Good work, Dave.

What's happened to the other two sides of it? I can't remember what was there or if you had any plans round there.

Thanks Doc!

Nothing special, because they will have other buildings/ruins butted up against them, but the other sides are all done.

Paint runs before it dries

Nope, interior is sealed.

Here I built the produce rack using some of this cool textured paper that (I think) Damo sent me

Forgive me if It was someone else who sent it to me, it's been awhile

Thanks Vik! But there isn't much of a table yet. Just 3 buildings so far.

Uiiiiii....*does lil jigg*

In my view it looks almost finished for those small towns you have in new Vegas ... Ok for the Washington area you need some more... But it is a stunning setup!!!!

Tho...seeing now the current building... Did you completely forgotten about the roof? What about a nice sniper nest and some surprisingly empty amo crates?

Well, there is all kinds of room up there. That stuff would be linear/scatter terrain. I wouldn't want to model anything permanently up there.

hmmm.... that is indeed a point i understand... but from a conniseur point of view...well...... maybe if you use really thin PC as a base and then make yourself some interesting looking roof decor? *pretty please ?*

I'm afraid I'm not following you Vik?
I attempted to cut a piece of tiled plasticard for the roof, but like a dumbass I traced it onto the back of the sheet and it didn't fit, besides, the square tiles don't look right on that funky angled overhang part. Tiled plasticard is too expensive to screw up like that.

well...of course scatter terrain could be modeled to just stand on its own accord with no need for any kind of base...
my mind just always thinka about based terrain...so in my terms would need a very thin base to work up there...

it is quite frightening how good you are now with a rotten look...... that rack looks done already... and those benches... suitably a centrury give or take on them

Thanks guys! Thinnable India inks are one of my most favorite discoveries! The benches were molded in green, I just sprayed them heavily with thinned black ink, then thinned some rust color and sprayed it on while wet, it sort of wet-blended the colors together for that lovely shade of filth!
Now I need a method to make bent tin cans!

hmmm..... what about a wooden rod... then print out the ribbed tin can texture and then after sealing and glueing it to the rod...cut it down to size...?

and throw the odd beer bottle and knife into the rack

Made in us

hmmm..a possibility..Do you think the printed texture would be enough to fool the eye?

When I first sat the shelf next to the building, I pooped a bit, thinking I'd made it too tall, but then I realized, even at 6 feet tall, I can never quite reach the top shelf either

definetly not too tall!... just because you can leap ingame upwards adn fight in a supermarket on top of the barricades and walkways in FO doesn´t mean you need to rely on your brainwashed concepts of RL here

looks awesome, you may only have 3 buildings but each of those buildings looks better than most game tables!

Those shelves bang on, simple and effective.

Could you get away with painting the effect on the cans by deliberately painting streaks, bad brush and some brown paint maybe?

This is where I pop in as say that you could carve them out of sprue...

Bottles are pretty easy, I haven't tried cans yet, but they are on my list of things to do.

Benches and shelves look good.

The top shelf is obviously for things that are just to make the display pretty and eye-catching from a distance, and you could always ask a (bored) member of staff to get it down for you if they haven't get any others in stock.

At that scale though, a printed off design on a roll of paper would probably work fine and crushing them would probably look quite realistic.
