Battle Lust and Calamity? I guess they want hogs to kill high armor;

MAT 8 POW 20s + 4d6 charge damage is gonna put a dent in most things

Heck, that might even be a viable assassination attempt---charge up--pop feat to bring back a couple of hogs--bring them back within 3--cast calamity on caster, cast Battle Lust on a hog....

That's (assuming speed 5)---8 + 3 + 2ish for base threat range for 2 MAT 8 POW 18s with 3d6 damage and 1 POW 17? Sounds viable.

You mean 5+3+2ish. You can't force that turn if they're brought back, so no Charge.

Edit: Whoops, forgot about the Animus allowing a free charge, though that's gonna pretty much be Midas' entire Fury allotment just to get one Hog(that can't buy more attacks) on the target.

I wasn't using an animus--I was just doing;

5 inches + 3 inches for Midas to charge whatever you throw in front of him to get extra movement
Pop feat, cast spell on enemy caster--place Hogs within 3 inches (total 11 inches so far)
Resolve attack against your own
Hog base is 2ish and it's within not completely within---so there's another 2 inches (total 13 inches so far)
1/2 inch reach--so a pretty secure 13 inches

So two War Hogs--that's 6 attacks, all boosted by Calamity--1/2 boosted by Lust

Well, it's not crazy threat range--but for hogs it's ok!

The idea of Slaughterhouses under battle lust is pretty funny too. MAT 10 on the charge with 5d6 POW 13s against something damaged/calamity will make someone sad face

Ah, ok. And you get a bit further with the Hogs' movement, too. It's pretty brutal.

Yep. I'd say it beats out pThag's Feat handily. I'd much rather deal with a single full health Legion beast than 3 wounded Hog heavies. Barring outlier situations, of course.

Doh, I read that as could not be forced or advance that turn--in that case, that's 17 inches of threat with a couple of beasts! Or 19 inches threat with a whole pigpen full of Razorboars

Part (or all? I forget) of Midas' Theme Force bonuses were spoilered by if I recall a fairly reliable source. The part I remember, because its really weird out of context, was that he got a free dead beast. Exactly what that means is unknown, though it does make more sense given the rumored Feat we've heard about.

That sounds like a really cool feat. But it also makes them quite vulnerable, when all the beasts come back and can't be activated. Or am I missing something?

They can be activated. They just can't be forced. The only time they can't be activated is if you killed them yourself (or via freestrike or similar) during the turn you pop the feat.

I think Thaggy is feeling a little jealous, but we'll have to see what else the caster brings to the table as well. Thagrosh in and of himself brings a good toolkit, a nasty debuff and can be a good beatstick. I'm a too tired atm to dig through books to figure out what Midas' spells do so I can't comment on him.

I can't wait to get my hands on it and I was feeling the same way about Grim, but my mind is a bit more at ease now that his feat has been spoilered (which I personally really like, since it's quite different than any of trolls' other feats, and allows us to run a shooty list without relying so heavily on an impaler's Snipe animus).
