Agreed, the aesthetic consistency there is really rather weak.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

I think I would have liked to see a bit more of the exposed exoskeleton on the G3s, kind of like how the G1 and G2 have them. As it is, they just have boney spikes jutting out of them which doesn't look quite so cool.

Indeed, quite happy about the news on the Enforcers; they're the main focus of my addons and have looked good so far.

Yup, same here. It's also a good foundation for larger scale warpath armies, at least if they get it right this time. Then again they'll gave learnt their lesson from the Goblin debacle and since they're using digital sculpts here to begin with that pitfall is quite unlikely this time round

I'm unsure what these plastic sprues mean in regards to what I've already pledged for.

Are they going to replace the figures in the starters/ boosters?

What about individual figures I pledge for that are now going to be included on the spure- like a cypher prime?

Hope Mantic is going to better explain this.

If they offer cheap sprues for round two... hoo boy.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

I'm in the same boat, I went for a few of the booster minis but not the full boosters so I've paid for them separately but it looks like they are now on the sprues and everyone gets them regardless (or Mantic clip them off ) I've asked and need to wait for an answer I'd like to reallocate the money if I don't need to buy them now.

It's great news about the hard plastic but it's very confusing update at the last minute.

To be honest im a bit confused as well, as in how does this effect add ons?

Im glad were getting plastic as im not a huge fan of their resin-plastic mix.

I think mantic need a better update as to how this effects everything.

The Full Deadzone Update:

Plastic Fantastic
Update #103 · Jul 19, 2013 · 9 comments

Big news for you today!
Final Weekend

Sunday is your last chance to get your finalized survey into us. Addresses, Contact Details and your choices are key details for us and we need this as soon as possible so we can start processing and ordering.

We're keeping an eye out for the responses.

One key thing is that IF your survey is late, we’ll still process your order however we will not be able to add-on anything that isn’t a Mantic Product – that means no Battle Foam, no Army Painter and no Antenociti's Workshop scenery. If you want these items then please get your survey in as quickly as you can!

Before you do that though, we’ve some important information.
NEW! Hard Plastic Sprues

Good news ladies and gentlemen – we’re going to be producing hard plastic sprues for the Enforcers, Asterian Cyphers and Forge Father Forge Guard!

This breakthrough is down to the Cyphers, Forge Guard and the Enforcers being digitally sculpted.

We’re working on pulling the sprue layout diagrams together but this is a hugely exciting piece of news that we wanted to tell you before the Kickstarter Survey deadline.

Asterian Cypher Concept

The Asterian Hard Plastic Sprue contains the Asterian Cyphers, Cypher with Heavy Weapons (Fission Beam and Rocket Launcher) and the Cypher Prime – we’re hoping to squeeze the gun drone on there too! All other Asterian Miniatures remain sprueless Plastic Resin.

Forge Guard Render

The Forge Guard Hard Plastic Sprue contains the Forge Guard, Forge Guard Huscarl plus Heavy Weapons including Rocket Launcher, Heat Cannon and Hailstorm Autocannon. All other Forge Father Miniatures remain sprueless Plastic Resin.

IMPORTANT! Enforcer Components - note that not everything included in this image will be in hard plastic and that the picture does not include all variants - there are some components missing. All of the torsos will have bases attached.

The Enforcer Hard Plastic Sprue contains 5 Enforcer Bodies with enough parts to arm them with Heavy Rifles, Assault Blades and Pistol. You can also build an Enforcer Sergeant, Enforcer with Heavy Weapons (Rocket Launcher, Incinerator, Burst Laser) and you have the bodies for the Enforcer Defenders. All other Enforcer Miniatures (including Sniper, Engineer and the Defender Shields and Shotguns) remain sprueless Plastic Resin.

We’re super excited by this – a hard plastic Enforcer sprue was something we’d always dreamt of and now being able to do it, plus two additional kits as well, is just unbelievable. You made this possible and we cannot thank you enough.

The other great thing of course is that the Deadzone Model range is fully compatible with our Warpath line, meaning we’re getting a total of five new hard plastic miniature kits (Enforcers, Enforcer Peacekeepers, Cyphers, Forge Guard and Plague Zombies!) to add to the range. Exciting times for the future indeed!

Note that all of the Mercenaries, Plague, Rebs and Marauders will still be in our Sprueless Plastic Resin as well.

I think they need a better explanation as well.

I think they should add a few days on the survey too, because with news like this people will probably want to fiddle with what they want (AGAIN) based on how sprues are going to affect things.

Very curious as to how those Forge Fathers are going to work out on sprues. Dudes better still be thick and chunky!

Good point - I may have to add things... again!

One thing I have noticed and I've sent a email to them about it but haven't received an answer yet on is the fact that when I enter in my Zip Code, which starts with zero, it keeps dropping the first digit!

Hopefully that won't cause any problems...

Mutated Teraton looks quite nice but the loaders don't unfortunately. That said... I do think they look accurate to their concept art which I also didn't like.

Really happy about the new hard plastics, Enforcers will be a brilliant faction with the two different sprues out for them.

This is Mantic punching above their weight, and the digital sculpts generally turn out better so they should be some really high quality sprues comnig our way.

Warpath Enforcer Army is mine. And soon!

There's no way I'd have gone for the £3/mini hybrid restic/metal ones, but these? Yes. Want.

...they're still only semi-multipose though; for example, it seems the enforcers will have the legs and torso in one bit. Not an issue (and even beneficial, what with ranking up!) in fantasy plastics, but a definite downside to sci-fi models IMO. Not insurmountable but I'm not exactly overjoyed at that, TBH.
Still, I'll be going for a fethton of enforcers now for sure.

I agree that having the legs and torso as one piece is disappointing. Seems like two steps forward and one step back, as the saying goes. Still, they indicated that these are still being worked on, so maybe that will change.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, but won't get my hopes up.

If they do a good job with them, I will certainly be getting a gakload more on the second survey.

Not too bothered about the combined torso and legs. Should make assembly easier. To be honest I just hope they are better than the goblin sprue, my one mantic misery :(

Still loving all the plague figs so far, am i the only one?

Well torso and legs as one piece is a nice practical solution, gives the body a nice movement, which would not be possible if the torso and legs were separate interchangeable parts.

The plague have grown on me to be honest. The stretched torso is weird but in a way that is interesting.
The single torso legs is a pity as it makes it less versatile without getting the saw out.... But the bits do look good all up.

Looks like Mantic is finally getting things right again. I'm very excited about their future again.

For some reason, I want to compare Mantic to the Cleveland Indians as portrayed in Major League. They've finally found out they need glasses.

Hopefully they'll get back to you soon. I contacted them through the Kickstarter mail system for the same problem. The guy who got back to me told me that it was a bug with the software used for the surveys, it views the address box like a quantity and so omits the zero for zip codes. He told me he was sorry for the inconvenience and would fix it manually.

I'll have a review of the Basiliean men at arms sprue up super-quick once the final KoW package is delivered. That'll be a good acid test for seeing if the tooling issues there are sorted.

One other thing that is worthy of praise... it looks like all this new hard plastic is a result of them getting surveys back and realising that with a lot of extra cash coming in on top of what the KS earned, they're free to go ahead and use it to make the minis even better.

No KS/amazon fees on survey additions either, which allows them to make full use of the bonus cash.

It's pretty good to see the product being made even better post-KS, a lot of companies either pocket the survey cash or use it to cover shortfalls in their budget. I like the fact that Mantic has a ringfenced kickstarter account, used only to fund production of KS product.

Excellent, glad they managed to do the troops in plastic. Hopefully they don't look out of place beside their restic brothers.

As opposed to siphoning it off for boardgames and HQ upgrades you mean? : p

Well, having built the current Enforcer models, I'm actually pleased to see the legs/torso as one piece. The way the current ones are designed, they wind up having a pretty unsightly gap. Plus, doing them this way does actually bring them in line with the other sci-fi plastics for the most part. The Corp troops are like that, the Veer-myn are like that, the Orx are like that, and most of the Forge Fathers are like that I think as well. The real question is, do I want to magnetize mine?

Also, hooray for plastic Asterians! I seem to be the only one who is really looking forward to them though. :(

You're not the only one. I think the plastic Asterians will rock the craftsba. If they manage to make them wraithguard-sized but not wraithguard-priced, they should do even better.

(I will not be using them as wraithguard. I just like the aesthetics of the design. But the reality is that most sales will probably be to disgruntled 40k fans.)

Which means they'll do really good for a while - until they get around to Major League II then it's a whole new set of shenanigans!

These aren't Infinity figures. They're identically-sized, heavily-armoured and in fairly-neutral poses. Belt profile will be identical, or near enough as to make no difference, and torso twist is hidden behind it. They could very easily be provided as separate interchangeable halves with no other modification to the sculpts.

Of more concern than the one-piece bodies are the fused weapons and arms. Especially with weapons that silly.

Barzam wrote:Well, having built the current Enforcer models, I'm actually pleased to see the legs/torso as one piece. The way the current ones are designed, they wind up having a pretty unsightly gap.
The new models correct the wonky sculpting – and how! – so such gaps wouldn't exist.

I thought Mantic was trying to move forward? Shouldn't they be evaluating these things on their own merits rather than tradition?
