Looks like I might be getting my box today.

If I only get one Sorak, the aerial camera will zoom out on my screaming face as "HEWIIIIIIT!! Hewiiiiiit!! hewiiiiit!" echoes across the frozen Vermont hills.

I'll keep an ear out though I'm several states over I think that's been a common problem, though who knows maybe they fixed it.

The short story in the mantic blog update today was cool. "As you were." just like i would expect an enforced to be.

Mine hasn't changed at all. No worries though, as I'm barely home at the moment. Hey James, should I contact Mantic to change shipping to my work address, or should I call FedEx after it starts moving? I've changed addresses on Tim and Stew so often, I feel bad about doing it to you guys instead of FedEx. Of course, it's set that I need a signature, and I can't get that at home.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

The traditional way of contacting me is by email (or hey, y'know, LinkedIn, or whatever), but this also works!

Thanks! Glad you liked it.

I'd recommend contacting FedEx - we're not going to answering emails now until Monday. (Most of us have gone home. The sensible ones.)

That looks awesome! Get more pics up as you progress along. One of our Pathfinders has put together a Deadzone wiki page with a section for terrain setups and projects - we're going to get it hosted on the Mantic server (so he hasn't got to deal with ads and things), when it's done I'll get a link here so we can start collecting together all the awesome in one place.

That looks pretty awesome I still want to have a go at the one where you use a digital photo frame inside the buildling for switching pictures.

My box arrived this morning! Hooray!

But then I had to go into work! Boooooo!

But my job was cool enough to let me stay at home to get a delivery of toy soldiers without being fussy about it! Hooray!

And the final weight was actually 42.4lb according to FedEx. For those of you who are curious as to exactly what that level of insanity looks like:

Spoiler:

All Squig's fault. All of it.

*resumes waiting until it's time to go inventory the boxes to make sure he didn't get Hewitt-ed*

That would look awesome, if you do try it pics and tutorial please!

Just having a go at my first multistory building, though it is not easy with a 2 and half year old trying to use them for a car garage........

Also, a tip of the hat to Mantic for the super-fast delivery getting from Nottingham to here in 25 hours.

I'm very sure that was not a cheap box to ship, even with shipping contracts and discounts. It's one of those nice things that didn't strictly need to be done (from my perspective) that makes me feel validated as a backer. Hopefully James can convey my appreciation to the appropriate parties for that one.

I think you can find one in the terrain catalog on the corvus belli/infinity sub forum, someone has already done it. But if I ever get around to it, I surely will have a how I did it.

I don't want to live in a world without pew-pews.

However, you are deadly wrong about arrows. They go "thwock-Yyeeeeaaarrrgh!"

Thanks James! I'm glad you said FedEx, like I said I felt bad about constantly changing on you guys from previous KS'ers. FedEx can take my call and they can like it!

*sigh* still no movement on my stuff. Oddly, the second tracking number I received had an estimated ship date of yesterday.

Mine had an estimated date of Tuesday, so I wouldn't worry about it. Once it starts traveling, it'll update accurately.

According to my wife, her and her brother used to go "shoon shoon" when she was forced to play with him.

Guns went "bkoon bkoon."

Lasers went "za za za za."

I found that totally interesting and relevant to the current conversation.

God bless the Japanese and their onomatopoeia for everything in the world.

Got quite a few models missing that was ment to be in this shipment. Will check everthing else and compile a list to email the guys over at mantic. I've got to say though I hope the Deadzone box sets will be more professionally boxed for retail as everything was just chucked in there, was expecting something more akin to the Dreadball box or any other boxed game though it might just of been because they put the KS extras in there, though wouldn't it just be easier to keep it sealed and add the extras on top?

It was nice that the latest e-mail said what all should be in the box.

I will accept that interpretation, even if I find the lack of death screams unpalatable.

Guns went "bkoon bkoon."

Only if they are large caliber pistols. Or maybe revolvers loaded with laser-bullets fired in a narrow valley, maybe. (So, useful for Enforcers.)

Lasers went "za za za za."

Again, where are the blood-curdling shrieks of sudden mortality? I'm not sure I want to play Deadzone if we're going to leave out such a crucial component of the hobby.

It's relevant to every conversation.

God bless the Japanese and their onomatopoeia for everything in the world.

I'm so old that my brother and I had to read DragonBall manga in the original Japanese*, and we used to laugh and laugh at their onomatopoeia. It took us a while to figure out why all the sound effects ended with "tsu". (No internet back then.)

* Surprisingly easy considering how Japanese-illiterate we were. Almost every bit of dialogue involved words like "power" and "fight", so we only really needed to know about 20-30 kanji to follow what was happening. Then Trunks showed up and we had to up our game by another dozen characters or so. Oh, you man made men, you.

I've not made much headway on the unboxing phase, but I did notice right off that one of my boxes is missing most of their Plague and Enforcer allotments. It looks like the part that should be part of the retail game didn't get packed, so all I have is a handful of extra basic troopers in that one. So, there will be a lengthy verification process it appears, but meh, it's something that'd have to be done sooner or later regardless.

What I do have looks very nice though, and it should be a great time playing with all the terrain (which I will need to get a large storage bin to hold it all).

Anyway, a lot of intake to process before I hit that link to report issues.

My box has shipped! Should show up next week (I have my doubts about it showing up by Monday though, despite what FedEx say). Any canucks received their's yet? Should I be expecting crazy duty charges on this?

I work with fedex everyday at my job and asked the regional rep when he was in about the average speed for fedex priority international, he said at most it could take a week if customs has a hissyfit, at best 48 hours.

Runnin up on ya.

When's deadzone supposed to hit retailers?

Six mistakes mankind keeps making century after century: Believing that personal gain is made by crushing others; Worrying about things that cannot be changed or corrected; Insisting that a thing is impossible because we cannot accomplish it; Refusing to set aside trivial preferences; Neglecting development and refinement of the mind; Attempting to compel others to believe and live as we do
