Yep, the 26th, and I asked- for some reason, they deemed that none of the other non-limited stuff would be options (tiles, models, etc.). No idea why.

my guess is this new shipment only has the stuff for the KS backers plus the terrain which is coming in in larger quantities for retail sales

so they can't open up the pledge manager for other stuff in case they don't have enough stock to fulfil everything

In order to prevent more delays, it's probably for the best that they don't allow people to shift around their orders too much.

Please, no. I have been married for a year in the time it has taken from pledging to getting even a glimmer of my Wave 2 stuff.

Small bit of news the mini drones have been cast in hard plastic rather than restic, the molds took longer to make hence there being no pictures of them with the other wave 2 minis but they are finished and will ship with wave 2 - I still don't know when that is before anyone asks but production is finished and shipping was being booked last week that's as much as I know oh other than the Terrain sets will not be on the that shipment they are 2 weeks behind and will follow on separately if you ordered terrain sets this may delay your shipping a bit longer I say may as I don't know the plan for dealing with this delay. If the shipping has been organised and underway it's likely that they can make the August shipping date although it would probably be the last week of August it's likely that most people won't see wave 2 until September but this is my best guess not something I've been told.

Thanks for the info. I added a rulebook, thankfully those are already printed so at least it won't delay my order any further.

Shipping mini-update

Update #104 · Jul 30, 2013 · 1 comment

We've got the extra and optional figs in the air to our distribution centers, with the terrain packs to follow shortly in a separate shipment. Once they get into the warehouse and are kitted we'll update again.

(I guess plastic minis are far cheaper to ship by air than huge boardgames, this makes the projected wave 2 dates sound realistic, and may well explain why tiles were not available this time round)

Except the new tiles must have been printed and shipped a while ago, as they are in the box sets CMON is currently selling.

I'm in the same boat. I just want my mini's. Then I'll figure out if I'm going to paint them or just put them in a box somewhere to be discovered by our ape overlords.

Yep. I'd like to want to paint them, or even play the game, but there's too much other stuff to paint that doesn't make me annoyed when I look at it. Just get me my stuff so I can forget about it for awhile.

I'm still excited about it. I've yet to play a game, but the terrain will make it an easier sell for some of my friends/aquaintances

I feel like Relic Knights is going to suffer a similar frustration level overriding the want to play with cool minis effect... it's unfortunate. Some of these campaigns should probably have just stuck to their guns / initial offerings, and resisted the stretch goal syndrome that Kickstarter brings! Using additional funds to better fulfill the initial offerings, rather than add new ones that inevitably add complexity, quality issues, and delays...

...it is easy to say that with 20/20 hindsight, but I think it could just as easily be said that the campaigns wouldn't have been as successful, and the backers wouldn't have been as excited or happy, if that was the case.

Delays are what they are.

As long as the final quality is there, delays are...OK.

That's probably the real lesson to be learned.

Don't cut corners on quality, even if it means...delays!

+1

Like you said, 20/20, but I feel like SW would have been way more successful if they'd released the beta rules as PDF only around or before the KS 1st wave, then had the print rules eventually sent with the second wave.

Even if it had taken longer, a shaky beta and some delays would have probably done better than fewer delays and a shaky 1st edition

I am under the impression, having a passing acquaintance with one of the playtesters, that what he saw, and what came out in the printed game rules were somewhat different.

Totally agreed guys, and not saying I could have seen it coming necessarily! Just a lesson for future campaigns (theirs or others!) etc etc

My terrain will be painted up (at some stage, but way before the boardgame is played) and stored to use in Rogue Trader et al.

Well, particularly if they're stock of the "first edition", you can't blame them for trying to shift them cheap before the second ed comes out, making those next to worthless. Sadly, I think the godawful quality control (in terms of rules, playtesting, etc more than the figures, warped board and delays, etc) has pretty much killed this game before it had a chance to get going.

Also made it pretty much worthless to try to get rid of if you are having second thoughts.

Literally right now it is still in the box (only opened to inspect the contents), and about the only urge I have for it right now is to use the Vanguard troops and characters for the 40K setting. I figure they would make a really cool Imperial Navy boarding party/etc for games of In the Emperor's Name (an indie ruleset themed in 40K).

From what another disgruntled poster mentioned several months and dozen pages back, he wasn't getting much offered for his copy on the secondary market anyways and was lamenting not getting zombicide as an investment instead. I think personally getting into a KS just to make a profit isn't a sound "business" practice but that is a discussion discussion best left for another thread.

Naw, getting into a KS just to make cash is pretty jerky. It's just unfortunate, though, that if you are having second thoughts and want to pass the game on like me, I figure I'm going to take about a 75% hit on what I spent on the KS, even for a brand new product, because there just isn't much demand for the game, if any.

Thats why I've been hesitant to get in on KS in the past until recently. I'm of the mind that you should get in on one because you should believe in the IP/product AND believe you personally are getting a good value for your money. I liked what I saw in the Warzone KS but didnt see the value as a backer so didn't pledge. If you got a good value in the first place, that takes alot of the sting out of a game that didnt end up taking off post-KS.

No, it's not. Nobody loses because unlike a scalper, you are not denying someone else the opportunity to buy the product. If a hundred would-be resellers buy in, they'll just cast an extra hundred of the limited release miniature. The only people acting like jerks in this situation are the manufacturers for expecting people to jump through hoops to buy their product, not the resellers who jump through the hoops so that you won't have to.
