So that's what a Bec de Corbin is, I've been wondering that ever since the days of the first Player's Handbook.
I thought they were supposed to invoke raven beaks to be honest. Automatically Appended Next Post: warboss wrote:

Geneseed Implantation pros: increased strength, toughness and agility... ability to spit and maybe piss vinegar literally.... access to cool new weapons and armor...
Cons: no longer fit through the Rock' s doggie doors or in the secret watcher clubhouse

Except there is a large difference between them in terms of amount of Gothic bling on one and not the other. If you don't like your fighter aircraft looking like they are decorated with stone and brick, one is very much more appealing depending on your tastes. Just because you don't have the pallet to recognize the differences between the two doesn't mean they don't exist.
I don't think he was talking about people preferring the nephilim over the dark talon, because it should be painfully obvious why people do, but rather people who prefer this kit over the stock storm talon that the kit uses as a base.
Which doesn't make any sense anyway, because the storm talon looks stupid for other reasons. Considering how it's being used here, the storm talon is like selling people the fuselage for a jet fighter but forgetting to put wings on it, so it rightfully is more ridiculous.

So it seems GW's design strategy goes as follows:
Take Space Marine vehicle
Take cathedral part
Meld with said vehicle in the most ridiculous way possible.

I just can't get excited about anything in this release at all.
The Speeder looks like a 1987 GI Joe toy with some DA bits stuck to it.
The Nephilim looks allright (issues with individual marine chapters manufacturing their own unique snowflake variant aircraft aside) but the Dark Talon (seriously, Storm Talon to Dark Talon...?) looks like an exaggerated parody of what someone would joke about 40k with.
Everything else is...alright, but nothing that is really a "wow" release.
Even at the local shop, this is probably the most passed-on release I've ever seen.

In a bizarre way, I'm kind of excited by this release.
This, coupled with the CSM release, has been met with such apathy that maybe, just maybe, that GW will get the message where it hurts the most. That, and only that, is the way to communicate dissatisfaction to them.
If you feel compelled to buy anything, I humbly ask you to at least purchase from an independent retailer, which has the twin benefits of supporting a small business and only earning GW the wholesale value.
I have a horrible feeling that GW have made a conscious switch to a more action figure vibe, and only by refusing to purchase can we persuade them of their error.

Rick Priestley said it best:
Bryan always said that if the studio ever had to mix with the manufacturing and sales part of the business it would destroy the studio. And I have to say – he wasn’t wrong there! The modern studio isn’t a studio in the same way; it isn’t a collection of artists and creatives sharing ideas and driving each other on. It’s become the promotions department of a toy company – things move on!

I think one issue is GW keeps focusing on new toys (dinobots, flying cathedrals) and ignoring basic troops.
There's not much to be done with the DA (plastic techmarine, plastic servitors maybe) but with Chaos they need plastic cult marines (plague, 1k sons, noise marines) and frankly both the normal CSMs and the termies are pretty poor. The starter cultists are cool, but no multipart kit for them. A real kit for the Dread/Hellbrute also seems a top priority. But no... instead GW did dinobots.

We are in the days of Monster40K for sure... its a shame but GW would rather bring out 'new and exciting' oversized kits they can charge more for than go back and update some older models that BADLY need it (seriously Abaddon looks like an angry midget compared to his Bodyguard)

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Well at least on the UK site it already has, that's less than 24 hours.
Personally I don't see why people have a problem with them, if you've got the money for it and they're you're favourite army then go for it, the value is entirely decided by the purchaser.

Sorry if this has been stated elsewhere, but people keep saying that Belial making Deathwing terminators troops has been confirmed, but I haven't been able to find out where this is said, either on the GW website or in the White Dwarf.
Since Deathwing troops is kinda why I'd get into the army in the first place...can someone please tell me where it says this, if it does?

Why would they? A marine in power armour is still a marine in power armour and there is still a perfect chapter upgrade sprue that works wonders.
