week, we'll update again once everything that's eligible to ship has gone out.

For European backers, the containers have not yet hit and we'll continue to monitor it, but expect them next week (as mentioned in the previous update).

Here's quick pic for your delectation.

Now I'm exited to see my stuff arrive either next week or the week after!

Now, after I've gotten all those extra models with my Biohazard pledge, does anyone know when we will be able to download the "Quarantine" and "Lights Out" campaigns?

MORE NEWS, as you know if you've been getting the updates from KS the US/ROW shipments are in and due to start shipping tuesday 7th Jan

Well Mike posted this on the Studio McVey forum today

Okay - just had definite word on the UK shipment.

Sorry for the delay on this - it's been very hard to get any information over the Christmas break. Shipping offices have been closed and people have been away from their desks. I didn't want to post until I had concrete information.

The good news is - the shipment arrived last week, and is currently sitting in the UK warehouse ready to be shipped out to backers. They are just waiting for the custom shipping boxes to arrive (which is imminent) and will start shipping out orders any time now.

More news as soon as I have it.

cheers!

mike

so the UK/EU stuff is in and will start going out as soon as the shipping boxes are in/assembled

Yay

Another update of sorts:

So looks like both the USA and the UK warehouses are in a race to ship out this week (and possibly into next week). UK has less to ship, but still needs some packing materials, so we'll see who gets done first.

European backers, we'll update again when shipping begins proper and batch emails start going out. That is all, CMON out.

I think it will, Orlando, and look at it this way- once there's actual non-KS-only-news (such as things going up for preorder, or even maybe greens posted in a non-KS setting) those can be put in N&R.

But for the "the boat's in the water!" type updates I think it makes sense to keep it in it's appropriate section for KS-only discussion

My beloved Dreamforge Games one is over in Misc Miniature Games, after all! Hopefully there will be actual news to report soon, though, as I expect his items to go out for retail sale soon after the rewards are shipped next month.

Best case by my understanding is that CMON starts shipping today. For Zombicide many folks either never got a tracking number or got it after the game was delivered. Lack of tracking numbers won't be a surprise for this.

I'd actually almost prefer it that way. That way there is just going to be a massive box waiting for me at home as opposed to me anal retentively and anxiously refreshing the tracking number page.

Honestly it doesn't matter to me either way. I'm just not going to be disappointed if I don't get a tracking number this week or next, since I honestly am not expecting one.

I doubt it would work for me anyway. Just as long as they remember to send it to Australia and not Austria, like the last time Amazon was involved.

I'm so excited. It'll be good to finally get one of the projects I kickstarted. Since I'm pretty sure I'm never getting that AoW standard bearer . Though Dreamforge should be in this month too!!!!! I can't wait!!!

If it's packaged anything like Zombiecide was, you're going to be supremely impressed. Zombiecide was packages perhaps the most professionally of anything I've ever received in the mail.
