Redstone engines aren't completely safe, either. I accidentally did something (attached a decent EU current to it, I think) to two and lost an energy link and the corner of my house respectively as a result, because they exploded almost instantly.

Don't play with redstone, kids.

While working on a teleporter station at spawn, I noticed the mess of holes and random MFSUs.

Please clean these up or I'll clean them up tomorrow (taking the MFSUs) at 6am EST.

There should be a way in FTB or Tekkit to make Basalt and Marble from UU-Matter, so I had a look:

http://forum.industrial-craft.net/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=6875

Might this work on the FTB server?

It may, but I think the Redpower items have different ID'sin the FtB pack, making the addon not work.

Unsure, though.

I just found out the hard way to NOT edit a FtB world in MCEdit.

Or at least make backups first (which I didn't, because it was just a concept world).

So the FtB spawn concept I was working on is now ruined by MCEdit resetting any non-vanilla blocks to either air or random vanilla blocks. :(

I'll probably rebuild it again, better and more efficiently, but will wait to see if there are any world gen changes in the Ultimate pack first.

Just wanted to put this PSA out there about editing FtB worlds in MCEdit

As an estimate, how long will it take till the FTB server is up, about a month, a week, two weeks, two months, or a good while longer?

Twelfty.

Yep, as I said earlier, I'm waiting on the FtB Ultimate mod-pack (starting any other mod-pack before then would just mean restarting again when the Ultimate pack is released).

Currently FtB are waiting on some mods to be updated and they don't know how long yet, so neither do I, sorry:

At a guess I think it might be Xycraft and Equivalent Exchange 3, as they still have key components in development, but it could be other mods as well.

That sounds about right to me.

Xycraft looks cool, yay for DW20 and forgecraft server spoilers!

Fabricator is cool, it basically a better autocrafter.

Currently Xycraft seems bizarre- What does it add? All I see is shiny shiny bricks.

It's going to add some more machines and another power system (because we need moar of course) although only time will tell if they're worth it. The ores and bricks were added now to get the terrain gen features in place so the machines can be added later.

Power system demonstrated in this video (at various points, but at 10m30s you can see it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gMF1tPkGXXs

Re. That UU-matter question I posted earlier:

Can't Ops/Mods add/alter recipes anyway, removing the requirement for an add-in?

A widely acclaimed modpack, similar to Tekkit but better.

I'd be careful with throwing around the word "better." Can I build a massive maze complex that can regenerate if broken in FtB without going broke? No, but I can in Tekkit!

Without going broke? maybe.
you can still transmute metals and stuff, it's just harder and not as fleshed out.

Remember, EE3 isn't done yet

FTB is actually missing a few bits and pieces that I usually make use of: The additional pipes for buildcraft like the Adv. Wood Pipe, Rotary Macerators and similar advanced IC2-style machines.
However- No-one cares because FTB is much cooler.

That's just the Direwolf20 pack, Advanced Machines are in the Mindcrack pack, so it's possible they'll make it into the Ultimate pack. Twilight Forest is coming to V5 of the Direwolf20 pack too.
