Haha strong understanding of Kevlar's joke. It's okay Kevlar, I thought it was funny. : )

I'm really excited to see the "Armory", the Chaos Lord cost and options, and the fully laid out Chaos Boon page which goes into more detail. I'm hoping there is a little piece of fluff for each mutation/boon to really seal the deal. For example, I just rolled a 23: Warp Frenzy The Champion sees the true nature of the warp for no more than a mere millisecond, but it drives him to a depth of insanity that had previously been unattainable, whipping him into a frothing frenzy.

Agreed.

I am looking forward to seeing if Aspiring Sorcerers can take the spell book thing to reroll failed psychic tests.

Not really worried bout it, wish Ahriman had it though. It's all good.

Yeah..i think that when someone take a mark the whole unit gets the same...

The "Per model points" cost is only there for making a difference between a 5 man squad and a 20 man squad in points cost.

it does not mean that one guy in the squad can take the mark and the rest something else or no mark.

So yeah the whole squad must have the mark to take the icon.

Seeing the entry for Kharn, i'm really dissapointed, a measly 5++ save, he is still has squeshy as he was before and i don't see anywhere the Blessing of the Blood God...

Also i'm curious to see the Deamon Weapons stats, on Feait blog we only see the pages with the chaos arsenal, but on those we only see the "common" weapons of the arsenal, not the deamon weapons.

Yea i think the Ksons are at a good place we got the 1 thing fixed that needed fixing, the price of our sorcerers.

It would be nice if we had mastery level 2 but we can make do without. The Sorcerer isnt a huge part of the unit now as it was in 5th. If the rumors are true and he dosnt give relentless anymore from the sorcerer commands.

I am upset about the Defiler price hike for the purpose of forcing new models down my throat.

I can only hope at this point that land raiders can at least be taken as dedicated transports lest my biggie ever see the light of day again.

Don't forget that in 6thed when you reach 2000pts you double your FOC slots!

Just FYI on the Rubric thing, no one has posted the *main* page with the Mark of Tzeentch.

For all we know, there could be a tiny box in the corner that says "if a psyker with the MoTz joins a unit of Tsons they are Relentless instead of S&P" etc etc etc.

Just sayin'.

Will make do either way, but no one has the full picture.

For the record, I am excited about Soul Blaze. I will probably be paying the points for it on every unit.

Just saw on Faeit blog this;

70pts for 2 plus champ then 20 each
not sure where this goes......
there are god specific steeds than give different bonuses e.g. +2 wounds, +1 attack for Nurgle one

Now i suppose that this is an error, because else this would be too good...

Bikers With MoK,IoK on Juggers..., a dream come true...

But i really think its a mix up with the wargear section, after all we din't see the Bikes entry...

I'm not sure a (supposed) 12 point discount on the price of the Aspiring Sorcerers makes up for the loss of one level of Psychic Mastery and access to any sort of variety of useful spells. Now it's possible the Mark of Tzeentch boosts their mastery level, but I doubt it as that kind of thing would have made it into the summary.

I doubt they get the +1 Mastery Level.

I suspect that they stay like they are but might provide Relentless. Here's hoping!

I also find it funny that even the Aspiring Sorcerers have the Slow and Purposeful rule.

The Level 2 mastery was something they let slip through the cracks only because they knew it was going to be fixed in the new codex.

So its not that big of a loss. Its the aspiring sorcerers being put back into where they belonged.

It dose suck he has to take one of the crappy tzeench powers but w/e.

Not being Warp Charge 2 is a big loss. Before they could cast a spell and use their Force Weapon, now they can't. The drop from Mastery Level 2 to Mastery Level 1 is a huge change, and in no way was it a "slip through the cracks" thing given they redid the FAQ in the last month to patch up Daemon Princes with wings.

The 6th edition update made the Sorcerer more worth his minimum 70 points cost, and from what is known about the new codex they've taken all of that away and given him a 12point price break. Twelve Points does not make up for the wide variety of spells, Deny the Witch bonuses and flexibility in Force Weapon use that they've lost.

EDIT: Hell, the rumours indicate that GW themselves consider a Mastery Level above 1 to be worth 25 points per extra level. What has the Aspiring Sorcerer gained that is worth 13 points? We won't know for sure until the codex comes out, but what has been released so far points to "Nothing except having to take part in challenges and mutate despite caring only for knowledge and being terrified of mutating."

This is not the place to completely discuss the changes because we are lacking the correct amount of information.

I will post a Thousand Sons Tactica in the Tactica area once I get my codex (unless someone beats me to it). There, we will be able to discuss the "omg they goofed" stuff.

Sorry to jump in here, but I saw people struggling with issues like can DP's take marks ect and thought I would drop in with some helpful gifts of chaos. Sorry that its hard to read. Not my images, but then again if you are a real chaos fan you probably don't care.

Also sorry if this doesn't help as I am unsure if this image has come up already....its at 85 pages so its kinda hard to review all the pages.

So te Hellbrute CC options would appear to be:

Powerfist as standard - S10, AP2
Thunder Hammer - S10, AP2 (?), Concussive
Power Scourge - S8, AP2, Flail

TBH i'm thinking the scourge might actually be the best option there. Although you lose a couple of poitn for armour pen, you still have the +1 onthe damage table from AP2 - so it could still reliably kill transports. I suppose it might struggle against other walkers and Land Raiders.

Agreed! We need more of this and less griping. I'm planing out an iron Warriors force alongside a khornate warband formed from terran veterans of the World Eaters. I'm just kinda sad that I have to wait and adjust how I'm modeling my Berserkers since "chainaxes" are a specific equipment slot.

I think I'm simply going to model all my berserkers with axes and if someone complains I'm simply going to choose not to play that person anymore. WYSIWYG has it's limits in what product that GW provides us, so unless we get a new plastic berserker box that contains 8 chainswords and 8 chainaxes I'm gonna go with what I find visually appealing.

For my Iron Warriors I'm excited with the new daemon engines and with all the fortification rules provided by the main rulebook I can't wait to custom design up a fortress of redemption as a "Fraction of the Iron Cage". Warpsmiths seem pretty neat and I really wanna see how they do when they get stuck in.

/gasp.

That would be awesome!

I'm holding off on paintign or modelling anything until i see the 'dex. not becasue i will shelve my army or anythign silly. i just dont want to model soemthgin and then find out iot the wrong option.

I already have several Warsmith models i can convert - just depends on what options the Warpsmiths have in terms of weapons (REALLY holding out for a conversion beamer). I've also got 60+ IW marine models and i am hoping i wont need to do too much conversion in order to field the army.

i think i'm goign to have to "tweak" my hellblade if i want to proxy it in place of a dragon though.

Also just think about the upgrades you can take to a fortress of redemption, extra heavy bolters, krakstorm missiles, now spread ONE cultist squad across the ramparts to fire the bolters twin linked lascannon and missiles.

Also, why tweak the hellblade, its got sharp edged wings for ramming, and two autocannons thats 4 shots same as a the heldrake's main gun.

True. Was thinking about trying to add soem kind of weapon to explain why a plane can vector strike - maybe soem sort of underslunch blades like DE jetbikes, or trailing hooks/flails

Speaking of which - was anyone else surprised that dragon didnt get the Vector Dancer special rule (the one that lets it turn 180 instead of 90 when zooming). I guess they're holding that one for Eldar or Tau fliers.

Do we have all the rules for the helldrake yet? I'd forgotten about Vector Dancer (since no one has it), but I feel that could make what feels like quite a lackluster flyer into something really nice.

On the subject, am I missing something about the Helldrake? It seems a bit crap, to put it bluntly. Only has the one gun, which isn't anything special (and BS3), vector strike is str7 which could be decent against rear armour (assuming it's allocated the same as cc hits) but still nothing amazing. All for the low low price of 30% more points than a kitted out vendetta which has five guns and a transport option :/

5++ and IWND will help survivability, but I can't help but feel like it's polish on the turd.

Knightly, I agree with you.

SR are 200 points and Valks are 130.

This dragon is about as good as a valk, but no better imho.
It should be 130 not 170. At 130 then it would be worth taking.

Don't even get me started on SR. For 30 points more you get more armour, more guns, more transport capacity, more options.

Problem is we have to take some anti flier and our HS slot are too overfilled to take havoks...

I'm assumign that the helldrake doesn't have Vector Dancer based on the battle rep in WD - they said they mvoed it off the board as it coudl attack anything.

if it had vector dancer it coudl have just turned 180 and attacked the same unit as last turn.
