The prints finally came in today. I was hoping to have them last monday but things ran a bit behind schedual as he was still getting over the Flu.
These are the raw masters I need to some cleaning and a touch of greenstuffing before they are ready for casting. I'm hoping to have the molds ready by Mon-Tues. The vending machines and info sign make for some pretty heafty pieces. The key board on the data terminal came out awesome and you can see all the individual keys, I couldn't get a clear pic yet as my camera won't focus in that tightly.
Once these are in resin a lot more details will be visable, my camera has a very tough time photographing the raw print material as it diffuses light which causes all sorts of problems getting the light levels to process correctly. I'll post more pics as soon as I get the casts finished.

Yes I'll make a couple labels to go with the parts. I'll run them off on a laser printer so they have a more glossy finish than the ones I posted. (those were on a regular ink jet)
It'd basically be a mailing address label which you can trim down and then use a hobby knife or pin to help remove the backing.

Here's the test cast for the soda machine. Still working on the food vendor and info sign.
Currently the larger pieces are two parts, does anyone have a preferance for having them done as a single cast piece or would being two part be fine?
Cost I'm looking at about $1.50 for the garbage can & data terminal. The vending machines and info sign are pretty large and will probably be about $4-$5.

I think whatever is better for casting makes it better. It's not as if, lo and behold, we've forgotten glue exists.
I'd probably be down for 2 vending machines, 2 data terminals, 4 garbage cans and 2 of your bigger consoles. Even before the test casts are in.

Info sign is done.

I'll need to get this painted up but I was experimenting with a couple graphics. I also want to do an insert showing subway or bus routes. These could also serve nicely as large outdoor flat screen TVs.
These are now available on my website: http://www.paulsongames.com/28mm-terrain.html

I think I got in first on his orders ;D. While I know the cost is fair most of it was a little pricey, but I had to nab some of those soda machines. Very Infinity friendly.

Yep you made the first order.
The costs I'm in a hard spot on, having detail on front, sides and rear means I can't just do a single piece mold. They need to be two part molds which means bigger molds and reduces the total number of parts I can cast at one time. Plus I'm fairly certain people are only going to need a few copies at most, I don't think anyone will need 20 machines for instance so that will limits sales.
For the large parts the material cost of resin and silicone averages out to about $2 per cast. (normally I can get 2-3 infantry figures out of that same amount or material) I know that price is a concern as there are some cheaper options but those are going to be either plastic or less detailed stuff. I'm just not sure how else I can price stuff and have it still remain viable as a retail item.
I'm always open to ideas and feedback.
Lol I hadn't thought of that when building it but it does look very much like an old video game cartridge.

The food vendor is missing some kind of 'Soylent Green' or 'Nuke'em Beans' company logo by the way

The price is defiantly fair, don't get me wrong on that. You could proably get away with a singe piece mold on the vending machines or do another cheaper variant as a single piece. Most of those I see being backed up to a building wall or inside a building up against a wall. The key there is they still need to be a solid .75"-1" width to be good as cover, so you probably would use the same about of resin, just shorter mold times and less silicone.

I'm curious... why no PayPal from Brazil or Italy? Automatically Appended Next Post: And I've just send you an order. Sure, it's small, but that's about what I need.

I don't know about Brazil, but Italy and Russia are rather notorious for pulling the old "I never got it!" scam with eBay and PayPal - and eBay and PayPal almost always side with the buyer in those disputes.

In the past I've had several problems with stuff going to both Italy and Brazil. Repeated claims that stuff never arrived, either the buyer was filing false claims or their mail system really sucks. Either way it ended up costing me way too much money.
I used to sell warmachine stuff and one of the orders to Italy was over $600 worth of stuff and the buyer filed a "item not as described" dispute over it because he was mad that he was being charged a 30% customs fee. (I had told him up front customs are his responsibility) As I'd had previous problems with Italy I was wise enough to send it with delivery and signature confirmation along with a list of contents and I had even taken pictures of the contents to be safe. Fortunately I won the dispute but it was a risk that I decided I wasn't going to take anymore.

Well, if you look at their past Prime Minister, Italians should be known for allegations and false claims. As well as misconducts. Amirite, people?

I have the info sign painted up now so here's the group shot.
I'll be making a stop today at Kinkos to run off some of the graphic labels and orders will start shipping out tomorrow. Thank you guys for the orders that have come in so far.
I'm going to sit down with my list of ideas and see what I can tackle for my next project.
