And could cause issues down the road, if the miniatures don't match up well...

It is an...odd choice to make, to go forward with renders that really tend to look as if they maybe, could, might be miniatures.

The "Sheriff Mic Ironclad" miniature came out nicely though, so I'm hopeful.

Not sure if a lot of those flowing, flapping coats will translate.

And I'm really hoping that they pull it off with Geronimo!

Did they give any reason why they're going with those funky bases? My only complaint with not going with a "standard" base (i.e. lipped or beveled) is that those base inserts that you see might not fit other games/systems/etc, which is a shame because the floorboard ones that you see on Sierra Icarus and Totem sun would be fantastic for Warmachine's Pirates, Malifaux's showgirls, 40k trench fighters (IG, or DKoK specifically).

Good question - and I have no idea!

I know that I'll be basing all of my WWX stuff on 'standard' bases, be it GW or PP style - TBD.

Overboss Sheriff Alpha here with your latest update!

Production Update #2 Aug 1st
Update #126 · Aug 1, 2013 · 3 comments

Hi WWX fans,

So the month of August is here and already moving quickly. We wanted to get you the latest information on the production of our cool models. We also wanted to get you some more model pictures to keep you excited for the delivery date that is just around the corner.

Just like the first update we will break everything down into section so you guys know exactly what is going on at each step.

Please don't forget that you can email us any questions you have at info@outlawminiatures.com or go directly to www.wildwestexodusforum.com to see the latest and greatest going on with the WWX world.

Media - 90% finished - The Rule Book is officially at the printers and getting put into print production. We are very happy with the overall look and feel of the book and thing you guys will find it to be an awesome surprise regarding WWX and its history. The Rule Book is packed with over 200 pages of fluff that should really help set the mood for gaming.

In-House Resin - 75% finished - To be honest this has been our greatest surprise. Not only are we still way ahead of schedule on the resin but the models are coming out with amazing detail. We recently purchased a very high quality 3D printer and have been spitting out master models at a rate of 1 to 2 per day. In the 3D printing world that is very vast. What is so exciting for you guys is that the 3D images you have been seeing and can see below is the exact detail that these models are being printed at. Just a few more guys to make and we will be all set with in house resin.

China Plastic - 40% finished - As everyone knows this is the part that has taken the longest up to this point. The good news is that our China factory has informed us that with their added new machines they just installed they have really gotten production moving. We should no more about delivery dates on the Aug 15th update. Stay tuned.

Accessories - 80% finished - The tokens and templates are already tooled and going into actual production runs in China. We are simply waiting to decided on the best color for the templates and plastic tokens. We should have some sample plastics to look at in the coming days and the tokens will then go into production. These get done in just a couple days so we should have the entire run of Templates and Tokens ready by the end of this month. The Micro Art Studio guys tell us they are moving ahead without issues and will have everything done in the coming weeks for delivery to our two shipping locations. More to come on the MAS terrain on the Sept 1st update.

So currently we stand at 70% finished with the entire KS project. Things are moving very quickly and we will continue with the by-weekly updates to keep you guys in the loop.

We also added a special update treat with the finished images of the Kaufmann broghers, Judge Stern, and the evil DC member.

Keep an eye out for more updates in the next few days with the latest models.

The Apache Kid
Update #127 · Aug 2, 2013 · 7 comments
Happy Friday everyone. Here is another of our awesome models. The Outlaw Apache Kid. Once a Warrior Nation up and coming chief he has been tainted by the Dark Council. The appeal of technology and gold has pushed him to leave his tribe and join the bands of outlaws taking over the west. We hope you like him.

I wish I had of pledged for this instead of the Mantic Kings of War kickstarter. Would have loved to have picked up a $60 pledge for Outlaws, they look really really good.

Will wait to see how they go at retail, but I hope the quality stays this way throughout the development of this. Really really nice looking miniatures.

Enlightened Monocav
Update #128 · Aug 5, 2013 · 3 comments
Here is an image of the Enlightened Monocav Light Support Choice.

Not only do these guys move fast (Quickness Eight), but they have a pair of Mini Cannons that shoot Thermite Rounds, and they explode when out of Lifeblood.

So are these things nasty, you better believe they are.

Only the best from Carpathian Enterprises.

A weird machine - kinda cool though!

Depending on retail price I could see some uses for the for my Iron Warriors.

At leats the models are pretty. I just couldn't get into a game who's size doesn't fit with any of my other games. Still will pick up a model from time to time to paint.

I can - when the theme is so far out there that it, for the most part, 'doesn't matter'.

I don't really have any Weird Wild West gaming... until now!

*drops drawers, lets Wyrd knickers fly*

Alph, you could have just come over to the Wyrd side .

Honestly I'm all for weird west, arguably one of my favorite types of settings... I'm just having a hard time getting behind steampunk/western/sci-fi.

And I do hope (for the backers) these models come out as well as they're looking in the mockups.

Do they have a rules preview available for downloading?

Union Locust Light Support Vehicle
Update #129 · Aug 7, 2013 · comment

Here is the first look at the Union Locust Light Support vehicle.

The Union was forced to build these killing machines once they realized the Outlaws and Enlightened had gotten their hands on the Iron Horse technology.

These machines are not as fast but they pack a serious punch.

Yeah, no doubt that it is time for actual models to be shown!

I did purchase "Sheriff Mic Ironclad" and it is a very nice model indeed though.

I'm more concerned about the plastic "Hired Hands" coming from China than I am about anything that they'll be making here themselves.

Special GenCon Early Releases
Update #130 · Aug 9, 2013 · 5 comments

Hi Wild West Exodus fans. As you know we will be attending GenCon on August 15th - 18th. We will be located at booth 633 with our partners Battle Foam. Chad and Sean will be running demos and we will have a full range of models to view along with the official rule book and concept are of upcoming models.

As a special early release we are selling 2 brand new models never before seen. These models will be in limited supply at the show of only 100 of each. We are also making the models available on Thursday morning the 15th via our www.wildwestexodus.com web store. This will help our fans not able to attend the show.

The first model is "Kyle The Black" of the Enlightened faction. Kyle serves as the main surgeon for Dr. Carpathian and his deadly creations. His body has been transformed to not only operate on the bodies of the dead but to also be a deadly opponent on the battle field. Many men have died at the multiple hands of Kyle the Black.

Kyle The Black will come with an official playable character profile card and is a full resin model. $22.00

Next up is "US Marshal McClain", of both the Lawmen and the Outlaws. Marshal McClain has been know to fight the lawless men of the west with tactics considered illegal to some. For this reason he conceals his identity whenever possible so that he may carry on his workings with a faceless presence. Civilians have questioned who truly he fights for. Who will you side McClain with?

US Marshal McClain will come with an official playable character profile card and is a full resin model. $13.00

Stop by booth 633. We can't wait to meet everyone.

I was seriously tempted to grab Kyle McCain at GenCon as he doesn't look too sci-fi... Stupid goggles...

Blackjack the Outlaw Light Support Vehicle.
Update #132 · Aug 13, 2013 · comment

Here is the nastiest little three wheeled monster you will ever see scream across the open desert. Built by the blacksmith's of the old west and powered by RJ-1027 Power Cells it rockets the dirty outlaws to all of their robberies.

Not only do they move like lightning but they can shoot the lights out with their four mini cannons in the nose. Watch out Lawmen, this baby has you in it's sights.

I'm a sucker for models with bandannas on their faces... love that look. Whether it's rebels, outlaws, anything!

Hence, I quite like that rider although I'm not as sure about the bike...

Oh must pick those up at Gencon as I already 8 models for WWX. I honestly just love them and could care less if I ever played (though I plan on it).

Listen, my children, as I pass onto you the truth behind Willy Wonka and his factory. For every wonka bar ever created in existance, Mr. Wonka sacraficed a single Oompa Loompa to the god of chocolate, Hearshys. Then, he drank the blood of the fallen orange men because he fed them a constant supply of sugary chocolate so they all became diabetic and had creamy, sweet-tasting blood that willy could put into each and every Wonka bar. That is the REAL story behind willy wonka's Slaughter House!
