Well, more like after the "baby-baby" goes to bed, and after "my Valentine" also goes to bed. She turns in early, but I'm a night owl, so I usually work on my "toys" after she goes to bed. Better to avoid "wife aggro"** that way
-C6
**Though to be fair, I get almost zero wife aggro over the plastic crack habit. It helps that lately I've been ebay-ing the stuff that I'm not using, and instead of rolling the cash back into more stuff I will use, I've been putting it in to the normal bank account for rent and food and so forth.
Dude, I wish I could have a little bit of an off schedule like that, sometimes. Well, in a sense, I do, she's still minding the store right now. But I turn in before she does, and when I wake up at 6:00 AM she's already up. If she'd have the hairdo and breakfast ready, I'd swear I found a lost Stepford Wife.

I still have not built out a complete Leviathan... sigh….On what I have built I have a few critical notes to self of some of the items. Nothing earth shattering just annoying to me and perhaps you. I debated on saying anything because I did not want to highlight something that most may not notice and kill your buzz but I do want you to know that I am aware of these issues and working on fixing some for future runs and improving the process behind the scenes.
1) Shadokesh and Handler: I should have put holes in the base and tabs on the feet. Having two minis connected by a chain, all of which have no set relation on the base was irritating to assemble. I did get them together with a bit of patience but it was not as enjoyable as it should have been. I will not be doing that again, even if I have to sacrifice placement or pose options. To a much lesser extent the Support Weapons may have benefited from this, but I am leaning to not wanting to change that aspect for those kits.
2) Mechanical mule: Three leg joints is one too many This is all me, my design and underestimation of just how small these parts are… I wish I would have made some of those legs fixed pose to aid in easy assembly. The best way to tackle them is to build all the legs out with poses that are as similar as possible. You can use the box art to eye up the angle for each joint. Once all are built, then glue them to the body, with the unit sitting on its back (let the glue set for a minute and then turn it over and tweak at the ball joint to get it even on the table.
3) Some odd parts: There are two parts on the Vulkan sprue that I have no idea what they are for they are rectangular one is a rounded bubble the other looks like a cap to that part… strange, very strange. The other odd part is a thin semicircle on the capacitor coolers sprue; It was not needed, I shaved down the tabs on the tubing and glued them directly together and test fitted to the back of the Leviathan and it worked with no issues, everything lined up as it should… another strange item
4) The cable that runs to the field computer on the AA gun: Looks to be a bit short, about 2mm. I am working with them to figure out why and fix this before the next run. You have a few options, bend the cable so it hits the bottom of the gun body, add a small extender or leave it off. I also noted that the magazines that mount to the side of the AA Gun are tabs, both on the gun and on the magazine. It would have been better if the gun had a slot and not a tab. This was obviously an oversight when they determined the direction of pull for the magazine.
5) Inserts for kits: We had some of the inserts not make it into the kits. This will need to be dealt with ASAP. I have had some of these inserts up on my blog but I need to make a handy archive area for easy viewing. Items such as the Left hand Vulkan and Capacitor coolers did not have inserts made; this will need to be dealt with.
6) Shipping to the Pacific Rim: We all know that was an epic fail, one that I do not intend to repeat.

Just got this e-mail from WFG today.
Dave,
We apologize, we have identified a shipping error that involves your order. There was a mix up, the package currently on its way to you contains another customers packing list and items. Fortunately all the items in the box are also items you had requested as well.
The simplest way to resolve the issue will be to have you keep what has been sent. We will send right away a second package with the rest of your items and correct packinglist. Please throw away the packing list containing our other customers information when you receive the first box.
Other than throwing away the packing list in the first box you receive no additional action will be required on your part. There is no need to contact the other customer as we will be reshipping their items to them. You will receive a second shipping notice email when the remainder of your items are sent.
We apologize again for the mix up and thank you for your purchase.
Wargames Factory
Now I'm curious to see what I'm actually getting in this first shipment.
Oh, and to whoever is the owner of the models I was accidentally shipped: I'll give them a good home.

This is exactly the same technique I use, except that I get up at the same time they do. I haven't had an eXacto accident in [1] days.
Is the excalibur blade going to be part of the kit or sold separately? I really want one to use to convert my command ship.
Still no word on bases? How about Proxie models?

Those are very nice, and I may order some next time I go for bases (hello Bones Chronoscope!), but I am looking for DFG bases to use with some WGF Germans, so fill out my Eisenkern ship crew. Currently, all DFG bases are parts of sprues that contain stormtroopers and such, meaning there are no unclaimed bases to use with other minis.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you... If memory serves they put all the bases on sprues with other items. I would need to pay for a new sprue set just for bases. I am not saying I wont, I just do not have them as a seperate item right now. WGF does sometimes sell individual sprues. But I have not discussed with them if this is something I want to do for my line. If I do make bases, with the same format I will hollow out the bottom (only room for about .7mm but it may help just a little on uneven tables or terrain. Yep there are 30mm round slot bases, they will be a bit taller but you may want that? You would just need to fill the slot. The only other issue I can think of is that there is one leg set that goes right to the edge of the lip. Tis leg set may hang very slightly over the rounded section of the base as the bases I use have a slightly larger inner round area.

I don't mean to imply you should pay for that sprue. I was kind of hoping that WGF might see the advantages to creating a small base sprue for their products to become compatible with yours (the nicest they sell). Please don't lose any of your money on my suggestion. I'll just buy some proxies for the bases.

Check out Secret Weapons bases. they have a 30mm round lipped base with no slot. They are resin though, so a bit more expensive.
Or Armskeeper 30mm non lipped bases. http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=70799#.URsIUGdFL5M
I'll be basing my stuff up on 30mm lipped bases anyway to match my Weird War 2 German stuff.

KalashnikovMarine, is that abox with 3 Levi's? Damn, that is quite big. Seeing that picture just squashed the last remaining bit of hope of it sneaking through customs without atteacting to much unwanted attention. Now I'm kind of hoping the bill won't be to big when the package hits my doorsteps. That said, I'm so stoked they have finally started moving towards here, slowly but surely they are making their way over here, Hope it's going to be arriving next 2 weeks with a bit of luck.
Edit: Any dutchies on here with any experience when it comes to customs with these things? SO far everything I've ordered from outside of the Eu have been below the Custom's radar.

Mark,
Don't have my stuff yet (NOT a complaint) but it seems to me that the Mule legs should be relatively easy to get to work with the aid of some Blu-tac. (Other products are available.) Simply support the Mule body off the table, either with Blu-tac to allow some uneven-ness as it walks or something to kep it the desired dustance above the table and flat. Then hold the leg pieces in place with some more Blu-tac on the outside of the bends and glue the insides. Keep the Mule supported until the glue has dried, then add Blu-tac to the inside of the bends and glue the outsides.
That is how I plan on doing mine, anyway, but I'll be using "Plastic Weld" solvent adhesive applied with a brush I use specifically for that task as it allows me to accurately govern the amount of glue and where it's placed.
Can't wait to get my hands on my shipment, should be a week or so away so at least I stand a chance of seeing some built and painted before I get to start on mine!
Thanks for the Links, Krinsath. That's been a great help, just what I was looking for. Still hoping to see some painted examples, or at least WIP shots here before I start mine in anger though.

At this point I doubt it... Unfortunately I do not have an exact date. I keep asking where we are but I am not getting any specifics. I can only judge a project by what I have been shown or what items have been requested. For me to know that we were on scheduled for stage 2 I would have had to been shown the sprue layouts near the end of last month and had the box dimensions and a request for box art the first week of this month. I have received neither...
Will we remain three months behind? I don't think so, but I have no idea at this point how much time made up from the initial slip.
Thats is as much as I know at this point... not a great answer, but an honest one.

Yeah, it's going to be a drag for some people, but just stay the course and make sure you're putting out good product. While I don't have mine yet (I should get mine today), from the looks of it you have put out a superior product at a very reasonable price. While I "can't wait", I can wait, if you get my drift. Unfortunately for you, some people will have fits, but by all appearance it's going to be worth the wait.

So a brief review of the Ada model from DFG side by side with a Necron Lord. I assembled them together and recorded my thoughts. Necron Lord Kit type: Monopose Infantry model ( HQ/Hero) Material: Resin (aka Finecast), model felt extremely flimsy, very worried to work with Complexity: Minimal, three parts Flash/Mold lines: Heavy mold lines, ridiculous amounts of flash. Most of assembly time is stripping the flash very very carefully. Conversion potential: Low, without excessive work/delicacy, did manage a small weapons conversion but it felt very touch and go. Over all impression of quality: Poor Ada: Little lady with a big gun Kit type: Monopose Infantry model ( HQ/Hero) Material: Injection molded plastic, nice and sturdy feel to materials Complexity: Some very small pieces, assemble and de sprue with caution or you will lose your mind (oh groin armor where are't thou?) it also took me a minute to figure out where the rifle butt stock went... Flash/Mold lines: No flash, minimal mold lines Conversion potential: High, model feels solid and has incredible detail Over all impression of quality: High and in honor of Hauptmann Ada finding her place on my "To Paint" shelf. Have the fluff I wrote up for her and the black widows. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1OtpoxUirO6EC8s_y_ZXz0GsS6bVE6eBD23128C-nYrE/edit

Any of the heavies is fine, too... Your choice!
