love the idea of plasma beings or even cristal beings and it kinda pains me that GW never really made an army like that :/

what about ethereal units that are virtually invisible to the humanoid eye, thus are constantly obscured, comprised of subatomic particles that can pierce any known armour or flesh, granting AP2 on every attack...

now thats a pretty cool idea, or maybe techno zombies where once you kill a tank or walker you can replace it with something like 2D6 scrap thralls.

Nice idea, it would be like playing Screamer based daemons but you'd save a ton of money because you'd only need the bases. New "counts as" army here I come...

Or what about a fandex for a race of giants (monstrous creatures) who are preternaturally fast (fleet and permanent cover save) and have the ability to generate energy blasts from their bodies?

Well, while I am personally a 'bottom up' design guy (meaning I start with the mechanics and build up from there while top-down means that you start with a fluffy concept and make rules that fit), and I'm noticing that there are a few niches that need to be filled out more in 40k. These niches are:

An army that is more 'horde' than guard or IG. I'm thinking troops choices that are as cheap as 2 points per model (or less) with an extremely low stat line.

An army of big things. Think sorta like what Ogres are for fantasy. Every model is on a terminator sized base, probably has T5, possibly even multiple wounds, and a decent to low save (4+ or worse)

A 'Vampire Counts' style army with a focus on Necromancy raising cheap filler units.

An army with 4+ saves (as a serious note, the 4+ armor niche is the one in need of the most filling. The only codices that occupy it are sorta IG (nobody takes carapace armor), sorta Tau (just Fire Warriors and Pathfinders), sorta crons (Warriors and scarabs?) and sorta SM (very few people take scouts in large numbers).

These are just sorta a few directions you could go with your army. Just don't make another 3+ save army. The game is bloated with those (all SM variants, Sisters, Necrons, and kinda Tau (I've seen Tau armies with more Crisis Suits than fire warriors)).

Well The Doctor could somehow get entangled up in the 40k Universe and we could be seeing beings like Cantarens a Ork like race with Eldar Intelligence and their entire race is made of Clones and clone planets.

Or Daleks another Machine race but with a squishy mutent inside or maybe Cybermen whom are basically necrons but try to fuse with other beings and make them cybermen instead of just killing them or we could get the giant eyeball ship monsters known as the atraksi

This is an actually good idea. It could be a horde style army of servitors with tech priest elites and hqs, and then converter squads to take downed vehicles and fix them into more troops. Like cheap tervigons that rely on broken vehicles
