I'd be REALLY happy with that!

Then it is all about balancing out the factions via points and we're dancin'!

I would agree with having the Leviathans be the star of the show on the tabletop. Keep it simple, stupid!

I can't imagine the size of the tables and the terrain on said table, though.

Yep make it all leviathans with maybe a couple squads for backup here and there... rather than the "big army" kind of feel like 40k.

The Mantic battlezones would work great for big terrain too. You can build it up as tall or wide as you want, and it's relatively cheap especially if you get the big box set.

A standard 4'x6' table would be fine. You'd just play the board lenghtwise 4'wide, defending to your left and attacking to your right. Deploy in an 18" DZ for a 3' no-man's land.

This, the game gives you the option to play with 3 Marauder Suits against 100 Bugs or to take a mass of Troopers.
The MI has 6 different army lists (Light Armoured Platoon, Powersuit Platoon, Exosuit Platoon, Marauder Platoon, Recon Platoon, Pathfinder Platoon) and SSTpK adds the Alliance of Independet Colonies which is more like a 40k Guard
There are also more alien races in SSTpK like the reworked Skinnies and Morphs. (there is also an exmperimental Space Knight list)

In my opinion this is one of the best SciFi games out there at the moment (although I don't like that it uses D6 and D10)

It would be no problem to adept the ruleset to be used for Iron Core (I can get into contact with the writer of SSTpK if Mark is interested in it)

Okay, so...

Way back, the KS ended, and I finalized my pledge through the manager. All was well, I spent a butt-load of money. Then, two things happened. Mark and WGF opted to let latecomers use the manager to still participate, and I had some more money come available. So, I made a separate account with my (at the time) work email, and ordered a bunch more. That account is the wave 3 stuff that just came today. So, today I got:

2 x mini Nova Cannon
2 x mini LH Vulkans
2 x each, left and right mauler claws
1 x Command Squad
1 x Valkir Assault troops
1 x Valkir support troops
1 x panzerjaeger

Still to come,
4 x mini Mortis
Loads of Valkir
Another squad or two of command
More mini arms
More ladies
A couple of APCs
Maybe some other bits and bobs.

Added: I just got shipping notice on the other stuff.

Well since everyone (a lot of people) were mentioning how they no longer have a need for these due to giving up on 40k, I thought I'd cross post the little tidbit that Draigo supposedly is making an appearance in warhammer fantasy 9th edition. So you may be able to field these guys in a fantasy skirmish game .

I take it these minis (specifically the heavy troopers) haven't gone to retail yet?

Also does anybody have a blog where they've worked with the stuff they've received?

Ooooh. The USPS tracker says that it took all of 9 minutes for my package to be received in [Canada] and then be cleared through customs. That is a big load of Ballistic Skill.

I also like how USPS considers the package as well as handed over since, you know, it's in [Canada].

Would you have preferred they shipped from the US via UPS? Or DHL?

Since they're shipping at work, and our UPS dude is super cool, I'd have been fine. I haven't seen a DHL truck in a while... worrisome. Although anything to keep my FLMC employed is a good thing in my book.

And I'll get slammed with customs on such a box, regardless. UPS, Puro, Canada Post, they all charge the same fees. Down to the nickel. (We don't have cents anymore)

Mark, on the Eisenkern Valkir Assault Trooper box, and on the instruction sheet, it says the kit comes with 5 assault pistols and 5 grenade launchers. There are only 4 of each on the sprue. Just wanted to let you know.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Hopefully I will be able to give the sprues a try tonight or tomorrow and share my thoughts. Everything looks very nice so far, but the Assault and Heavy Weapons boxes do not have as many options or poses as the Stormtroopers, not even as many as I was expecting. The extra heads, grenades, tabards and armor plates make up for that a bit by being Really Useful. The boxes are super slim, too. I really wonder what the retail price will be.

Mine is at Customs, so I expect a card in the next couple of days saying that I owe money. At least I got paid today.

How do you guys find out the weight of your parcels? I am curious to know what my 3 APCs and single squad of widows will weigh.

For me it's right on the UPS tracking page; not sure what shipper they used for the UK though and if they do the same, but the odds would seem good it's somewhere on that page.

Oh well. Must be for domestic only, my USPS tracking page does not give one.

Thanks anyway. I'll just have to weigh it when it gets to me, but I somehow doubt it'll be breaking any records around here.

And besides, you can use kilos when you weight yours, instead of pounds.

Or stones.

Pretty plastic APC. Excited to build it when I get free time from class.

Free time from class? I plan on getting an unfortunate spell of the "Blue 'Flu" when I get mine!

Unfortunately, I would lose way to many points by missing class. Mostly because missing one lecture will put you that far behind everything.

I haven't looked closely at it, but one of the side pieces is longer than a rhino or chimera. Probably closer to the size of a land raider
