Oh yeah of course, but it shouldn't even need to be reset that often, I mean it's a big place.

I would probably only really need to be reset after what, a year? Half a year? Or when a new ore is added to the ftb modpack?

I think there'd probably also be some interest in a Cavern world. You know, for the Dwarves, Gnomes and Hobbits among us.

Hah matt, See the explosives plus mod. Biomebusters. Volcanos, even BLACK HOLES.
On topic though, with the FTB pack and mystcraft, Apparently you can also customise mobs and weather. I also advocate shared dimensions. Have at least 4 or 5 people willing to get into a dimension and use it, and not just placehold.

^Seen it, but at least you have to be nearby to cause the explosion. Missiles are scary.
Especially all the tier 3 missle launcher gear together, point and click to call an air strike with all the missiles set to the same frequency...
And I agree with the "4-5 people need to ask for a shared age to be made" suggestion

The only problem with that is that people tend to just be in it to get it made, and then don't use the ages.

I don't really support personal dimensions in any way, shape, or form. If you're after a big cave system, maybe a request could be made and Dark could copy from an offline dimension to the overworld? It'd reduce the chances of unused dimensions.

As for the "4-5 people asking for a shared age" suggestion. I'll think about it. I may have to look into the possibility of temporary ages. For example, "archiving" an age if it stops being used and then how easy it is to restore it if it is wanted again, especially if a new age now occupies its old spot.

Can I suggest an "adventure" age?
We could setup a decaying age with teasures or something that we can deelete/regenerate once a week or somesuch.
I'm just remembering alot of fun to be had not in building but adventuring around and fighting the ender dragon and such back in the day

A hack/mine server is a good idea as it is a more RPG and adventure than standard minecraft. Automatically Appended Next Post: And you can be a dwarf/elf/human/halfling with warrior/mage/ranger perks. (halfling mage is good for PVP)

Adventuring yes, probably, but decaying, no.
I tried a single mystcraft age with instability and the lag was terrible due to the thousands of block updates involved with the world falling into the void, but that might have been because it was also a highly accelerated age...

Yes, that would be because it was highly accelerated
Corrupted age + instability = laggy mess, as acceleration increases the number of random ticks per second, which plants and trees use to grow, and corruption uses to decay...

While I have a seed in mind, I'm reluctant to give it out as it could just lead to people fighting over the same spot before the world's even started.
There's also still the possibility that the world gen will change before the Ultimate pack is released (especially as different mods will be involved).

So long as all your spells bounce off the enemy tower and hit innocent people, I'd say everything is fine with your plan.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Is Equivelant Exchange going to be included? That really put me off the Tekkit server as it just made the game too easy. I mean in vanilla you have to put some time into getting building resources, with Tekkit all you need to do is find any old ore and change it into a building material (as I recall the majority cost something like 1 or 2 EE). To me it seems like less of an achievement in Tekkit to have built something big as its just so easy to get the materials in the first place (even without EE you've got tools that mine blocks more effeciently than fully enchanted vanilla items...and are indestructable).
Thus why my plan with the new server would be to plunk myself on a floating island and mine the land like Jeb intended it. ^^'

Equivalent Exchange 3 is likely going to be included, but it's completely rebalanced from version 2 (the one that is in Tekkit).
Condensers are no longer included and "find any old ore and change it into a building material" now inflicts durability on the Minium Stone, making it a bit more cumbersome to just spam for materials.
From what I've heard, it's still being balanced so the above may change.
With FtB it will be harder to get obscene amounts of material early on, but as you obtain more stuff and build fancy machines it gets easier. Quarries even chunk load on their own.

Obtaining Minium shards is very unreliable. As of yet, I'm unsure of which conditions need to be fulfilled to get them- do you need to kill mobs by hand?

Yes, I think a player has to kill them for them to drop shards.

I'm not. FtB is just easier. While you CAN make a pack, EVERYONE has to make it themselves to access the server. It's easier to use an already-built (auto-updating; with frequent updates) mod.

It may be difficult to make but think about the fun you could have with like turning a twilight forest castle into a science lab? or (if the gravity gun mod is multiplayer) muck around with a half-life 2 gravity gun launching mobs and blocks into the air or creating a kingdom with tale of kingdoms mod? (if it is a multiplayer mod)
