Work internet filter won't let me get to the WWX website. Any alternative sites for the beta rules? Sadly (or happily depending on view) I have plenty of time here at work to give them a good read through.

So... I sent in my EXCEL spreadsheet (!) and added a few things, but never heard back from them, and I wasn't sent a PayPal invoice either.
Anyone else experience something similar?
Or maybe different?

Did you get the automatic reply from them?
This is normal, they did mention that it will take some time before they get the paypal/credit card charges placed and are processing them in the order they were submitted. Outlaw also mentioned that you will still get the KS prices regardless of the date you submitted or the date they process you if you were a KS pledger.
This info can be found in the KS comments section.

Depends on when you sent it in. Outlaw announced yesterday they already received 750+ spreadsheets, but they are working on them in the order received. You won't receive anything except the auto reply as of now confirming they received your email. No worries, they said if they don't get to anyone in a couple months then they are still available for the KS discounted prices...not that it would matter with your order anyways.

Update time!
The First Few Models Are In Production And Looking Good
Update #99 · Apr 8, 2013 · 6 comments
Here are the first of several models coming out this week from our production guys. We are running at full speed and September could not get here any sooner.
Check out the crisp detail and cool color. These resin models will be heading out to everyone in the very near future.
The plastic injection molded parts are also at full production in China and will be heading over the pond in just a few short months.
In all everything is on schedule and going as planned.

Those miniatures DO look nice, but I don't think anyone was too worried about the resin figs.
It is all about how the 3D renders translate to plastics...

Agreed, I would have also liked a picture of these models before assembly as well. I paint my models in pieces, so it would be good to know what I am getting into. Really like the bases, good cross between a plinth and a "battle" base. Hope all of the bases that came in the KS are inserts or are molded like this.

Beta 2.0 is out. Very good improvements and clarifications have been made. The (not)Firefly Mercs are also included in this iteration, looking good from a first reading. Link is on the KS page.

Lawmen Hired Hands Are Ready To Go
Update #101 · Apr 25, 2013 · 6 comments
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let you know that the official Lawmen Hired Hands are done and on their way to China for plastic production. Take a look at all of these cool poses and look for them to ship out in September with all the other great kits.
Stay tuned on our website or facebook to find out the latest.

Also check out our official store on the WWX page for any additional items you may have forgot on your survey.

Very nice, and I'm glad I selected the Lawmen faction too, but as someone already noted in the comments section, hopefully the 'sitting' Lawman is an 'extra' on the sprue, as I certainly won't ever need more than one of him!

I like the weapons, as they seem pretty chunky, especially the shotguns, but would hate to be hit by one of those pistols.
They look like they can shoot cannon balls! hehe.

Well you could use him as a prone model instead of using tokens etc? Or something along those lines.
I am sure you could swap arms, heads weapons around so they look different also.
Outlaw did state that there would be flexibility in the sculpts and I am not talking the flexibility that you see in Finecast!! hehe

I believe he is... every post I've seen from him lately has been in that orange text, also it violates rule 1.
I will say this, I got my hands on a Lady of the West model, and I will say the following:
The good:
1) The sculpt is in resin, and it is very good and generic enough to be used in any western setting game (not a lot of sci-fi junk on it
2) It looks easy to put together
The bad:
1) The base is fething stupid. Just saying that right now, 25mm beveled and 30mm round lip would have been fine, but it has like a faux-plinth style base, thankfully I have spare bases, so it's not a huge issue in the long run, though the ability to cross these models over in to other games just went down if everything has this stupid base...
2) The pieces of the model are connected to the tab in weird places, like on her hat. It's right at where you connect it to her head, so I have a bump, where I need at least a flat surface
3) the resin on the tab is enough to make at least 1 more model, which seems like a colossal waste.
4) Also got a demo of the game, and I can honestly say, that the game just ain't for me.

We are still in the Beta V2.0.
A few people are play testing it to death atm, as some of the backers are game writers, but I am not sure what company name they act under.
A lot has been changed and added and comments on the forum are sounding a lot more upbeat then the previous Beta v1.0.
They are still accepting requests for changes, but not everything will change as they want to keep their main idea for the game.
Hope this helps

I felt that the game was clunky and slow, the weird tokens they were using got me confused a few times. I will admit that 1) I had to have a quick demo because I was supposed to be demoing Brushfire myself on the other side of the vendor hall.
Also (and this has nothing to do with the game play), but bad show on Outlaw Miniatures for not even using real models for their demos. They had a display case with a sprue of 1 model (looks like they're doing what Wyrd, and a few other companies are doing and getting their stuff cast by Wargames Factory), and a few other things, but nothing was really built (save some display pieces which did look nice), and they used hard acrylic silhouette cut-outs of models. So I wasn't demoing with an actual figure, but a cutout of an actual figure. Kind kept me from getting immersed in the game.
And mick, can you please stop using the orange, large sized text?

Certainly better than bare bases , but I mean they had sprues and completed models, they could have set up some and given them a rough/decent paintjob for demos.

I found it a wee bit strange looking at the beginning posts of this Kickstarter by "Mauleed" representing Outlaw Miniatures:
"We would also like to comment on the continued mention of Battle Foam and Romeo in this thread...
...It is in no way part of Battle Foam outside of getting bags made by them. Romeo is a large part of the team because it is his concept and fluff."
There has been a wee bit of conflict with Remeo Filip on behalf of his company "Battlefoam". Lawsuits and physical threats have been quoted in the past: Google now.
BOTH HIM AND HIS WIFE ARE THE ONLY "AGENTS" REGISTERED FOR BOTH COMPANIES.
The Arizona Corporation Commission have his wife listed as the Manager and him as a member specifically for Outlaw Games so your money is going into the same kitty.
See this site:

A kickstarter is based on trust, you be the judge of the character of the individuals in charge. I hope all goes well for the customers but this fellow has been volitile in the past and may continue to be in the future.
Let the buyer beware.

@Tralizar
Romeo was very up front about his involvement during the Kick Starter. The figures actually rose quite a bit that day.
The fact that he has done several podcasts where he talks about WWX would also be a nice indication as he has nothing to hide about his involvement.
During Beasts of War coverage of Salute, Warren asks Romeo's wife about WWX also.
So not really a scandal there as far as I am concerned.
I think everyone knows that I am a backer of this product. As such, I find it reassuring that a person with a proven business record has his finger on the pulse.
As this negates the worry of trusting a new developer to find his feet. Not that I wouldn't trust someone on KS, but I was just making a simple comparison between two extremes.
In new news though, we had the image of the new Doomsday model, which is the first of the Heavy Supports for the Enlightened.
It certainly looks true to scale, my only worry is gonna be carrying it, hehe
Although I have to say that I will mainly be getting the Enlightened Bosses as I decided to concentrate on Outlaws, Warrior Nation and the Union.
Still, I'm happy they have progressed with making some new models to drool over! Can't wait to see the others now,
but I am mostly excited about seeing the BlackJack for the Outlaws, who could possibly not want a trike of +10 shootyness???? hehe

Dude, please stop using the orange text color, it's a clear violation of Rule #1
Please remember that posting and reading online is a visual format and as such the spelling, grammar and look of your posts is the only way others understand what you are saying. Therefore, in order to be polite, all users are expected to make an effort to use proper spelling, grammar and punctuation and should refrain from using internet shorthand or other distracting methods of writing, such as writing a post completely bolded, with capital letters, in a strange color, etc.
The bolded and oranged part...
As to the image you posted, that thing is fething blocky as hell, and it overhangs off of the base
Though I think I found the inspiration for that model

In the referenced podcast Romeo makes a strong point of saying that that Outlaw Miniatures are the "owning company" which seems a bit deceptive when he is in fact the Agent for that company and he does not say so.
He is already talking about the agreements with online distributers vs. bricks and mortar stores, the same hot topics he had in the past.
The methods of management will not change, so review how Battlefoam has been in the news and it will give a good indication for the future.
By all means, if the management style used inspires confidence, then back them.

WILD WEST EXODUS THREE BOOK DEAL
Update #105 · May 23, 2013 · 3 comments
Winged Hussar Publishing, LLC is excited to announce an agreement with Outlaw Miniatures to publish a series of books based in the world of their game, Wild West Exodus through it’s Zmok Books imprint.
Wild West Exodus is set in an alternative history near the end of the American Civil War and based in the old west. It features historical and legendary figures – but not necessarily in the way that you currently know them.
The first three books will compose the Jessie James Archives entitled, Honor Among Thieves (October 2013), An Outlaw’s Wrath (November 2013) and Abundant Riches (December 2013).
In the twilight years of the Nineteenth Century, mankind is perched upon a new age of discovery and enlightenment. But beneath the hope and optimism, a rising darkness taints the air, touching the heart of every man, woman, and child. The United States has clawed its way out of a terrible civil war, but the wounds are deep.
The nation finds itself poised on the edge of ruin, the agony of division eating at its very marrow. Into this dark time a light of hope emerges, carried from the Old World by Dr. Burson Carpathian, scientist, visionary, and would be saviour. Dr. Carpathian, however, is following a path laid out for him by the darkest of powers - a force of remorseless spite “The Dark Council”.
New Science collides with ancient malevolence, and a technology powered by the very essence of evil itself moves to crush the hearts and minds of men. Outlaws grasp for wealth and renown in the turbulent chaos, while once noble leaders strive to defend nations that now exist only in their memories. Brilliant minds are turned onto dark, forbidden paths as every life is twisted by the bitter touch of the Dark Council, unlocking the foul potential within each man’s soul. There is no certain future as a continent is torn asunder, each isolated faction struggling to maintain their share of power beneath the gathering darkness.
Join us on our dark journey into an alternate history where a hidden evil strives to corrupt even the purest champions of Man. Take your first step upon this dread path today!
Winged Hussar Publishing LLC, publishes books on military history . Through its Zmok Books Imprint it publishes epic SF&F .

Now that is not the only surprise. Originally we has announced that the Mercs would be resin like our vehicles and specialized troops.

Even more exciting is the fact that nobody has to pay anything extra for this bonus change. Its already included with your pledge if you selected the Mercs as your reward or add-on.
So lets check out the first of eight Mercs.

Sorry but after getting some feedback on River Flowing we went back and made some important changes. Here is the actual model people will get.
1. Smother nicer face.
2. Smaller handles on both weapons.
3. Swap out of weapons from left to right hand to better show the pose.
4. Small details in the skirt.
Hope you guys like the new version and please ignore the first image from a couple days ago.
Thanks

Here is a little something to keep you guys talking over the weekend. This is the Union Heavy Support Rolling Thunder. Yes, its that big and that awesome.

Some changes to Capt Wayward
Update #117 · Jun 22, 2013 · 9 comments
We heard your requests to fix a few issues with Capt Wayward. We felt that since he is such a huge part of the MERCS team we should listen.
Gone is the silly video game hair and bell coat.
We hope you guys see our vision for his action packed pose. He is blocking a close combat attack and shooting his enemy in the face. Now that is a captain I want to fight for.

Backer Created Characters First Look
Update #118 · Jun 24, 2013 · 4 comments
So in our kickstarter campaign we had three super cool backers that decided to create their own characters.
These three guys worked with our team over the past several months to come up with some great ideas for WWX.
One of these backers actually purchased a model of his character for each backer past a specific reward. We now know him as the "Secret Backer".
We also got a chance to work with two other great guys who provided some great ideas that our team used in creating their minis.
Well we are happy to announce and show off these three new minis coming out soon.
Marcus Killingsworth (The Secret Backer Mini)
Sasha Tanner (The Assassin)
The Wraith (Bounty Hunter)
We want to say thanks to each of these backers and what they contributed to the effort and to you guys the backers.

Next up, some character models!
This guy here may bring a groan from anyone who has tried to read a few Kickstarter comments sections!
Abe Lincoln of the Union Army
Update #120 · Jul 1, 2013 · 7 comments
Here is the first look at Abe Lincoln. This model actually comes with 2 sets of arms that can be changed out.
This allows you to set Abe up with the look that you like best.
Check out the detail in his face and how close he looks to the real man.
Very cool.

Dark Council and Spirit Totem Influence Markers
Update #121 · Jul 8, 2013 · 9 comments
The Spirit Totem in the middle is shown with additional mini totems also usable to get influence tokens. When a large totem is surrounded by six mini totems the influence range extends to the entire table. The Warrior Nation call this a spiritual battle ground.
Every Dark Council Member model gives the user 1 influence token usable to change dice roles during the game.

Stone Fist Mounted On Running Thunder Model
Update #122 · Jul 8, 2013 · 16 comments
We think that this model has gotten some of the most fan feedback of our range. We wanted to really show you what this guy was all about.
Here is Stone Fist on his Energy Beast named Running Thunder. Not only has his Energy Beast continued to live long after being energized with the earth power but now carries two full size Union cannons stolen by Stone Fist after a bloody battle.
These cannons are some of the most deadly weapons in our game. With a Power 12 Range 24 Howitzer shot x2, Running Thunder packs a major punch.
Look for the painted version in just a couple weeks.
The second picture is for size only.

Another miniature that makes me think I'll be picking up some Warrior Nation stuff eventually - if not sooner!
Geronimo of the Warrior Nation
Update #123 · Jul 10, 2013 · 13 comments
We are not even going to waste time saying a bunch of stuff here. This model is just freakin AWESOME!

And finally, the State of the Union (and Outlaws, and Warrior Nation, and Confederates, and...):
Project Status #1 at the 4 month mark.
Update #124 · Jul 12, 2013 · 7 comments
Hello WWX Fans,
As you all know the shipping date for WWX is quickly approaching. We have been keeping everyone excited and entertained with great updates and photos of the models in the range.
We also promised all of our great backers that we would continue updating everyone on progress and production. So this update is designed to get you guys in the know on exactly what is happening and how things are progressing.
The first thing to remember is that when we ended our Kickstarter campaign in late March we had set ourselves up for a very demanding and challenging schedule. 80+ models in less than six months that all had a unique look and feel.
This meant that all of these minis not only would end up looking totally different than the next but they would all have a detailed and exciting look. With that came concept art, 3D design, meetings, story lines, stat building, and of course production. Oh, and lets not forget tooling production that requires many programming and machining steps itself.
As we get closer to our dates we will break up the updates in sections. We look at the overall project as four specific sections. Media (rule book, art book, comics, novels, box art), In-house Resin (models being made in the USA like bosses and vehicles), China Plastic (hired hands, and other similar items), and lastly Accessories (templates, counters, dice, and terrain).
So how is progress moving along on the great game of WWX? Actually our teams have been doing an amazing job. Many of the deadlines we set for ourselves have been achieved and actually finished early. However with any new company surprises will happen.
These surprises have pushed some time lines a bit past what we expected so we are keeping you guys in to loop every step of the way.
Here are the four sections and how they are progressing at this time.
Media - 75% finished - Final rules have been written and the book is in the final stages of layout. With the hard part behind us we will be sending the print ready rule book files to China on August 1st. Printing will take 3 weeks for all 3000 of our books. They will than quickly put those on a container and ship them out to our US warehouse. Expected delivery will be mid to late September to us.
In-House Resin - 60% finished - With close to 10,000 models to make we are very happy on how quickly the resin is being produced. Not only that but the quality is beyond what we expected and is getting us very excited about the overall product. Many of you have purchased Mic Ironclad or received the Lady Of The West. The quality of our final product has actually increased since those models have been made. This is a really cool and exciting event for us. The overall resin count should be on time in mid to late September.
China Plastic - 20% finished - This is the one area that has moved the slowest. Mainly this has moved slower because of the workload that our partner has been sacked with. The China company we are using is the best in the business. With being the best you get a lot of work and our partner is no different. This has caused a bit of a delay on their end. It's something we have discussed in great detail with the owners and they totally understand our need for fast delivery. On the other hand WWX and our partners will not rush a product just to make a deadline. We want you guys to have the best miniatures possible and that takes a bit of time. These plastic minis will be the best in the industry no matter what.
So what does that mean for delivery dates? The fact is that with adding templates to the plastic needs and the entire Mercs batch as a special secret bonus plastic kit instead of resin added around 4 weeks of delays. This means the we are looking at late October or even the first week of November for our plastics. However we are looking at possibly pushing them faster. We just don't want to rush a great product to get things to you three or four weeks early.
Accessories - 65% finished - Currently Micro Art is banging away on the buildings and Chessex is finalizing the dice. We also have other items like posters and goodies that are well ahead of schedule. We don't feel like there will be any delay on these items arriving to us on time for mid to later September.
In the end we are around 55% finished with our project. Considering the amount of minis in the range and the super cool additional items we are doing great. We will keep you guys posted on a two week basis so everyone knows exactly what is happening. As always we will continue to show you sweet pictures of the models as they are finished by our great team of artists.
Have a great weekend to all and remember, "In Jesse We Trust"

After that big catch up, I'll see if I can stay on top of stuff here going forward...

As a special secret Plastic instead of resin secret. Not actually free Charlie. Sorry if that came off confusing. However if the plastic delay is longer than a couple weeks we do plan to take care of everyone in a special way.
More to come in update two and three as China gets us the latest on production. No matter what you guys will always get the best possible treatment from us. We promises there will be zero sad pandas in the WWX community.

Just so you guys know we will still be pushing to meet our deadline of September. This is the status today but things may speed up as we move forward. Some things moved quicker and some slower but our goal is still September. You guys will totally be in the know every step of the way from now on.
Don't forget that you will still be able to meet the team and try out the game at GenCon. We will have a PDF version of the rule book then and almost 35+ models to look at. We will even have 2 special edition early release models that did not come out on Kickstarter at our booth. Automatically Appended Next Post: GENCON Update:

Yes guys, we will be at GenCon at the Battle Foam booth. We will not be selling anything from the kickstarter but we will have some special edition models for sale. We will have the full details on this come August 1st.
I can however tell you the names of one of the models.
Kyle The Black as the underboss for the Enlightened. He is a new model that you guys have not see yet. More to come on that and the additional goodies.
Stay tuned.

Yes, you guys will all have access to Kyle The Black and the other secret mini. Both will go up on our shopping cart at the same time as GenCon opens. We are making those models now and will have pictures of them painted before the show. Everyone will get the models at exactly the same price as show customers. We will also be supplying our UK warehouse with the models so shipping internationally should be much cheaper than before.

Also, an interesting thing as come up that I'd like to hear opinions on!
WWX is showing a lot of really cool looking renders, but can they effectively make the transition to actual models?
Some particularly potentially (!) troublesome examples would be Abe and the giant bear Geronimo - can it be done?
I hope so!
