Funny how Kev White and Hasslefree don't attract the level of criticism that the Banelegions figures or even Brother Vinni.

Though comparing these to the Melisunes, the HF ones look like they could actually be real women, albeit ones who've had a visit to the plastic surgeon's office.

Well, Kev's wife Sally does have quite a bit of input into the range, scipio - she's the inspiration for Libby, for a start.

I'm glad they gathered all these terrible minis together in one place so I can avoid them all at once

Yeah, I'm aware of that, but does the fact that Kev has a wife that we've heard of make that much of a difference? Maybe it does? I've nothing against HF, I actually have a whole bunch of the figures, so I'm really thinking out loud.

You need to look up the meaning of misogyny by the way mate. If anything, I would say these are a celebration of the female form

This is why they don't seem to cause much stress in my household. Of course, I haven't bought any of them, either. My wife has a figure just like Libby's, so she tends to see it as more realistic, and thus more respectful of real women/less objectionable(?), whether or not that viewpoint is consistent with her general outlook on female minis.

Personally, I find that a silly nude model is cool while a serious "I am a strong woman" model with boob-holes in the breastplate is just a bit too much. Also, nude warrior women who look like they could actually have the muscles to heft a spear are easier to rationalize. After all, no one sells nude barbarian men with a Bieber build.

Comparing Kev to brother vini female sculpts is like comparing aphrodite to a cheap hooker. On every level.

Let me be clear, because I was one of the loudest protesting Brother Vinni's work. It was not the tit's out aspect of the model, it was, very specifically, because it was a likeness of a real life political prisoner and was called Ukrainian Slave Girl, which, when you have any awareness of the enslavement of young women and girls for sex and abuse in the East of Europe and Ukraine especially, you'd call 'in very poor taste'.

I have no problem with banelegions (other than the 'blindfolded topless sword girls' seemed very poorly sculpted) and applaud Hasslefree (I'd imagine if it's for No Bra Day, they'll be making a donation to Breast Cancer for this event).

Maybe we should try and stay on topic and leave the other stuff to OT?

Is it? The three companies all have very different approaches to making figures that should result in them being judged differently. Kind of like how we don't expect to see the same criticism leveled at a 4-star gourmet restaurant applied to your local McDonald's.

With a bit of armor and a different football, I have to say I think this is a Really well sculpted model to use for something like Dreadball (NSFW):



Now with it being nigh-on naked like that I don't really think it would work, but the form and the face are done Extremely well, imo.

I have to say that I like quite a number of the Hasslefree models.
