Subject: Buy Maelstrom's Ed...Wait.. no.. I mean Grimdork Hobby Time! Working through Imperial Assault
Yeah, I've always heard good things about the game. It would probably do well at the library game day thing too. Having it for a fantasy setting raises interesting questions... Is it like heroes and wizards surviving or farmers and what not?
I think I'd almost be more interested in the modern setting, unless they made a scifi one

The new Imperials are looking good. I like the variation in uniform colour as well. I'll have to do that with my own figures once I get around to painting them.
I felt that way too, I feel like each time I post in the thread I could take a dakka vacation.
I've felt the same every single time I post in that thread, though I've already said my final piece in the Discussions thread on Friday. I'm not even letting myself read the new posts that have come up since, in case I feel driven to reply. I'll look at the thread again at the end of the week, or perhaps in a week's time when any direct responses to me are too old to reply to. I've had a few short holidays from Dakka in my time here, and for better or worse, I kind of feel like I've painted a target on my back after sharing my thoughts in that thread - especially given my last few posts. I wish them all the best, but I don't like the uncomfortable feeling that the way the campaign has been handled has brought to Dakka, so I'm mostly avoiding reading threads in N&R and DD right now, let alone posting there.
The new Zombicide looks good, and from current experience with the existing product, I'm definitely interested in the new one.
That AT-AT is a pretty good model for coming in a boxed game. A friend has the SW Assault box, and we've all had a look at it, but not played yet. I think it will paint up nicely.
Nice work on the officers. Doing anything to them so they'll look less "samey"?

The officers have slightly different skin tones... But yeah they look a lot alike. I don't have any good matching arms for swapping so I've pretty much left the models alone conversion wise.

Only Mace Windu was Bad ass enough to have the purple light sabre

@shas bah, for all we know Diala Passal is just as cool she was just hiding/exiled. Or something. It's probably not the same shade of badass anyway, slightly off, somewhat less badass.

Looks good so far. I agree that she could use either some wash or a dip with some highlights afterwards. I'm a bit surprised to see the whole Starkiller holding a lightsaber backwards continued elsewhere.

Thanks. I'm expecting the dip to do wonders on the stormtroopers though it will dirty up the white a bit. May have to go back over it on the flattest parts to mitigate... We'll see.

If you don't mind having to do a separate coat of lacquer, the Payne's Grey glaze I use works great over white. Just make sure to thin it down a lot first.
Cool! ^^ I haven't had the time to start painting my models from SW:IA but yours look cool already. the second pic with the jedi exile is clear the lightsaber stands out enough. Is there a reason you followed the 'official' colourscheme except for the saber? ^^
Have you played the game meanwhile? I've read a couple pages back that you haven't the chance to play/study it thoroughly or something?
Still haven't gotten to play. I'm planning on getting it finished this month and taking it along to the library game day near the end of the month. Gonna try to learn how to play first, obviously
I altered the color on the lightsaber because the photos were coming out in such a way as to make the skin and saber look almost the same color. It's not as bad in person but since I'm not painting any glow effect for this light saber I wanted it to be a few more shades different from the skin.
