Fantasy has sold less than 40k for a long time. Maybe not in your area, but globally 40k has been their flagship game since at least 3rd edition.

Not since they invented 40k I guess
But this is not a thread for general discussion on your feelings for this game or its general popularity.

If it is Lizardmen, I really hope they re do the base plastics and move away from derpy cartoony dinosaurs into something more like the Dark Elf Cold Ones.

yeah I can easily see that happening. Plastic salamanders would be a nice plus, heck maybe a new type of lord? Combat slann! With karate chop action

I guarantee that Saurus and Skinks are not getting redone.

Cold Ones and the rares might. Plastic Slann kit would be nice. It's an army I'd certainly consider starting again if the new models for it are decent.

Aye, they were my first Fantasy army and I still have a big soft spot for them.

No current plastic kit will likely be redone anytime soon. We saw none of that in all of the latest releases.

Despite some armies needing it terribly (High Elves 6th edition plastics are terrible).

In a Forum over here in Germany, there has been recently stated, that by hearsay a retailer told:
LM are definitely coming in August.

The release contains the AB and "only" two or three new releases in total. There hasn't been any information, if "new releases" means two or three boxes and whether the boxes are only single kits or contain at least one dual kit. What we know is, that one of those boxes contain Terradons and maybe something additional. So it is still unclear, if i.e. a own magic lore can be expected and if one of the new releases means cards for the new magic lore.

The reason, why the retailer shared this info, was that he is going on vacation during the normal preordering phase, so he gave it a bit earlier to ensure an on-date delivery.

To sum up, very little can be contributed, but I think, we should not be so doubtful. A lack of rumour doesn't mean per se there will be no release at all...

Nope.

We need lizardmen.

FACT.

All your pointy ears and round bellies have all sorts of units designs to pull from.

Mine are all buck nekkid save for whatever scraps leftover from dinner they've covered themselves with.

Our big powerhouse? A grotesquely obese tub of lard that flings a few spells when he feels like it.

Or overpriced dinosaurs that we don't have much variety of.

At the very least I'd hope to see plastic kroxigors, maybe a few new heroes... I guess a plastic Slann wouldn't be that bad.

OR... maybe they'll graduate to wearing something to the battlefield. What I wouldn't give to see GW make some lizardmen more along the lines of Reaper's Reptus armies...

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Three new boxes? OK, here's my guess:

Terradon / Coatl dual box.
Carnisaur monster cav
Thunder Lizard / some-other-giant-dino

So many games, so little time.

So many models, even less time.

Screw it, Netflix and chill.

Yeah, that's pretty much the trend

I'll just be glad to have Slann not be stupid powerful anymore, hopefully opening up a greater variety of viable army builds.

I would hardly blame a unit for the failings of a new edition. They made magic so prevalent that it became an extremely viable option, and people don't seem to understand that Slann go off like any other wizard when they do eventually miscast (save for one item, which costs a bomb and can still fail, and a lore of magic that is pretty much defence-only). People also don't seem to understand that the Slann is also the biggest danger to a Lizardmen list, if you miscast in a unit of Temple Guard, say goodbye to a bunch of them. However I will digress and get back on topic.

It would be good to see Kroxigors as one of those plastic units, perhaps dual-kitted with some other Monstrous Infantry. If they get those right they can push them like mad, whereas a carnisaur infantry unit will be horrendously expensive (probably as much if not more than Mournfang) and the lack of ability to make them troops/all cavalry list will see to it that their sales aren't fully realized.

However given the detail on the Stegadon kit, any Thunderlizard model had better be pretty damn impressive (and hopefully not a he-man action figure).

Wouldn't this be the tfourth Army Book for LM in as many editions? I go as far to say they should really get on something else. As much as I would jump right in for dwarves I'd love to see GW throw some support for dying armies.

Agreed, Ehsteve, that Kroxigors would be a sweet kit!

....but no, a Slann with cupped hands doesn't get sympathy from me about a miscast (particularly with, as you say, lore of life as extra protection against it)

I asked for no sympathy, just understanding

I guess the reason they are only doing so few releases for lizardmen is that so much of their range is already plastic (templeguard, skinks, saurus, cold one cavalry) that there isn't really that much left to add on.

I'm still waiting for them to add a chameleon kit which allows you to build blowpipe/exploding acid toad throwing skinks. Their location in Lustria should give them access to some of the wildest the weirdest units in the WHFB world, but they were so recently trumped by the eagle-drawn flying chariot bolt thrower. For shame GW, for shame
