The most primary goal for me in the Dvergr line are the Hjalmar ( lightly armoured troops ) Stout Bows ( Archers ) and Huscarls ( Elites ) so yes you will see them in the next campaign. I LOVE sculpting Dwarves so I cannot wait to get back to that particular faction.
Sounds very cool! Like I said I am mostly/only interested in "units" of models, as to play a large scale game having 30 dwarfs of the same pose in a unit does not work :-/. But this sounds great... I will be watching with great interest, and hopefully going in for at least some, depending on the timing (I have invested heavily in a few kickstarters and the funds are getting a bit low!)
But, if you're able to make several different types of units of dwarfs, I can almost guarantee that I'd be getting a ton of them- maybe just a few in the Kickstarter, but much more later to fill out an army with, if the options were available to do so.

Update #37 · Oct. 09, 2012 · 15 comments
Hey-Diddly-Ho-There!!
Just got a nice big box full of goodies from Ed and wanted to get the pics up here to whet your appetites.
And figured now woudl be a good time to update you guys on Conradt's Warp form and the Horses and Red Olga.
Hmmm......Seems there is something else int he back groudn there.....wonder what that might be?? Two handed Swordsman??
There it is again.... Looks liek maybe there are a lot more armatures waitign their turn as well.......What is that? seven armatures ready for sculpting?
And again....... Hmm... Looks kind of Heroic...... and Njorn-ish..... And actually thinking on that idea a bit. That WAS the clear winner in the " what would you MOST like to see int he next KS campaign. I'll bet that 3 new Heroes and 4 footmen would be a GREAT way to start off a Njornan campaign. What do you guys think??
Cheers,
Tre'

Oh well I hoped somebody else would post this to get the thread to shoot back to the top, but since nobody has.....
Update #38 · Oct. 12, 2012
Not sure which one this is as I will have to go back and see which was which but here you see the first of the four at about the 95% done mark. Next up will be the skulls, bones, chains and riders legs.
On a less than positive note I think the delivery of packages containing the Horsemen will slip into Early November. I should have extended the delivery date in the kickstarter descriptions. I was overly optimistic. I apologize for any inconveniences this might cause anyone. On a more positive note though the first round of packages will be going out next week!
Ed and I both are really looking forward to people's reactions to the product so be sure to let us know what you think!
Cheers,
Tre'
Looking very nice, it's good to see a 'heavy' horse rather than a sculpt that looks closer to a modern racehorse.
I also hope Tre decides to go for separate legs for the riders, instead of moulding them onto the horses as that will give a bit more flexablility for dioramas etc

Yup, draft horses are much better for battle than thoroughbreds. I'm really looking forward to these, I could only squeeze in one of each rider though. Once the final images are up I might run them past my wife for QA as she is a massive horse nut.

Another sneek peek at a trollcast figure
this is one of the Red Box Games KS wolves (I think Fenris, not one of the dire wolves)
that the caster, Ed from Trollforged has just shown to demonstrate what the material can do for his own KS

Thanks Orlando and Grefven!
RiTides, what you are seeing here are masters cast in a SLIGHTLY different material. The material is transparent when first mixed so Ed has add a LOT of colour to it. The masters material does nto cure as quickly as the production casts material but Ed is working on how to fix that. other than colour a small degree of strength there is no difference between the two materials.

No. As far as I know outside of Ed's own Trollsforge figure RBG is the only line of figures being produced in this material.

Wow, if he is truly the only one in the world doing this... he should do one of a few things:
1) Patent it...? Or, I guess just use it as a trade secret
2) Start casting full-time instead of his "regular" job, if he isn't already doing so?
I know he has his own kickstarter for his own models... but if he's going to spend time sculpting, maybe he can hire someone to spin the molds! This stuff looks like it has amazing potential.

I think he's already working on patenting it (or has already done so).
As for full-time casting. I think at the end of the day his passion is with sculpting, which was the whole reason why he began his own Kickstarter.

Agreed, but if he's got a secret method that no one else knows, he owes it to at least license it to somebody or something
Is there any concern for RBG's plans for another Kickstarter, or even continued production / keeping up volume, with Ed's planning to take some time off to do his own sculpting?
That was another reason for my mentioning an assistant/apprentice, if the costs warranted it.

As of now he has assured me that there is no sacrfice of one for the other. I do respect Ed's wishes to get back to sculptign more often and he is workign to get Brian up to speed to handle the casting side of production whilst he handles the moulding side of things. We have talked about several different possibilities but rest assured the next RBG kickstarter won't be compromised. One way or another we will work it all out.
Cheers guys!

New Update from Tre,
Hey ya'll,
Sorry for the silence lately. I think I definitely over estimated my ability to get the Horsemen done by the End of October. I WILL have them finished this week but it may be a little while yet before Ed can get them molded. Ed informs me that ALL other masters are done and that he will be casting and finishing production molds for several other items this week. The only items waiting now are the Standard bearer ( I need to make some adjustments for the sake of production reliability that will see that figure being much more modular than originally anticipated. ) the Musician's horn ( I have to change the shape of the horn from curving around his back to being more of a one handed horn type insturment. ), And then the Conradt Warp form, horses and hel rider parts. The COnradt Warp form and horses which are finished will be headed to him today and I SHOULD get the last horse and all of the rider parts finished by friday.
In the Mean time I have here some pics fro your approval. Hope yo uliek the way Conradt developed. I sure as hell do!
That rider leg set looks sweet (I do apreciate the stirrups, nice to know he can control his horse ), and Conrad looks a real monster

Hehe, Orlando beat me to the punch!
Really liking the way that Conradt came out, amazing work there!
The horses are also stupendous, I just don't personally have a use for them quite yet. Of course, once they come out and I see them "in the flesh", so to speak, that may change...

Just pondering....
I know the next Kickstarter from RBG is planned to have a firm focus, but it could also be worthwhile to allow people to choose from the items created in this first Kickstarter as pledge rewards as well. It works out to be money in Tre's pocket either way, and people who aren't interested in the new KS range, or who are now more interested in (say) the Cavalry or Wolves, or those who missed the first KS entirely will have an excuse/reason to jump on board.

Hm.. last update was a week ago, so I presume Tre' is still working on the horses. While I'm not upset, the projected delivery date was now October, then "shipping by October", and now.. well, the Horses have to be cast first, right? As I said, observations. Only relevant in light of the fact that Tre seems to be dead set on starting the next KS in the middle of November (around next week). I dunno about many of the rest of you, but a week before Christmas isn't exactly the time when I'd be welcoming a big chunk of money coming out of the bank to pay for models. Tre seems quite worried about the KS well running dry, but with Reaper's earliest "ship dates" now 2 months on, Dreamforge looking to be 2-3 months late, Sedition Wars looking likely to be 1-2 months late, and his own RBG KS looking to be 1-2 months late from original projections.. and most of all, Christmas about to hit, both KS and IGG are dead to me until January at the earliest.
And even then only after I start to see some returns. The only things I'm thinking I might see this year now are a few figures from Mongoose (last update over 2 weeks ago) and Mantic's Dreadball (who might actually deliver, based on the KoW stuff going out on time).
But yeah, ending a Kickstarter a week or so before Christmas just doesn't seem that well planned to me. Especially given the slightly older demographic that seems to be going in on these will often have families that are going to take extra financial priority over (more) toys for ones' self at that point in the year.

A small update from Tre in the KS comments
Creator tre manor about 23 hours ago
the first roudn fo packages will go out tomorrow. Sorry this is taking so long. I have been trying to wrap up the horses and that has taken MUCH longer than I originally anticipated. Horses are FINALLY done and all that is left is the torsos and heads for the riders which should only take a couple days to finish. After that I will be concentrating full bore on the fulfillment and the next KS.
Cheers ya'll and thanks for your patience!
Tre'
So the first shippage should have happened,
and the light at the end of the tunnel for the horses can be seen
and I do agree that mid November (or later, KS approval seems to be taking longer now) may not be the best time to launch a KS

I know that the timing is not optimal for everyone and I am keepign that in mind whilst watching the current crop of kickstarters. I do sincerely apologize for the slip in ship dates. I over estimated my ability to handle both the sculpting AND the kickstarter aftermath and regular business of running RBG. I won't let it slip much further though. I am shipping out what i can fill today and tomorrow and then as the rest of the items arrive I will be shipping those out as they come in. So unless you had the horses in your order you should have your KS order by the end of November and if you DO have the horses in your order you should have those by early to mid December depending upon where you are.
The next KS...... yes timing is everything but unfortunately there does nto really seem to be an optimal time in the kickstarter equation. One thign to bear in mind. ED may be expanding his operation BUT he is going to have a LOT of companies beating down his door for his services.... he already does..... so if I want to keep him as a partner I need to pony up the money to buy his time. And as the amount of money other companies wave at him increases so to does the amoutn of money that I need to wave at him to keep him interested and happy.
Ed is GREAT guy and GREAT friend. I am truly blessed to count myself amoungst his friends and I know what friendship means to Ed....... but he has a family to support and a business to run. I want to see Ed get filthy rich and I want to make sure that MY company is one of those that helps make that happen.
It is not so much a question of KS running dry ( which I do think it will ) it is more a question of Ed's schedule filling up before I can buy a spot.

I totally agree that ending a KS close to Christmas might cause problems for some, as they might be a bit low on money. Early Swedish estimations of how much swedes will spend on Christmas is around $1000.
I don't know the KS that well, but perhaps it is possible to extend the KS? So instead of running a 30 days campaign, perhaps it would be possible to run a 45 days one?
Either way, I'm not gonna buy a Christmas present for myself this year, but will put it into Tre's KS instead.
