Those new KoW figures look nice.

Troll's proportions seem good to.

Will be keeping my eyes peeled for those Molochs.

EDIT- what's a plague mutation pack consist of? Spill the beans! Or better yet, give us photographic evidence!

I'm betting the Plague Mutation Pack is just a Deadzone card set. But if they did add in a sprue of various mutated limbs / heads / etc. for the Plague, it could go a long way towards making the 3rd gens more interesting.

Well, here's an Imgur upload for now...

The aforementioned Deadzone *AND* Dreadball Brokkrs.

And, finally for now.

This is what I've got waiting for me to assemble. - The Hawk Wargames guys were there too, so I ended up buying Dropzone Commander too...

Will get picks up of models, close ups and more tomorrow. We were blown away. It was quite funny watching other backers literally carry massive cartons filled with Deadzone Goodness. The cartons (Master cartons) were huge.

The deadzone mech pics were already shown in the latest Kickstarter update, I think?

There were some shots of the Mars Attacks civilians, they're looking rather fun!

Did I mention that I don't like Space Dwarfs?

Regardless, the Brokkrs are looking good. May have to revise my opinion on the FF.

Thanks for the photos, guys!

What's that mess of a figure behind the Brokkrs in that picture?

Its like a grey, flashy, ugly mess. Miscast maybe? Or something new and unheard of?

Yep It's chief Radgrad the concept even has the claw.

I honestly have no idea, I sort of went 'ooh brokkrs, photo, what's in the next bit."

Zooming in on my photo though, it looks unfinished. It almost seems like the top half of an Enforcer inside a power loader.

Hey - Radgrad doesn't have chickenwing syndrome like the other Ripper suits! His arm's at his side in a natural pose, where it belongs. Progress.

The convicts look like they will fit perfectly into my Dreadball-as-superheroes character scheme. I might have to use X-men or X-Force color schemes.

The Molochs look really terrible. The tiny feet (no legs) don't work for them. How fast could they actually waddle after a victim?

in the flesh the Waddle demons look awesome imho, their certainly a unique style similar to the trolls, they are also really huge bigger than a gw ogre. I really want a huge army of them.

I'm viewing on a phone, so how closely do the molochs translate to the image from the Basilean Legacy? If similar...I want tons.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Their very similar from what I recall of the artwork. I was really taken with them.

Also forgot to mention the Plague squirrel! It was rejected from the swarm for bing to silly but Remy was very keen to show it off! I so hope someone got a picture.

Hmmm, Dreadball convicts, I think there are some fans of "The Longest Yard" in Mantic.

The sockets are quite shallow compared to the ball, so they basically act as a guide for where to put the feelers, but structurally they do very little. It would IMO be a brave player not to pin them and hope the model stays together. I find that description a little optimistic.

Zzzaapp or Roket thick superglue would no doubt get the job done, have glued far more imposing looking miniatures than that with less.

Really nice to see some of those updates and photos from the Mantic Open Day though guys, thanks a lot for posting them

My own info dump from the Open Day.

- Zombie sprue has finished tooling and test sprues are incoming (they are hoping to have them tomorrow).

- Mantic has a strict "if we don't like it we're not paying you" contract with their manufacturer now which is apparently doing wonders for tooling quality. Warpath KS has been deliberately delayed for a long time because they're just plain not touching it unless they can go almost entirely hard plastic with it and have a properly established, not-experimental, confident production process for detailed organics up and running.

- You are not going to want or need to use glue on any of your deadzone terrain, snap fit means snap fit and its about three times harder to take the things apart than it is to put them together.

- 4 Kickstarters next year.. Dreadball Extreme, Kings of War, DKH 4, Warpath, possibly in that order. They expect DB Extreme and KoW to be small, and DKH 4 and Warpath to be insanely massive in terms of total funding given what they have planned for the last two. Possibility of much shorter-length kickstarters in future, they know they have a mature KS audience at this point that doesn't want things to drag out and likes to keep it simple. Probably no faction swapouts in future kickstarters, Mars Attacks credit system wasn't popular (I liked it, though).

- KoW KS will be for Abyssals, then try to fund Nature and terrain. Alessio rewriting Abyssal list.

- They want KoW 2.0 to have entirely shipped before Warpath KS launches to give some idea of timescales... a lot of stuff is already sculpted for KoW 2.0, the infantry is all digitally sculpted hard plastic, and Slyvain is doing the restics which will be the large infantry and other minis.

- There is going to be a new, fifth battlezone coming out with the retail release. It'll have the long wall and other stuff on it.

- There will be some fantasy terrain in the KoW Kickstarter. I tried to get some hints out of Ronnie but he didn't let much slip, just talked about using the same modular system as the deadzone terrain, possibility of fantasy buildings/ castle.

- Lots of Brokkrs! My favourite part of the day was seeing these. For both deadzone and dreadball, they're much closer to the dreadball sculpts in style than the warpath ones, proportions are really good. I thought they were Kev white sculpts due to the clean sculpting style, but they're by Steve Saunders (think he did the Rebs as well? Damn good sculpts).

They had a 3d print of the mining laser too, looked great. Anyone who backed for forgefathers in DZ is going to be very happy,it looks like

- Molochs are actually rather nice, I am pleasantly surprised Slyvain toned down the concept art a bit in terms of proportions, the hands are not giant, they're scaled nicely and while the short legs and long arms are there it doesn't feel as disjointed on the sculpts like it does on the trolls. It seems to work a bit better. 6 head options, and tons of arm options for the moloch units, as well as full command. Same amount of bitz as the ogres.

Ronnie was talking about 'Mantic Presents...' in my seminar (the first of the day). Basically, Mantic are going to be providing logistic support to new companies with new products going forward and by putting their name on it are willing to help out if something goes horribly wrong in a new kickstarter that these new companies try.

That and inviting Hawk Wargames, Mongoose and Warlord games along to their Open Day really does give the true sense that the Mantic folks are trying to grow The Hobby, as opposed to The HHHobby.

As a slight tangent during the chat, Jake Thornton let slip that he's personally making his own wee board game to sell soon. Based on Greek myth, you take control of one of several of the ancient heroes and go off to do quests, like slay the minotaur.

Ex-cel-lent, here's hoping they're finally getting the organic plastics right.

Good to hear! This bodes well for the fututre plastics. Either get something good, or still have the money to pay someone else to do it good... or refund, either way.
- You are not going to want or need to use glue on any of your deadzone terrain, snap fit means snap fit and its about three times harder to take the things apart than it is to put them together.

There have been reports of the connectors not working well. Not sure if its bad sprues or people just not knowing they need to snap them in yet though.
- 4 Kickstarters next year.. Dreadball Extreme, Kings of War, DKH 4, Warpath.

I'm in, I'm interested, I'm interested, I'm in.

I guess we all knew that was going to be the case...

Is the long torso/stubby legs thing going to continue indefinitely for Mantic?

Do the Molochs all suffer from this malady?
