That's a good point - maybe someone should provide them with a link to the Real Thing?

Haha!

Ahh, Marie-Claude, proving that comic book proportions are sometimes just inadequate...

If anything, the sculpt may need some enlarging to match the real thing...

The next update is in!

Happy Monday everybody. Let's soothe the beginning of the week doldrums with another spirited verse from Santa Soda.

On the fourth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Star Nebula Corsair with a disturbing penchant for plunder, foul breath that is matched only by his personality, gimme yer stuff or you'll be sorry, bah humbuuuuuuuug!

Hello,
I am not a "pirate loving" type of guy, but I could see this guy in a Inquisitorial Retinue, as an henchmen.

Regards,
Carl

No, spraying three colors on your minis does not count as painted! 5k+

Today's update!

We're working feverishly on some new scenario rules at the moment that we're planning to get out to you before the holiday. Lets cut straight to the verse, so we can get back to delicious rules writing.

On the fifth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Noh Empire Render, eschewing traditional weaponry for fiendish technological ones that renders your poor sniveling human shell into goo in mere moments, so much for bringing this guy along to catch slaaaaaaaaves.

3D Renders don't get me terribly excited, especially after the Gabe-n-Tycho Face issue, but still, nice to see an update.

I just hope that a lot of the issues people were having with the rule set are getting worked out before the game releases...

This was disapointing as they had him posted on the KS when they launched :(. Still though happy to see Noh as I ordered them in my package.

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!

This!
Soda-claus has been bad!

that being said, this model was ironically the sole reason I ended up going for Noh as well ;-) So I like him a lot

Wow, seems like half the models they're "showcasing" make me wish I hadn't pledged. I don't even know where to start on today's creepy clown student thing.

Latest update!

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Six
Update #67 · Dec. 19, 2012

You remember that time? You know that time your mother dressed you and thought you were so adorable? Ya, that time. This next sculpt is dedicated to moms everywhere. We know your heart was in the right place and we love you all the more for it. May your holidays be full of cheer.

On the sixth day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a second Doctrine Novitiate who is in a really bad mood but secretly loves his school uniform, is going to hit those books hard and become the most power codifier ever, don't you dare tease him, oh the joys of high schoooooooool.

Face looks 'off' again.

Plus - clown shoes!

Glad I passed on Doctrine, so far...

I... wow, really? Really?

That's just so odd looking... I thought doctrine was supposed to be a mix of like Harry Potter-esque stuffy boarding school look and medieval wizard look. This is just clownish. I mean, even in the "song" they refer to his "school uniform". Is it clown school?

I actually like him, and I like how the eyes have been made to accomodate the anime style.

As to the shoes...large, I agree. But I couldn't help but think he was wearing big bunny slippers

I quite like him, but feel he's the weakest reveal so far

The worst part IMO is the skintight trousers look too thick (or the ankles are too thin)

I'd have a prefered a slighly less styalised face, but painted it will look good

and the picachu shoes are silly but fun

Hey all,

I am curious to the internets thoughts on this, I bought into this kickstarter, Savior level, but now I have no interest in this game, really dont like having all the Big Boobed models, perhaps its because i just had a little girl, just dont want those in the house. No judgement, just a personal call.

So if I was to pick factions to put this up on ebay after I get the box, what factions are the most popular?

Thanks for reading

Dunno if you've locked your pledge or not in the pledge manager - but if you haven't - I'd just trade in all the savior stuff and buy the limited edition cosplay stuff. I'm sure that will sell for a tidy sum on ebay. Otherwise - I would think the top two factions sales-wise would be a) black diamond (for people using them as guard proxies) and b) Cersei speed circuit (for breasts enthusiasts).

You could always just choose the modestly dressed Shattered Star faction too, if you wanted to keep the minis you sprung for three months ago.

New update, a Black Dragon sculpt!

The Twelve Days of Relic Knights: Day Seven
Update #68 · Dec. 20, 2012 · 6 comments

The holidays are serious bidness and that means you need a serious soldier. No one excels at the serious art of war better than Black Diamond. In honor of these stone-cold, guns for hire, lets have another verse.

On the seventh day of Relic Knights, Santa Soda gave to me -- a Black Diamond, Black Dragon, the elite of the elite, seriously these guys are so elite they could kill you will their pinky, never mind their state of the art power armor and weaponry, yours if the price is riiiiiiight.

Very nice. Quite happy to have gone with Black Diamond.

Yup those BD troops look good and certainly lend themselves to many other games too

(but they are the least 'unique' of the potential minis from the KS, being 'just power armour' humans so I'm finding it hard to get too excided about them....)

Mine are definitely getting painted up as Federation GMs. I'm really liking them.

That's a very good point: I went for BD is because a) I happen to like the military/police aesthetic they have going on, and b) if I ended up not liking the game itself, they seem like they are the figures most likely to be able to be blended into other game systems.

There would doubtless be some scale issues, but I could, for example, see using those Black Dragons in an Iron Core game, say.

Very few of the other factions seem to have the "cross-purpose" nature, as near as I can tell. Although if you consider using them in fantasy, Doctrine and Noh, and I suppose the mostly pirate miniatures, could be used in Warmachine for example. Hmmm... just had an idea for using the Corsairs for Cryx pirates....

Black Diamond are probably one of the more popular factions for the reasons you've stated. But I believe it's also important that at the end of the day you're happy with the purchase you've made and ultimately with the models themselves. Regardless of where my BD troops end up, I'm happy with what they look like (from what we've seen, at least).

Now if only we could get more info on Sophia Drake.

Well, technically Marie-Claude was a Cerci preview. I think the Paladins are the only ones left without a preview now.

Personally I went for two black diamond sets and quite a few black diamond upgrades, so I am quite pleased with the previews so far, thankfully, because I am quite disappointed with all the other previews shown so far.

Edit
Because I forgot about it, thanks lord_blackfang, Marie-Claude was a nice preview too.
