Those Infinity aliens have come up really well. I like the purple-green mottled flash you've given them. Quite effective.

They look great, and I love the little battle scenes you've photgraphed them in.

Thanks guys

Got my DZ wave 2 box. Seems heavy enough. But I dunno how they fit everything into it that they're supposed to. I will check soon.

Got out of work a couple of hours late today though so photos may be delayed.

So far I'm just missing the cards for my space dwarfs (kind of important, but only if you're actually going to play) and a couple of sprues of zombies. I'll have to open all of the baggies and see if anything else is missing but so far it's not too bad. A couple of things I can stand to wait for seems to be all of the damage.

I got a few things I had been on the fence about but I'm pretty glad to have now.

I'll get some pictures soon, no good light by the time I had everything inspected.

Not really an issue since you have the cards digitally.

Well using the digital cards would not be nearly as fun for playing. If I could get regular games in and were so inclined as to slap the forge fathers together and stick them on bases to play ASAP, then it would be a pretty annoying issue. For me though, not a big deal like you say.

Definitely inventory the pieces in each bag. In my wave 1 I was missing half a mawbeast and I've seen others with similar missing components that renders certain models unusable due to the complete lack of options. It's time consuming but you'll kick yourself if you don't do it, assemble them later and realize Mantic ate your captains lightning claws. At least Mantic can combine missing items into wave 3 shipping to save them a little cash and still get the stuff out to us in a reasonable time frame.

You're not referring to missing one of THESE are you? ; p

They likely won't. Usually address missing ks fulfilment parts like they would any missing parts and send them out right away. Or at least it seems that way.

I realized a month or two late that they messed up my marauders a bit. I had the right number of dudes but the bags were wrong, had too many dancing snipers and only one aiming sniper, and maybe one of the two guns commandos.

Thanks, means a lot having seen your sexy nomads on the community showcase thread

Battle systems is here! Holy crap so much card! I simply must punch some out and assemble... but I don't wanna mess it up

I've also been having nagging chaotic urges... Just want to chop up my tyranids, sedition wars, and anything gribbly I can find and go to town on my space marines. No theme, just wonky nasty angry brutal chaos stuff Got a lot else to do though so we'll see!

Deadzone and Battle Systems within a day of each other! Are you drowned under all those boxes?

Looking forward to seeing what you do with both, that Battle Systems stuff does look like some of the best card terrain on the market. I might just have to grab some for various reasons down the line, it depends on how it prices against Battlezones at retail.

Yeah lol theres a lot. The battle systems is actually pretty compact, until I start assembling it

Gonna try to take some pictures of everything but its tough with hurricane toddlerington bouncing off the walls

Yeah battle systems stores very compactly in component form... not so much assembled hey ; p Glad you finally got it. I hereby reserve the right to steal any chaosification you create for my own chaos.

Heh, please do. However be forewarned that these will be absurdly mutated and modified. If I do it, I'm not gonna fret over viability and cross compatibility. Not going to include them in NEMESIS, I may do a legit chaos marine followed by a nasty monstrosity half formed of tyranid parts and expect them to be squad mates

So...

First impression of battle systems.

Its probably as sturdy as card gets. But its still card. I think I'll have to pen the lot and glue *any* edges that I'm going to use more than once. I didn't think I was a rough handler but I'll mess this stuff up if I'm not particularly careful.

I think I'm going to quite glad to have my stronghold+similar thickness of add ons... I'm just kinda glad I held back on the fantasy set. I think I can cobble something similar to the fantasy set myself that's 'good enough' should I ever need it. And card is more of a liability for spills and toddler-rampage.

Not in the best mood today, I'll probably warm up to this a bit more as I go, a d its certainly neat, but not quite as plug and play as I was hoping. Could be my lack of experience with the material too.

On that very point of the chaos marines, have you seen these?:

I don't think you'll have a lot to worry about. Also, what's Nemesis?

Yep you definitely need to glue the edges, but I think if you do so it will serve you for many years of regular use. Having tried glued and not-glued, the difference in durability is very obvious. I'm still waiting on my markers and a good storage box but I intend to glue every edge of every piece... that may go by the wayside over 4 battlezones though ; p

FW is coming out with some beautiful (hideous?) SMs. I really like some of the flavoured ones like that but only have a couple sets myself... Iron Hands and Emperors Children I think.

@Azazelx geeawd those are awesome. Yeah that, just like that. But entirely different. But thematically just like that. Maybe even some snake-bottoms or spider legs going on.

I'm sure I'll hit a good groove with this stuff. And the scatter will be useful instantly. Starting to think I should separate the parts I've already built and pack it up till I'm ready to marker and glue it all though.

Almost went right away and made myself a chaos marine. But... too many bits scattered too far. Maybe when I've got my hobby area better organized, sometime this winter would be ideal.

I got 2x 36 tray bitz holders that do wonders for organising them and allowing quick access to bitz for kitbashing. Was thinking of getting another too as these are full of SM, IG, Renegade IG, CSM and bits and pieces that could be used for conversions for them. If I can get my boxes of chinese resin cleaned and sorted into trays it would greatly help my creativity in kitbashing unique (C)SMs.

This older shot shows the (red) trays I use for storing bits, find they work really well. They're all packed now. The blue trays mostly have WIPs and tools that are hard to store so far. Still need to refine my work area substantially, but really love those bitz trays.

I've got a couple of the little pull-out-drawer things but they're full =/ I'm starting to consider going back to a tackle box like those I used to pack models into. They're kind of bad for that, but they make pretty good bits containers. What I'm thinking of has one level, split into I dunno... a bunch of 2x2" ish sections, can see the entirety of it from the top as it's clear. Plus they're stackable and lock shut so you can sort of toss them around a bit. Need to see if I can find some more on the cheap, it suits my current situation better than the drawers...

Envious of your large clear table I could have that much space but I've got to clear it off first and when I've got time to hobby or time to clean... guess which I pick?

Few pictures:

Extras on top of the strong hold box. I got the docking bay (can't remember if that had the little observation deck thing inclusive or if I added that on separately, I know I should have both), and pretty much at least 1x of any of the add-ons that weren't included with strong hold. So an elevator, windowed walls, medicenter... I also got 2x sets of clean walls which should allow me to make what 4" wall sections and 4 per sheet so 8x4"... I guess an 8" square room or something a bit more rectangular.. probably big enough for a nice medicenter or command room. And 4x of the infested walls, which I figure you can spread out to make a much larger complex infested

Curious that the boxes stacked in such a manner are keeping the zombies out. Almost looks like they were stacked from within the room. Perhaps the scientists and soldiers therein tried to barricade themselves in but harbored an infected compatriot, and now the zombies are trapped in a room by measures meant to keep others out...

Definitely puts playable terrain on the table faster than most anything else, and I'm looking forward to dressing the interiors of my battlezone buildings with all of my extra scatter bits. Even in the close-up of the pictures you could almost do without penning, though I'm sure it'll make everything look nicer overall.

Envious of that table? What about it's twin? ; p These are old shots, the space is much more refined now, the second table is no longer taken up by my wall of shame. All the boxes full of unbuilt stuff are still underneath though ; p I get pretty OCD about my workspaces, I can't work well if they're cluttered so part of my hobby time is by necessity maintaining said hobby space : (

Do love seeing that battle systems stuff, both built and even unbuilt. Look great with your clear acrylic based minis on it as expected! I have some deadzone rebels a gnats fart from being finished, I should get on that so I can do the same.

That's a lot of models to just have hanging out. I have to bury them in boxes and containers out of sight or I get all emotional about it.

I think I want to split my battle systems stuff in half and make two space ships. Similar interior space, but different layouts. Or maybe several smaller ships I dunno. Maybe get some 28mm scale fighter ships to go with them. Have boarding actions, ship to ship combat, fighter skirmishes... fun.

I'd like to see your hobby area setup grim if you wouldn't mind. I need a lot of inspiration to refine my own. As I've gotten deeper into it I've encountered "workflow problems" ; p As I'm housebound it's hard for me to visit others in the hobby to see theirs. Don't feel the need to clean it up - "in use" is fine by me ; ) (I say after I just cleaned mine up...)

Feeling a bit better again? You're too nice a bloke to be down in the dumps, though you do have some good reasons. Want to see you churning out high quality gaming goodness again!

Battle systems will make great interior space ships which would make for some great RPG and skirmish scale scenarios.

Yeah getting the pictures back really made the burglary more tollerable. Still pisses me off to no end but w/e. And we're starting to get over being sick (all three of us tend to pass stuff around between a hospital job and daycare).

Honestly having FFT on my phone is more to blame for productivity lapse than anything

I'll take pictures but I have to clean first or you can't even see the work surfaces lol.

Still no finished Shasvastii today, I spent a solid hour or two trimming bits and assembling this monstrosity:

It's a 2x2x2 building with a full and armored catwalk/surround, and armored roof. Will serve the Nexus Psi scenario Bunker Hill, as well as being fully playable elsewhere. The big gate opens easily enough, and the gate could be attached with angled clips to give a partially open or flung wide appearance, giving LoS blocking benefits to a small space in front of it, for when play isn't centered around the structure. Obviously it got shelled from the rear and most of the floors are gone, still fairly serviceable as most of the windows still have standing room for firing out, but it should be fairly playable with reasonable accessibility.

Thank you sir

Yeah that's a very nice busted up DZ tower! Airbrush so much fun and I'm really looking forward to finally getting off my ass and using the anarchy deadzone battlezone stencils to make the job easier on me heheh.

I hear you though, sometimes I'm in a brush mood, sometimes airbrush... sometimes just cbf and zone out cleaning mould lines while watching the daily show ; ) FFT for your productivity... Divinity Original Sin and WoW for mine... curse dem vidya games!

Gah, WoW consumed waaaaaay too much of my life. It was so much fun back in Vanilla...the world PvP was the business.

Then everything became instanced, crossrealms matchmaking, then finally you could even do dungeons w/people from other realms. No sense of community, no MMO...just a gear grind at that point.
