I put into this for the paint sets they've got running. Can't beat the prices or the free shipping in the US.

It's a premium paint line right up there with Vallejo, Citadel, P3, etc.,. In fact, it may be slightly better.

Balance in pick up games? Two people, each with their own goals for the game, design half a board game on their own without knowing the layout of the board and hope it all works out. Good luck with that. The faster you can find like minded individuals who want the same things from the game as you, the better. |

I'd put the quality slightly above the pre-146 Citadel paints and just below vallejo model range. They were nice and thin straight out of the bottle, good metallics with very fine flakes (unlike their Pro Paint line, terrible metallics from that), decent coverage and a great selection of colors. Some of the trios are awesome and shade each other perfectly, some are too similar or too big a step and still require mixing to get smooth shadows and highlights. I wouldn't call it the best paint out there, but it's very good stuff.
The bottles are wonderful. Very close to Vallejo style bottles, but the caps are not interchangable and they are just a bit shorter. They do clog easily which you can fix by drilling out the nozzle with a pin vice (it's actually the bit of plastic at the base of the nozzle piece that causes the issues). The nozzles on Vallejo bottles will sometimes come loose and stick to the cap when you open them, I have many times poured half a bottle onto my palette before realizing it and I have never had that happen with the reaper bottles. Reaper sells empty bottles 3 for $3 USD, great for storing custom mixes. They also seal very well, I transfered all my citadel paints into them years ago and they're still usable.

I ran some of the numbers for import duty/tax for the UK on my blog if people are interested. Should be fairly similar to other EU countries I believe.

I had my pledge up there around 650+. then I had to back off and drop it down to around 385, or so.
Too many Kickstarters, not enough time.

Reaper paint = awesome, simple as that. Also 1/2 off retail is an amazeing price.
As for actual reasons coverage and viscosity are good out of the bottle, washes are stupid easy to create if you have another bottle filled with your thiner of choice, and triads. Triads are sets of three paints where there's a mid tone, highlight and shadow. This means no need to mix colors for highlighting most of the time. Also the dropper bottles make costom colors easier to reproduce.
Edit because Reaper is creating a lot of discussing with this kickstarter.

Nah, we just have tapped out the Australian market - so it looks like it slowed down. The US is still in bed, and this being the weekend we will have 8 hours of solid primetime pledges.
The next stretch goal is likely to be more like this, however that is really sort of irrelevant. Reaper is doing an end of campaign event and they have several things planned which will be part of that event at specific times. I don't know the items or the times - but expect it to be something like at Noon...the remainder of the Pathfinder Iconics are added. At 1 PM Gauth is added as an option. At 2 PM mind flayers are added. At 3 PM a Hill Giant option is added.
Will it be those specific things at those specific times? Don't know. However, you will want to keep an eye on this once it is in the last 5 or 6 hours. Those reveals will probably start up around then (there is a "You are invited to..." video some place, that if it weren't god awful early I would link to which should give a good idea of the time though.

Not a fair comparison - videogames reach a FAR wider audience than board/card games, where I think Reaper is now #1 all time in terms of Kickstarters, and will probably remain there.

Sean speaking of tapping out the Aussies, it has just passed midnight here. So I'd gladly keep an eye on it, but will be asleep. Feeling a little jaded on this with the last announcement. There's a reason why not many Kickstarters do this sort of stunt, because you alienate the foreign market. Which often accounts for around 50% of the total. That's a lot of people to let down.
Luckily if recent goals are anything to go by we won't be missing much.
I'm probably just tired and it is way after my bed time so don't anyone take my cynicism to heart , this is just the last leg of a month long journey and I was hoping it would end in a better note. I am still in for around $400 and really looking forward to it, but not as hyped as I was a few days ago.

Think they should be OK. The big things should come with the timed releases - not the pledged releases. They are actually having an event at Reaper HQ (live webcast once it starts too) - and if they tried to figure out what the last would actually be based on pledges...that would be nearly impossible.
The familiars pack looks like it might have been a slip up - it is gone from the list right now (posted the wrong image or something like that). However, that is probably an indicator of the first free timed option. Will be popular with the RPG crowd and even useful for wargamers as something to detail out characters with.
Records are still breaking though. Already today they have nearly 1000 new backers and $200K in new pledges. Likely will see an entire Sedition Wars worth of pledges today alone. I understand that - and don't worry too much, they have designed their pledge manager to take the time zones into account. Anyone who is in for atleast Vampire or above will be able to pick up options after the fact that they wanted at the option price. Anyone who is not at that level though will not have the same pricing.
I think it comes down to the hard target of figuring out how to schedule these last reveals though. Dollar amounts would be impossible to end where they wanted to (not sure - but I am guessing something like Gauth). Timing them is really the only option. Be sure to have a look in the morning though. Should be a good amount of new stuff for you.

As noted, the charge is directly after the end of the campaign. However, I believe Reaper will be doing some sort of pledge manager that will allow you to add funds later for options. I believe that they also said that the pricing may be different unless you pledged Vampire or higher, but don't hold me (or them) to that.

Alph, I was referring to this page, where Kickstarter lists the most funded projects in terms of category. I agree, they should have a separate section for board games/miniatures rather than video games, but it's all combined.
Here it is as just the Games category, with Sedition Wars / Ogre / Zombicide sitting at 5/6/7 until this one goes final:
http://www.kickstarter.com/discover/categories/games/most-funded#p1
I don't know how to list most funded ever all as one list, but I believe it's just the Pebble watch that beat out those top video games, right? So other than that, it pretty much IS the "most funded" of any type list on Kickstarter.
