If I were to take Guard as an allied detachment, would taking a lone vendetta be worth it? I dont like the idea of them having to squadron if I want more....

I think, since most planes fly solo, it will not be a huge problem :p

I only have one so far. I will let you know in his thread if one works well or gets wtfpwned.

I think it would see quite a bit of use as a dedicated anti-air hunter.

A lone vendetta is fine. Cheap and nearly disposable

I plan on using it to compliment 1-2 heldrakes, points permitting.

im thinking 1 helturkey and 1 vendetta personally. The vendi will have a cheap guard squad inside to grab a late objective.

Its currently a turkey and a detta. Theres no squad in the vendetta, its running as a gunboat atm.

50 points isnt such a bad thing to put in there.

I know you dont always want to put them in there but having something from the guard list that CAN fit in there is nice.

Ive actually changed it about a little for points sake. The detta currently has a plasma ccs riding shotgun

CCSes are very nice. Too good to be riding around imho

but a regular guard squad, a PCS, or even a nearly naked special weapons squad(if points are really a problem and the PCS is somewhere) can be put in.

The only guard units im running in my list are 2 lots of vets in chimeras, and the ccs in a detta. The rest of the force in plague marines, so ive nothing else to put into the detta that i can afford points wise.

o well if you arent gonna use a platoon then i understand. I would put the CCS in the chim and the vet squad in the detta. Or all in chims. CCS are just mad good.

Im using the ccs in the detta so that i can drop the 4 plasma guns wherever i need them at the drop of a hat. Id rather keep the vets in the chims tbh
