i believe it was scheduled to be the last figure made but there was a lot of complaints so Felix pushed it up. not 100% sure, as i didn't do the igg.

Yes - from what I understand, Palladium just sent the order for tooling to the same company for Robotech - over 40 new tools, bumped AoW's single tool back by a month.

How do you know it's the same company? I'd say it's a reasonable educated guess but I just wanted to make sure with how fragmented Palladium's customer engagement strategy is that I didn't miss an announcement of exactly who they're going with.

Well, hell, I thought I saw complaints about it on the AoW forums, but now I can't find the reference.

The banner bearer is supposed to be being sculpted right now (was actually supposed to be done by now, but at the very least should be in-progress). Maybe Adder Ant, who is local to them, could check on the progress if he sees this thread again.

on Dec 8 Felix posted on the forum "The exclusive army standard bearer will arrive this December!" so he's got about two and a half weeks to make that happen.

Not going to happen, no way, no how. I am too surprised that people still pre-order from AoW these days, despite everything that is happening with the company and their constant delays etc. I really like their miniatures, and they have some really good ones, but AoW should close business and Felix should focus on commissions instead.

Regarding the IGG campaign, there are still LOTS of figures that are supposed to be produced, and there are so many left I doubt they will be produced even during 2014. It's quite sad.

As well as several more metal dwarf characters that weren't on the list. So about 5/13 "units" completed. And an unknown tally on character progress. dear god - is that really how much is left to be done? I wanted to be part of that campaign but just looking at what was promised and the fact there was only one person sculpting it made no sense and seemed to totally over-promise.

2014 will be the year of zero GW purchases. Kneadite instead of GS, no paints or models. 2014 will be the year I finally make the move to military models and away from miniature games.

Yeah... it's been quite some time and not that much has been released. They had huge probems with their casting, retooling, fixing their own mistakes, pregnancy and who knows what exactly.

Felix promised (!) to releasethe BSB in november.. now it's mit december and it's nowhere to be seen. He even promised a WIP shot.. but nothing.

Now they are even saying they need to sculpt and release Dark Elves and more Chaoswarriors because the alternative would be bankruptcy.

I spend $220 on their campaign andmostly wanted the stuff yet to be released (Warbears, Hammeres, Heavily Armoured ones and more.)

To be honest, you should get already current available heroes for the amount instead, and put them up on ebay to make some cash out of it. They promised that 5 "dwarves" equalled 1 hero, so go for a bunch of the more expensive ones and you can surely get your cash back and then some.

I was waiting to get lots of bears, too, but I was lucky enough to get a refund. I don't think you'll get your bears for a while.

That's an incredibly ambitious list of planned releases, particularly as this is a one man show. For under $40k he obviously over commited.
To compare Imbrian Arts made 60k for a much more modest slate of releases (gorgeous individual sculpts though) and is ludicrously behind schedule. Jody appears to have sculpted less than a dozen miniatures for the KS all year, and he had a "everything beyond the KS miniatures that I sculpt this year!" pledge level. Obviously it's only been a year since that KS wrapped up, but given the scope commited to I'd say that Avatars of War certainly isn't the most obnoxiously delayed miniature only KS/IGG.

There's at least one other sculptor over at AoW, though whether the other guy (at work right now so cant check name) is "allowed" to sculpt Dwarves or not is another matter.

I agree that there are others that are really behind schedule, but Imbrian Arts is, as you say, a bit "ludicrous" at this point according to his stated progress. Some companies are absolutely ruining their reputations on KS by not following through after getting the money :-/. At least AoW is trying hard, but a big part of the problem is the communication blackouts they go through for long periods...

They seem nice enough - but a little too late with GW having just released plastic Witch Elves. I'm betting a good deal of potential Witch Elf customers have already been sated by now.

These should come in a fair bit cheaper for the remainder at least.

I would not underestimate the sales of these girls. Only one dark elf player in my are got a unit of the new witch elves. The rest went with cheaper options. The $6 a fig was too much for most people. Another stuck with the old metal ones and another got the Raging Heroes one instead. There is demand, but not at the price GW is asking.

I don't have a link handy or anything - but Felix has mentioned in the past that they weren't as successful as were hoped. I find it hard to believe - as they certainly are the best option for Slayers out there - in terms of looks and price. I even preordered a box just to encourage more AoW hard plastics. Doh.*

*Only in the sense of the lack of subsequent hard plastic kits. The Slayers themselves are still pretty aces.

I suspect the problem is more that the Dwarves (in general) are not selling well, because the book is ancient,

so with fantasy in a slow release mode, and with it's popularity (in the US especially) being patchy

however good the slayers were they were probably not going to be able to pull in big sales numbers (even lots of Dwarf player who might be interested are probably not updating their armies until a new book appears)

So I just found this thread, and it seems im really screwed. I ordered 2 dwarf heroes from this site. What are the chances of actually receiving them in a months time? Or a refund barring that? Im not waiting half a year to finish a mordheim band, ill just buy from ebay.

Slayers are one of the worst units in the current book, right? No armor, don't work well in big blocks for 8th ed... I never see them in any bat reps.

So that's the real reason, I'd bet...

I only look into this thread once in a while but I think (somebody please correct my if I am wrong) that the scheduling problems are for the Kickstarter (or other crowdfunding) deliveries, and not for the real online store. So if you just ordered from the shop (and if I am right) then you should have nothing to worry about.

I know that IF WFB 9th is OK and IF the Dwarf book is OK - I'll be ordering a ton of Felix's Dwarf stuff.

That is, IF it is available at that time.

That's a lot of IFs, sure, but, there you go!

Were you part of the indiegogo campaign or just ordered units that exist/preordered units in tooling? If the latter you'll have your stuff and probably be quite happy with it (I love my pathfinders and berserkers)

I would say that the detail working most against slayers selling is the spotty rep of the company making them. If fans and stores preorder and then have to wait 6 months to a year from the initial release date publicized or hear that others are forced to do so, additional orders won't come in as frequently.

Both FLGSes around here regularly sell a box of those slayers, from what I hear. I'd agree (as a lapsed WHFB dwarf player) that the horrible rules under both 7th and 8th edition WHFB are their biggest drawback, and probably why they don't sell all that well.

I sincerely hope the new WHFB dwarf 'book fixes that; that might bring in sufficient revenue for AoW to actually get me my &*(^%*& limited BSB
Does seem like he's reneging on his 'BSB in DEC' pledge, though.

To be fair they used to be spot on till they got into box sets, before then my orders used to be here in a couple of weeks.

I think due to relying on third parties and stretching their own finances has damaged their reputation quite a bit, I have still dealt with them on quite a few occasions and although there has been delays they have come through in the end.

I cant speak for the Indiegogo as I missed the funding period and by the sounds of it has not been that successful, but from most of the Kickstarters I have backed they all seem to follow the same issues and delays.

I am learning that if you back these projects you have to expect changes and delays, I know its not what most people want to hear but you have to expect it I am afraid.

Also I know the first thing is to highlight the fact that you are not happy and you are waiting on releases and how bad it all is, but remember the more bad press will put buyers of creating less sales which could force a company under then you end up out of pocket and nothing to show for it.

Dont get me wrong people should be honest and by the sounds of it AOW have dropped the ball on this project but not entirely through their own doing, they do create some great miniatures and lets hope they turn things around soon.

I have to 2 boxes of the slayers and think they are pretty nice models my self especially compared to other manufactures box sets, so I think more the issues is due to playability of slayers and lets be honest thats due to other companies rules.
