Just want the SDE figures, all 6 of them (assuming we hit the sgtretches needed)

then this is the update for you

Update #44 · Sep. 07, 2012 · 5 comments

The pledge level you want is Mercenary Charter ($50).

You'll be allowed to tradeback your Faction Starter for a $50 credit, allowing you to pick up the rest of the SDE figs!

Reminder: Shipping still applies on international pledges at this level.

Amended:- Does not included a Special Edition Miniatures choice, so the total for all 6 SDE would be $60.

So many people are going to be happy about that. A little late in the game though, they could have been nickel and diming $60 sales for over a week if they structured it correctly. Better late than never IMO!

THE FUN HAS BEEN DOUBLED!!!

Ah, but some will have decided the might as well get relic kights as well.

Now they pick up the folk who just wouldn't budge

That's cool glad they decided to do that for the people that want SDE only plus it helps the RK backers with their stretch goals.

To be fair there weren't exactly many SDE figs included until a couple of days ago, and we still don't have all of them.

Oh dear they could be about to royally mess this up! they are now talking about tying rulebooks to faction swap outs so you will only get $40 credit at GGEA for a faction and rulebook - this could turn ugly - awaiting confirmation from them.

You will lose the extra boost tokens if you trade in.

Creator CoolMiniOrNot about 1 hour ago

Yes you can use the CKPM to add funds later and if you trade GGtA and are left with 3 starters, you get 1 set of Boost Tokens. You can add another back in for $10.

Creator CoolMiniOrNot about 1 hour ago

Quick update - don't want to confuse everyone so it won't be a main update until it's over - trading in faction starters will start from the highest eligible value to the lowest (50/45/40). Stuff that is in the faction starter box will also be traded away (extra decks, tokens, character cards, qsr, playmats etc). Stuff that requires an entire Savior level (such as a the Boost Tokens) will be given at a rate of 1 per 2 Faction Starters, so those will also be traded away if you only have 1 Faction Starter left.

Creator CoolMiniOrNot about 1 hour ago

Your special edition figure allotment will not be affected (no change). Rulebooks - we're discussing whether they are tied to it, update shortly.

If the rule book trade ins go it will make a mess of my pledge,

and it looks like it hits international backers hard

but hopefully CMON will see it would cause too many problems if they took this away from us now

probably

They certainly need to make a final decision today.

we cant be trying to advise last minute backers with no idea how the trading will work

Just to clarify on the rulebook issue if you pledge GGEA and swap 1 or 2 factions you will lose 1 of the 3 rulebooks it's not available for trade for credit if you swap 3 or 4 factions you lose 2 rulebooks if you swap 5 or 6 factions you lose all rulebooks - that's what is now being proposed - THIS IS NOT CONFIRMED - it's what they are thinking of doing awaiting official update

That would be exceedingly...foolish. And very much a douche move this late in the game. If that happens, I hope the pledge amounts sink like a stone.

Messy business this stuff with the rulebooks. I know it would affect me greatly and have strong feelings about it.

Why in the world would you reward that behavior? You know what, don't answer that. You are obviously interested in the game and are certainly allowed to do as you like with your money. I guess all I'm saying is that rewarding them for this will only encourage more of the same later.

Never said I was going to add the extra $35 just what it would cost me under the new proposed rules. I will actually pull funds - not my pledge - if this happens.

My pledge will not happen if they change the rulebook trade in.

Sorry, once again, a significant issue with the KS here. Its been a week since they declared you could trade in rulebooks. Its in the FAQ. Many people have worked at how best to figure their pledge.

And now, 40-something hours left, they are going to change it. AND not but that on the KS page.

In a related topic, whatever happened to their Tenticle Bento KS?

If they change the established trade-in rules at the 11th hour I will be very disappointed and pull out my donation. I don't expect this to happen though. I think coolminiornot has the kickstarter experience and business sense to see that it will be a bad move to make such a change within the last three days of the campaign.

Since there is no cited source for the proposed changes I'm just going to call this a rumor that was likely founded on a misinterpretation. I hope so anyway.

Ditto. To the point where I abandon the whole thing and just get the smallest required pledge to get me the SDE minis and then walk away.

People made a big deal over nothing, so KS pulled it.

But they could do it without repercussions, right? If they make this change and the information isn't properly disseminated and the kickstarter closes, they're golden from my understanding of this. People will have been charged and they'll have the money (barring bank/creditcard disputes). KS has a disclaimer about not being liable for fulfillment of rewards.

Who has the final say over this kinda thing? Soda Pop or CMON? Seems like communication between them isn't the best.

That would be a bad move indeed - they might "get away with it" once, but they might be forever tarred with the 'they screwed us over" brush going forward.

CMON already has a slight tinge of a bad past hanging about, no way they want to further complicate matters.

Especially not with three VERY successful Kickstarters to date.

They'll want to continue with this - not cash in quick and fade away.

Only I would have to switch around my pledge and would be pretty pissed. One thing though I have learned from CMON in dealing with them in business is they are worse then GW, and that says a lot. I am a huge fan of these minis but I would be severly pissed because I don't likek back room board deals like that that screw over the customers.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

Hopefully they won't make any stupid changes - it could really kill the momentum and prevent any further stretch goals from being met. And I don't want to endanger getting the chibi One-shot!

I like that you can trade in the $50 (+add $10) to just get the SDE set if you want. But I still think Saviour is the way to go - as you're giving up an awful lot of stuff for $40. I'm planning on going for the Doctrine - and it's like 23 minis (some of them quite large - counting the starters plus the $25 and $10 boost) plus all the tokens, cards and whatnot included. Plus I'll have $10 left over to snag a cosplay too.

Even if you didn't want it at all - I'd choose a faction, get the boosts and relevant cosplay for it - I think you'd easily clear $40 profit on Ebay.

It's all good carry on the latest update says nothing about tying rulebooks the faction trades

Math redux - the ultimate combo!
Update #45 · Sep. 07, 2012 · comment

Here's a quick reiteration of what you can and can't do trading in your stuff.

Shipping

At no time may traded credit apply to shipping.

Credit may be applied to

Special Edition Miniatures
Optional Items
Additional Faction Starter ($50 each, +$15 for international shipping).

Mercenary Faction Starter

May trade in for $50 in credit to apply to Special Edition figures or Optional items
Applicable shipping charges still apply (i.e. $15 for international shipping)

Savior types Faction Starter

May trade in 1 Faction Starter for every 2 for $50/$45/$40 in credit for Savior, Double Savior and Got to Get Em All respectively. i.e. Savior will be 1 at $50, Double Savior 2 at $45 and GTGEA 3 at $40 each max.
Free Boost Tokens will be given only for every 2 Faction Starters, so if you trade away 1 Faction Starter at Savior, you will not get them for free, although you can still pick them up at $10 per set.

Hardback rulebooks

May trade in any number of hardback rulebooks for $35 value. Note, you'll need at least one to field the optional units properly
This does not apply to the $45 pledge level.

Multiple pledge rewards

Pledge the total amount for your pledge rewards. i.e. if you want 2 GTGEA pledge at least $540.
When trading in Faction Starters, the highest value will be traded first. e.g. if you have 1 GTGEA and 1 Savior, and trade 2 Faction Starters, you will get $50 + $40 in credit.

A special note about Faction Starters. There's a lot of play paraphernalia included that are part of each Faction Starter, such as Esper Decks, tokens, character cards, playmats etc. They will be traded away together with the Faction Starter.

Looks like the rulebook trade-in stands.

I am disappoint that they took away the Boost Tokens if you trade in a Faction Starter, though. Sucky move.

Not a huge change there. Just the boost tokens, and the removal of cards, character cards and whatnot when you trade away starter packs (which makes sense).

That's all cool (I never actually thought you'd get the cards tokens etc if you traded in the starter.

Glad the rule book trades are unchanged

Happy my pledge is OK i'll now incease it

I think the Boost Tokens are a significant deal. If you trade in a Faction Starter all of a sudden you are excluded from a previously free Stretch Goal? It taxing, literally, people that only want one faction starter; you only need one to play with someone else.

Excellent I completely over looked this bit

When trading in Faction Starters, the highest value will be traded first. e.g. if you have 1 GTGEA and 1 Savior, and trade 2 Faction Starters, you will get $50 + $40 in credit.

So your not forced to take 2 factions from GGEA first for $40 each - $80 you actually get the highest values first that's a nice clarification - I Actually just gained $5 in credit
