Tinker's Constructs: Mechworks- it's things like the Drawbridge block and a couple other items that used to be included straight in the Tinkers Constructs mod but were separated out for people who didn't want all that.
GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

No, it's the power system from MFFS (Modular Forcefield System - Calclavia's version). Xycraft isn't available for Minecraft 1.5 (it's supposedly making a return for 1.6 at some point).
Note that Mystcraft and PortalGun are not listed. I don't know about PortalGun, but Mystcraft might be left out due to the increased memory requirements of the new packs, along with other mods also adding their own dimensions like the Promised Land and the Deep Dark. Given that the Cave and Mega build ages were barely used, this isn't really the end of the world. The mining age would be missed, but perhaps we could set a rule to only quarry oceans or the Deep Dark (higher ore rates)?
Alternatively, the Direwolf20 pack is still an option.
I don't see minefactory reloaded, kind of ticked at that, was planning a pumpkin power plant.

The new launcher came out the other week, along with the first new 1.6 pack - Horizons. There's been minor updates to the launcher since, to fix bugs they've found.
There's been no more new written news of the FTB:Monster pack (that I've seen). However, Slowpoke has been streaming "testing" of the Monster pack and may have revealed more info in his streams, but I've not had time to sit and watch a livestream for hours hoping he may or may not mention any news. Last time I tuned into one of his streams, his "testing" of the pack involved him spawning two Enderdragons into the overworld and just running around with no armor or weapons repeatedly being killed by them.
If anyone else has links to any new info that I've missed, feel free to post it, but at the moment I'm just patiently waiting for official announcements. :-P

I believe I heard on one of his streams this week that "monster " wast going into public Netanyahu hopefully this weekend

Some slight adjustments and I'm now ready to fight the Wither:
I had to add a second Coercion Deriver to the MFFS power network to keep up with the demand from the speed boosts I'd added to the other components. Then I thought why have two, when I can have three? More lasers always looks cooler.
So, all said and done, I have an MFFS containment field, Modular Powersuit with all Energy Shields maxed out, Six extra Tinkers Construct hearts, Potions of Instant Healing II and Potions of Regeneration (2:00). That's all just a bit overkill really, it should be a walk in the park...
....Right?
However, right now my internet is a tad flaky, so I might wait another half hour or so.
also works in vanilla, and possibly means a lot of wasted effort . But Minecraft isn't supposed to be about the easy way.

Oh yeah. The same thing is possible with the MFFS.
I've tested in a creative world and if I just stand outside the MFFS and wait, the Wither eventually tries to do that thing where it eats blocks to get through them, but the MFFS field reforms around it and kills it instantly. Including dropping the star.
But I'd still like to take it on with a sword rather than suffocating/electrocuting it. (Even if I'm so decked out it's just as cheap)
