You seriously think GW wouldn't raise prices on what you buy just because they made profits on another thing you don't buy?

This is the company that just doubled the price on Dire Avengers for no reason whatsoever. They already make ridiculous profit on their products. They schedule price increases every year far beyond the rate of inflation just because they feel like it. The only thing that will ever stop GW from raising prices is if apologists stop buying from them. Or possibly a black hole swallowing the Earth.

If those rules are correct, I'm glad to see that Crimson Hunters aren't flyer squadrons, and are still limited to 1 model per unit. I did not want to see whoever has the most money win games by taking Wraithknights and flyer squadrons.

But, I am disappointed to see that Eldar Harlequins get a different rule for the Shadowseer again!?!? Ugh, didn't we have to deal with this mess before?

the crimson hunters are armor 10 all around with nothing to protect them save jink and holofields (which they have to buy)

Just a bunch of questions:
Do all Aspects get an Exarch by default?

Are Warlocks still Ld8 W1? Heres hoping they are Ld9 so they can actually act as squad leaders and cast their huge new range of powers properly

Are the missile upgrades for Reapers straight swaps or are they additional ammo types? What is their base ammo?

Can Wraithguard mix and match D Scythes and Wraithcannons? Similarly can Wraithblades mix and match 2 weapons vs 1 weapon and shield?

Do Wraithlords still have 2A?

Can Warlocks (or any squad Warlock can join) get access to power weapons or do they still have Witchblades (and are Witchblades still the same)? That +1 S power seems rather pointless if the only thing you can use it on are Warlocks who wounds on 2+ already, Wraithguard who are already S5 and Guardians who suck terribly in assault no matter what.

Any updates to Shining Spears (I haven't seen anything about them or Jetbikes)?

Probably the most important question, are Serpents assault vehicles (or is there anything for any of the assualt Aspects that gives them an equivilent ability)? If they aren't then literally none of the changes to Banshees and Scorpions matter anyway.

warlocks with power weapons no (he hasnt posted what gear does yet though)))-- lots of other power weapons, including storm guardians being able to take two fo them.

shining spears are cheaper, get haywire lances (no idea yet) bunch of other stuff, they seem cool.

serpents are not assault ---- (no one got one dude why would they?) the serpent shield turns pens into glance on 2+ (also it can atk) The scorpions got alot better, banshees.....not so much so far but not all the special rules have been gone over.

After reading through all the rumors, provided they're accurate, I am happy to see Phil did a great job. Wave Serpents are even better than they were. The energy shield is great, though there is the trade off. Not overly surprised that the flyer is 10/10/10. Only Imps get that sexy armor 11 and 12. Time to start assembling my Scorpions. What do you guys think about Pathfinders having precision shot 5+? I think it's cool though at 25pts per guy is pretty costly. Can't wait to get my damn book and stuff...

The latest rumor didn't say that Pathfinders were precision shots on 5+, but that they were all precision shots, just like Illic.

Fine... Necrons and Dark Eldar have AV 11 flyers... Happy now? I should have stuck with AV 12 but I didn't think it had the same impact. /sigh
I wonder if we'll see more Scorpions now. They seem pretty amazing.

Not impressed with a 115$ MC that has to sacrifice it's shooting to gain a weak invul save tho.

it still has 2 shoulder cannon heavy weapons and a jetpack......

it can alo get the invuln sav with the suncannon.

The new powers are ridiculous considering how many psykers you can put on the field. Warlocks are going to be the backbone of the army.

This is just one nasty thought I already had:

Warlock w/Primaris (the shrouded one)
5 Flamer armed Wraithguard (Assuming AP2)
Wave Serpent

The Wave Serpent would have a 3++ Cover Save and downgrades any pens that get thru to a glance on a 2+. Turn 1 it moves 30" to wherever it needs to go, turn 2 debark and make people sad. For 300pts.

Or 20 Guardians w/2 Scatter Lasers and a Primaris Warlock. The Scatter Laser twin-link the BS4 Shrurikens and the unit has a 3++ cover save for just over 200pts.

Lots of possibilities that I'm seeing right now.

Like Hulksmash says the Wraithguard seem great as do some of the psykers. The Wave Serpent is overly expensive still for just a transport but has gained something useful atleast.

The Wraith Knight having a jump pack and being a S10 MC with 4 base attacks makes it seem as a first mpression that this is actually a close combat machine. I assume the sword gives it something useful and if the shield gives it 5+ invulnerable atleast it's essentially a Flying Hive Tyrant on steroids. Mobile, T8 W6 I5, instant kills everything and has enough attacks to chew through Marines atleast. If the sword is crap then you'd take the suncannon and just use it to pop some light stuff with that and two scatter lasers or star cannons and then get into combat.

Other than that, no matter what people in that thread keep saying, I'm underwhelmed by the rest of the stuff. Most of the stuff is either too expensive, not deadly enough, too fragile, or lack a proper delivery mechanism (no assault ramps etc) to function. The flyers seem OK since they are armed well but armor 10 is an absolute joke for stuff that costs nearly 200 points. 35 point Rhinos have armor 11, and as far as flyers are concerned I'd take a TL Tesla Destructor over two bright lances any day and that thing comes with AV11 for 100 points.

If he can't get a jump pack or another movement speed increase what's he ever going to achieve?

I'm thinking Scorpions are going to be ridiculous. The ability to cast shroud on them and they already have stealth and move through cover means they are going to actually make it to assault. They don't need an assault transport.

I think the Wave Serpent is actually going to be way more reliable to deliver units than it used to be.

If powers can be cast on friendly units and not just Eldar units it's going to be totally crazy.

Was it confirmed that warlocks can join any unit? Some posts seemed to indicate that warlocks can be only attached to guardian, storm guardian, and gaurdian jetbike units.

Ld8 Warlock is pretty annoying, defeats the point of them being squad leaders for Guardians and with Embolden not being a guaranteed you can't even use psychic powers to help with that now.

3 attacks base for Wraithlords is a major buff, against the vast majority of stuff S8 it heaps, and with smash you still end up with 2 S10 attacks as before except now you re-roll armour pens as well.

Scorpions might be usable with Fleet and Infiltrate, but Banshees aren't going to be much use - there is just no way they can survive a turn in the open (+ overwatch) against any half decent opponent.

wraithknight sword is +1s ap2 master crafted

avatar has fleet.... 5 wounds and toughness 6.....and his pyrobody thing from before. thats how he survives

If you want fearless guardians from a warlock all you need to do is take a truck load of them, one of them will roll a 2! and since you can take two sets (1 per HQ OF ANY TYPE) i think you will succeed....they are 10pts more expensive now though

scorpions are usable for sure they infilitrate! turn 2 charge!! and they are resilient with stealth and armor 3+ for a very cheap cost. Also scorpion claw is not unwieldly....fun times

Do you know if the Seer Council as an independent unit is any good now? If it can come at a reasonable price and still gets rerollable 4+ invulnerables and can load up on some new and useful psychic powers it could work like it did back in the day.
