Did you catch the video where Mark basically admitted he'd "dropped everything" to work on this other RPG concept game of his over the Christmas holiday? Yea, I've got their kudos right here...

I did not. Link?

Also, Mark? You mean Mack?

Also also, as written, if he was literally on Christmas break, I have no problem with him working on his own personal projects. Even salary folks are entitled to downtime, however they want to spend it.

Anyway, word from the KS comments is that "phase one" of the packages will be shipping out as of yesterday and today.

"What is in 'phase one'?" you might be asking.

vOv Nobody knows.

Word from the KS comments is that a guy who backed at the Core tier received his package, so hopefully at least those went out.

As noted before, it'll be interesting to see when the tiers with the MPMs start arriving (all 3 higher tiers) and the Hardcovers (Living Room, Gaming Room).

As for retail, I wouldn't be surprised if they had the 'big launch' at Gencon and went to retail for September/October.

From the latest issue of Wyrd Chronicles:

And as you can see by the above, it's been that sort of month as we dive and dodge
through getting everything together for the shipping of the Through the Breach
kickstarter (yaaay .. seriously, yaaay with me people ... yaaaaay) which is leaving
the warehouse in overfilled trucks and should be finished and all gone by the time
you read this. For those of you getting the heavy packages of goodness, take a
moment to look through it when you get it and let us know your thoughts. I hope
you are as pleased with the final product as I am.

So, it appears we have two updates in a row. And they both contain good news. The first one contains a pic of the sprue.

Wyrd Miniatures wrote:
Project Update #61: Out the Door!

We can see the floor of the warehouse again!

The majority of the boxes were done last week and out the door, with the last handful being picked up early this week. What that means is that you all should start to see your pledge rewards arriving shortly. The only thing missing from these boxes is the hardcover deluxe book for the game room level, which is still on the way, and will be sent in a second shipment when we have it.

As a little bit of bonus news. When we got the multi-piece minis properly sized, we discovered we had more space so we packed on extras!! More pieces means more minis! In fact a single sprue, either male or female, now can make up to 11 minis. Here is a quick look at what you can do with a single sprue of each.

And here is a look at how packed the sprues are:

Thank you everyone, let us know in the comments when your package arrives!

Eric

This second one contains some shots of boxes on pallets.

Wyrd Miniatures wrote:
Project Update #62: Piles of Boxes

So as I was preparing for the last update, I asked everyone around here if they had take a photo of the piles, but it seemed like no one had...Of course, shortly after the update I hear "Oh, we did take photos, a ton of them!"

So here are palates of rewards waiting to go out the door:

But that's not all, turn around, there are WAY more boxes:

Thanks all!

Eric

Look great from a distance. I'd like to see close ups though. 44 minis for my pledge + others is pretty cool (almost don't mind the wait!).

This has happened EVERY YEAR. While I do still like wyrd, we've had a bit of falling out and one of the reasons is "OMG we're so swamped cuz gencon". Hire some temps, retailers do it all the time during holiday rushes. Bring on some temporary pickers & packers, I'm sure you could go down to the local highschools, post some flyers & you'd get people who'll do it.

Trade rules: lower rep trades ships 1st. - I ship within 2 business days, if it will be longer I will contact you & explain. - I will NOT lie on customs forms, it's a felony, do not ask me to mark sales as "gifts". Free shipping applies to contiguous US states.

Yeah, I noticed that they got a lot quieter around Gencon time, both preceding and following it. Like, July, August and September.

Which is when I developed my belief that Gencon isn't a weekend for some companies. It's an entire quarter.

I'm a little sad that we've had to wait so long between updates, but I am glad that Eric not only took the time to take the pictures, put out two updates in a day, but also assembled the minis. They do look pretty good. If I don't use them for fated, I've got plenty of NPCs

Where do those multipart miniatures come from? I am looking for Malifaux esque figs, but a lot of the metals left me wanting posability.. looking at that sprue shot.. I think this might be a good fit for my needs.

Is it possible that they will hit retail at some point as a box set?

I assume they will go into retail at some point, maybe they'll have them available on the webshop during gencon.

Keeping an eye on ebay the comming weeks may prove fruitfull to, a lot of people got 2-4 boxes with their pledge and may be selling them off as they dont need any/that many.

Yes, they've said that the two MPM boxes will be available at retail eventually, but I don't believe they've even estimated a timeframe yet.

Presumably they ordered more than they needed to fulfill backer packages (it'd be insane to fall short on such a thing), so from watching their past behaviour, it wouldn't surprise me if a small number were made available during the Black Friday or Easter sale.

Also, check ebay/craigslist/trade forums. Dining Room and Gaming Room backers got 2 of each box, so I imagine at least some will end up on the secondary market in the coming weeks.

On Facebook (Eric himself posts in A Wyrd Place, a Facebook group), I believe he said that they definitely want to get them out, but by Gencon would be tough (and probably quite unfair to backers that didn't have their sets yet).

EDIT: Personally, I think I'm going to pick up the male set to make some Latigo Pistoleros for my Guild.

So, the books are definitely a thing because my copy just arrived! In addition to the two books, the fate deck and Miss Terious for pledging early, they also threw in the Ramos M&SU starter with a little sticker on it that says "Thank you for your patience"

Not too shabby

Mack. I don't know why I keep calling him Mark. Anyway, I finally found the link for you.

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/0/582588.page

My comments were added to the OP so you can read them there. In the video, Mack said he dropped everything to work on this sci-fi RPG during the holiday break. In industry terms, "holiday break" means much of December and the first week of January - work days, not vacation days. Now, I don't have any problems with Mack doing whatever he wants on his personal time. What irritates me is that he stopped working on a kickstarter-funded RPG to develop his own speculative game in the hopes Wyrd would give it a green light.

Let me ask you this, Forar. What would the general reaction be if Dreamforge Games or the guys at Raging Heroes stopped work for a month to develop their own pet projects instead of keeping their kickstarters on schedule?

I think you're ignoring some pertinent details; even if Mack abandoned work on TtB for Feb/part of Jan, we still got the completed PDFs at the end of February, so clearly that month didn't interfere too heavily with the completion of the 2 TtB books. And even if that's the case 'in the industry' (I still think it's a plain language statement), that '5 or so weeks' you're describing still presumabyl loses 1-2 weeks (or more?) to the actual literal holidays. So 2-3'ish weeks? Meh.

And given that it ended up being delayed a year, a couple of weeks or even a month is a drop in the bucket. Would I be happy? No, but Wyrd's fethed so much of this project up that even the lead taking a month long 'creative vacation' is kinda low ire garnering compared to 'oops, it somehow took us 3 times as long to get the minis made than we'd anticipated'.

The books were pretty thorough, and I haven't looked specifically at which content areas were listed as added, but the thoroughness of details was at very least nice for giving a sense of world. I can look more, later...

Also,I tforget i they were going to send any digital exclusive. If so, we haven't seen that.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Okay, skimming through the content since I'm getting up slowly anyways. These are based on playing Malifaux and other RPGs, since I haven't played TTB

General:
-malifaux illustration so color is of course nice. Illustrations are very cool, but sometimes feel padded regarding size (IDK how common this is in RPGS, been a while since I've flipped through one)

Fated:
-additional pursuits are very good: without them, starting classes would have felt a bit generic, I expect.
-the gear section is padded, but it's mostly padded with lots of very fun character and world details. Also, most weapons aren't just a stat line, so the variety does look like it serves a purpose (compare to D&D 3 where some weapons were just obviously better). The section could be smaller, but I like the history (being an RPG player, world stuff matters)
-magic : the section is pretty dense. I expect the space went straight to content.
-advanced pursuits: these add some more specific classes

Fatemaster's:
-dispositions are't in it, I assume they got renamed?
-the skirmish rules are pretty light, mostly because the RPG has similar structure to the skirmish game
-the bestiary is something I feel would be pretty necessary, not sure how you play without that...

Huh, first Hannah I've seen on ebay: $300 or best offer.

Honestly I'm surprised it took so long for one to get on there, though from the way people have been mentioning getting their boxes, it does seem the started with the core boxes and perhaps the living rooms. ie; the boxes with Hannah might have been wave 2 (coincidentally or otherwise).

Very interested to see how the secondary market reacts, and what the availability ends up being like. Only a trickle of the stuff seems to be popping up so far, but I imagine that'll change next week when more of the boxes start landing.

Got my pledge today (sans hardbacks), and I also got a Ramos MSU box as a thank you. Unfortunately I had this one, so off to ebay it goes lol.

My multipart minis are also the wrong scale, more along the lines of a 35-40mm. For example the female body towers over Von Schill, even before you add her head. I also have 13 figures per sprue instead of the 11. I wonder if they sent the old screwed up versions by mistake?

While I respect that there are always going to be slips across 1,500'ish boxes... it is kind of funny that part of the reason they declared that they'd *only* have 4 tiers and zero add ons was to keep things simple for the warehouse.

Missing the books is kind of a huge thing.
