It's looking less and less likely that we'd be able to transition without a world reset - but I did say this was an almost certainty. When the final release version is available, I will see what's possible and try to see if the world can be upgraded without a reset - I won't just dismiss it, but there's several major changes to world gen that will make it considerably difficult.

At the very least, I'll be doing the Enderchest & Thaumcraft research transfer system that I did on the Direwolf20 temporary server we had before Ultimate. (Anything in private ender chests gets copied across - right-clicking on the lock of an Ender Chest with a diamond makes it private.)


Being able to bring stuff to the new server with us would be awesome, lets you get into building mode straight off.

Can you give us an enderchest for those of us that aren't very hi-tech right now, when you decide it's time to change up?

Yeah I was looking at how much has changed since we started the server and strongly doubted that we'd be able to keep the same world. Research transfer would be really useful and that item shifting system will make everything go smoother so thank you for doing those again Dark.

It's just a pity my volcano can't come with us.

I'd similarly like that, I don't have the resources for an ender chest yet.

Also Dark, since it's private enderchests, that means we can have more than one chestful by having multiple private colors?

Yeap. There's also the ability to put bags in Enderchests, and in some cases (depending on the mod), bags in bags in Enderchests, etc.

Does anyone know of a way to create a redstone circuit which will be on for, say, 2 seconds, then off for 10 seconds in a loop, before turning on again? I could do with this redstone and I can't work it out.

You could use a computercraft block with something like this:


That loop will output the signal to the left side (your left side if you look at the computer's screen). If you add the script to the startup "program" on the computercraft block with shell.run("xyz") the loop will continue after a reboot of the minecraft server.

That would be pretty cool. It does work as is though.

To start the script, e.g. myLoop, after every reboot (of the server or the computercraft block with ctrl-r) create the file startup and add the line


To control the loop from outside (pulsing signal only if the redstone input from the right is on) you could try:


The pullEvent method waits until a redstone event happens and then starts the inner loop that stops once the input from the right is off. The inner loop will run once including sleeping 12 seconds even if you switch the input during that time. To cancel in between the inner loop can be canceled with something like after checking the input and perhaps another os.pullEvent using both the timer and redstone event.

I get kicked occasionally if I "fly" using my railgun for too long. Though Powersuit jetpack works without issue.


Also, for a timer you can just use the timer bit from Project Red. just like the old RP2 circuit pieces.

Use a couple of... what would you need... Nor gates?

Lesee... On for two, off for 10? Have a constant signal, that gets cut off (sticky piston with block of redstone would work easily, though you could probably use something else as well) when two timers 'intersect'- (or inverted, of course). Or, hmm..

Two second timer with a toggle switch connected to the output. And a ten second timer with a toggle...maybe..


Or, there's also a way to use basic repeaters to lengthen pulses, so you could possibly use just a really long redstone circuit.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

I have an enderman spawner that kills them with quicksand here:

It runs off mob essence, but currently doesn't have any automation other than power. So what you can do is take an MFR syringe and a bucket, and hold right click to trade your own XP levels for mob essence and right click the spawner with the mob essence bucket to have it spawn Endermen.

I've recently installed a vacuum hopper there, so you might want to disable it (or break it) if you are going to use it, otherwise the pearls will get sucked into the logistics pipes network. If they do, you can probably find them in the iron chest nearest the open side of the building.

I find using magic crops to grow ender pearls is a good way to go if you can automate it. Pretty sure at least a few others are going that route.
