Don't forget the pic Dave!
I went in for...a lot.
Big mistake, I'm afraid.
I hope to be able to salvage something fun from all this.
And lesson learned and all that...

The sedition wars minis aren't nearly as bad as these appear to be.
In fact, the Sedition Wars minis (minus the "shrunken" 2nd wave ones) are the best examples of the material on the market. I realize that's like saying you're the best at duck duck goose, but I'm still mostly happy with my Sedition Wars minis.

I'm actually very encouraged, there are a bunch of mould lines to deal with, but the actual detail does seem to be there in these shots,
so for those of us who can/will work with restic things are looking OK, not resin/polystyrene sharp, but certainly perfectly useable

Hmm, those do look a lot better detail wise. The mold lines are annoying, but might, just might, be worth cleaning for the models now.

If we are talking phase 1Vanguard and larger Strain, I agree. But phase 2... man. And the only reason I made it through pase one was because I gave up on cleaning the strain zombies.
However, the kicker that really got me in the shorts was the pricing scheme. $10 for a restic homage figure (botched) plus an unwanted turd of a strain version just turned out to be too much. $15 for one spacemarine-sized restic THI suit was just infuriating.

Not happy about that at all definitely not what they promised. So what are we looking at now - 6 to 8 weeks again they pack them, ship them, go through customs and then re ship them. I was hoping to have them last week of July at the latest that might not even happen now.

2b. EU - fly a small team to China to supervise kitting of each individual EU package (working with our factory partners there) so there will be no packing cock ups, then airship the completed packages to the EU for distribution. Or in simpler terms, we will pack, seal and address your packages at the factory, then post it from within the EU, and that means everyone in the EU will get shipped at the same time.

Got my package...
at my parent's house which is not the address I provided in the pledge manager.
Which means I now get to wait a month in order to get my "early" shipped package that has errors that I'll have to try and get sorted out with the company unless I pay to ship it to myself.

Look on the bright side, corrections for defects and mispacks wont be available until shipping is complete now. So you've got some time anyway.

I really, really hope the person writing that update messed up and sailing packages to the EU doesn't happen
otherwise it will be 3 weeks to pack it in china (and I fear I'm being optimistic), 5 weeks on the boat, 1 week in customs then another 2 weeks to post it
I doubt anybody will see anything till August, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were still arriving beginning of September

Got my box of stuff this afternoon.
I was surprised by the detail on the models. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of mold lines but the stuff really does look good.
The material their made out of seems harder then what sedition wars and sde are made from.
Does anyone want pics of something specific?

Are you happy with the quality of most of the models, especially the smaller 'human' figures?
I'd love to see one of the larger models, like maybe Candy Rush or the Void Reaper, if you got them?

I got my tracking number email early this afternoon and the box itself arrived only three hours later. The known issues with the missing Cerci stuff and missing base inserts hit me as well as no playmat. I have heard the playmat is in a different box so I'll see if FedEx visits again tomorrow.
There was a good reason the black diamond corps photo kept popping up when people doubted the quality, those guys -especially the arms- have the worst loss of detail of all the minis. most of the models are much sharper. The vast majority look better than Privateer Press minis from the same factory.
Mold lines are hit and miss. Most parts have acceptable lines that are not in bad places but I have seen a few that are very nasty and will need to be replaced. I was very impressed with how minimal they kept mold lines on some of the super thin parts. Kisa's tail. Rin's gun, and especially Fritz's pistol are more delicate than I thought was possible in PVC plastic. Oddly enough, sometimes the best and worst parts were in the same kit.
I'll see if I can get some comparison photos of plastic and resin/metal Sebastian and Isabau in the next few days.

I'll do what I can but I spent money on a minis game from kickstarter rather than a nice camera. I'm not sure how well my camera will focus on tiny gray shapes. I did not order Hasami, the mini that was accused of having a bad face several pages back so you won't get an update on that from me. In my opinion the faces I took a close look at are stylized but look good.
Piston Honda wrote:Are the mold lines just as bad to clean up with your typical PVC/restic minis?
With a knife they feel about the same. The plastic is very dense but maybe not as rubbery as the stuff PP uses. I'll try a file on a piece or two and get back to you. I'll get you some photos of the best and worst mold lines along with some of the smallest parts (which turned out very good for pvc).
Makaleth wrote:A couple people have received items. Can you post pics of anything! Maybe line up an example of each faction or team or whatever they are called
Patience my friend. I just got the box at a very unexpected time yesterday and barely had time to survey and sort things before my friends came over for some gaming we had planned earlier in the week. I'm a stickler for mold line removal so it will take a while to get things assembled. I'll try to get you some parts photos along with the head photos.

No I'm missing base inserts and the other models the already identified.
Overall I'm happy with the models, I haven't opened much of it... That box is latterly packed full, but what I've opened I like.

Got my shipping notification last night. Should be in today or Monday. Odd how some of those don't look as bad as the photos SPM took. We're they just showing the worst of the worst?
Did anyone else get the space maid and void angel? I'll try to get pictures of them when they come in for me. Automatically Appended Next Post: Shipping update- everything IS being airmailed.

We've realized from feedback that we made a mistake in communicating EU "break bulk" shipping - this is going by air, not by boat. Sorry for any confusion and anxiety caused for all of you in the EU. We'll keep you posted once this is on the way.

I think the only reason the response was so quick and in the backers favour was due to some backers starting to camp the xenoshyft comment section. They managed a speedy Saturday u-turn and then tried to flood the comments if the front page of xenoshyft with some PR announcements. They still haven't announced why the parcels with furthest to travel where packed last.
It wasn't a mistake, they thought they could get away with it and then panicked when they thought it might hurt their live kickstarter.
