It seems well over powered to me that an ordinance weapon can snap fire at you before your assault especially since theyve taken away minimum distance on basalisks. The overwatch section doesnt say anything about these vehicles. So does anyone know whats up?

Check overwatch about vehicles.
Also read the rules on snap shots.
I don't have my brb to hand but the answer is clearly in there. Not being rude but if you look for it yourself you'll remember better.

It's not the size of the blade, it's how you use it.

Only walkers can overwatch. Blasts can never be snapfired.

The minimum distance still has an effect by making the weaponmore innaccurate, but yeah, you can still fire it (just not on overwatch)

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

That's your mistake right there. Never trust GW guys (or other game store guys for that matter) unless they can provide you the text to back it up. All too often they're wrong, either because they don't know and guess or because they have several rules editions and codex revisions crammed into the same head they use every day.

Ordnance (pg 51) has no minimum range, Barrage (pg34) might or might not have depending on the weapon. Earthshaker Cannons seem to have a minimum range in the IG Codex.

Crew cannot. Embarked passengers can Overwatch though.

I believe it is in the BRB under barrage/Blast rule. something along the lines of "If fired directly (in line of sight) said weapons minimum range no longer applies"

Walkers with Ordnance (if there are any) may overwatch with the Ordnance weapon, provided that the weapon is not also Blast.

Defilers have a battlecannon, don't they? However its still blast, so no overwatch from that particular weapon. Unless you can get a Vanquisher Defiler...

You remembered the place but not what it says. Barrage weapons may use Indirect Fire to shoot at a target inside minimum range, which means it'll scatter horribly.
