i dont think it's been confirmed bt all the pics have a shwo a unit of 5 having one special weapon. So 2 for 10 model makes sense.

Not really, they both have 3 HPs and the 'It will not die' USR so they can take a real beating.
The Maulerfiend is very fast for a walker and it will absolutely slaughter enemy vehicles and fortifications (for only slightly more than a dreadnaught).
The Forgefiend is one of the best ranged units in the game for killing light vehicles and monsterous creatures.

1. Nope

2. Makes normal chosen troops.

Lame. :(

The only difference between Chosen and Terminators aside from the armour is the Chosen have special weapons and the Terminators have combi-weapons, so making a whole new unit entry for such a tiny thing would be silly.

Unless you want terminators as troops.

high cost elite units with +3sv without crusader LR to transport them are very bad . now if abadon made terminators troops too , it would have been interesting . the way he is right nowhe is not realy worth it .

So we have 2 base Troop choices, and can unlock 5 other units as Troops, and you want more? Give me a break.

Right because 18pts is high cost and we really need a Land Raider to transport them, as if we don't already have Land Raider that could fit a whole unit and as if their purpose isn't to take 5 Plasma Guns and fry everything to pieces People seem to get this notion that to make most units work they need to be able to make it to assault, or rather a false notion I should say. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.

BTW, if high cost elite units with 3+ saves are bad without going in Land Raiders, go talk to a few Grey Knights players; you might learn something. Then go talk to their regular opponents; you might something more.

As for the assertion that Abaddon and Chosen aren't worth it, go around to a few local stores and ask all the Marine players how they would feel about two units of Chosen with 10 Plasma Guns between them bearing down on them with Prefered Enemy.

Kharn strikes at I5 with Gorechild, being Str6 and Ap2.

Kharn and his unit pass Deny the Witch tests on 2+ and he is immune to the ID effect of a Force Weapon.

He also now comes with the rule Hatred (Everything!) meaning that he rerolls all hits in the first round of a close combat, heavily mitigating the Betrayer rule and making him a much safer HQ choice.

Abaddon is the same with two exceptions.

He now comes with a Warlord Trait called Black Crusader, which provides a 12" Preferred Enemy (Space Marines) bubble. Which. Is. HUGE.

Also, Drach'nyen and the Talon of Horus have been divorced. He no longer makes 4+1d6 attacks I6 at str 8. Now it's one or the other.

Drach'nyen is Daemon Weapon, +1 str Ap2.

Talon is x2 Str, ap 3, Shred.

Both still strike at Initiative 6.

Do Havoc lascannons still cost 35 points?

The book sucks plain and simple in my opinion, almost no change and in other areas worse...waited 5 years for disappointment.

Games Workshop: Ruining Chaos Space Marines since 2007

First they raised prices on the Eldar, and I did not speak out because I did not play Eldar.

Then, they raised prices on the Orks, and I did not speak out because I did not play Orks.

Then, they raised prices on the Nids, and I did not speak out because I did not play Nids.

Then, they raised prices on the Marines, and there was nobody to speak out for me.

Are you for real? EVERY SINGLE UNIT IN THE BLOODY BOOK HAS BEEN CHANGED!!!!

cult units, change.

New units.

Additional new upgrades FOR EVERY UNIT.

whats worst?

Yeah, sure the havoc are kinda expensive with flakk missiles, and defilers and land raiders aren't good anymore, but hey we got badass noise marines, MASTERY LEVEL 4 AHRIMAN, chosen as troops, and a feth load of other great things!

Are Defiler bad now? From i had read hear they got a bump in price but also gained Daemon, it Will not Die and Daemonforge.

So they are a LOT more survivable now. Especially sicne you can give them powerscourges in addition to their power fists which ( i think) reduce the WS or models in b2b - making the Defiler harder to hit.

They aren't bad, they're just not as good. If your opponent focussed any real amount of firepower, they'd drop fairly quickly.

*phew*

CSMs can still get a CCW for free if they replace their Bolter. Thank Khorne... I was worried that I'd have to pay 2 points per model for a dinky CCW.

It still doesn't fix the stupid Terminator weapon problem. And I can't figure out what makes Land Raiders worth 230 points...

No new independent characters, points increase's to a few units including massive increases for Daemon Princes and defilers, Khorne Bersekers are now practically useless, Thousand sons still over priced, inability to take an unmarked prince, loss of infiltrate for chosen, loss of ccw's in profile of csm's, (have to buy em now...), Oblits losing the ability to form a ccw, losing fearless AND cant use the same weapon twice in a row....

Daemon Prince losing eternal warrior
Terminator champions have only 2 attacks
Chosen champions have only 2 attacks

Thats to name just a few...

As for the new stuff

Hell drake over costed (and the kit too...), Dark apostles mediocre at best, not worth the points just to make a single unit fearless, Forgefiend and Maulerfiend while fast are easily shredded in this format. Cultist are cheap but have next to no options.
