Interesting From the longstrike page
Master Gunship pilot Shas'la T'au Sha' ng, now better known as Longstrike, has quickly become the Fire caste's most heralded tank ace. Since his first training session, he exhibited an almost innate ability to handle a Hammerhead. Due to his unerring aim, Longstrike was chosen to trial the new XV02 pilot battlesuit.
XV02 Ehh? that is pretty cool if you ask me. Automatically Appended Next Post: Lul i think i found a typo

Humm... 856.50$ CAN
Well... GW might want to push their online sell... but that one make me laught really hard One-Click Army for almost a thousand dollar... Hurry-up, while stock last! I seriously doubt GW is aiming the right public target with this one. I am not saying it's a fail, it only show once again the serious problem of marketing product. Seriously, who even spend a hundred dollar in online store without being anxious just a little about the shipping and defective product... ooO wait GW is safe let's be spontanious and throw them a thousand dollar in a one-click deal.

I like the description for the generic XV8 commander. "Psychic" ion blaster? Think that's a typo, lol.
Kroothawk wrote:Seems the Tau flyers have no landing gear ... like Kamikaze bombers
Well, I don't believe the piranha had landing gear, either. And that's basically all the stupid flyer is, an up-sized piranha.
Personally with my tanks I just cut the legs off and glued the flat part to the tank chassis, so that it looked like they weren't deployed. I didn't like the look of them with the gears deployed all the time and it sounded like a hassle swapping them in/out. A couple of them are a little warped though because this was years ago, before I had the sense to buy a saw to do any serious cutting with.
The LE codex is too expensive, but that goes without saying I guess. It's not bad-looking and I could see myself paying a little extra for it, but literally twice the price is just ridiculous.

It's most likely an option tank, Devilfish or hammerhead. Automatically Appended Next Post: Nafa...honestly I'd wait til you look over the dex and come up with some new army lists. At these prices you don't want to make a mistake purchasing a unit which doesn't perform.

Drunkspleen wrote:Maybe I'm leaping to conclusions a bit here, but the Razorshark Strike Fighter seems pretty useless to me.
compared to the bomber, it shifts the Ion weapons off the drones onto it's tail turret which can't fire forward properly, swaps a networked markerlight for a burst cannon, and then drops the bombing setup and the (Twin-Linked?) Missile pods.
I just fail to see how the Fighter is meant to secure the skies better than the Bomber whose Ion weapons have more practical traversal and are potentially accompanied by additional S7 shots from the missiles at the back, not to mention the ability to use a Markerlight hit to deny a Jink from a Flyer that is expected to Evade, and/or used to fire a seeker missile in addition to the rest of the firepower.
The Strike Fighter seems useful for hunting light ground vehicles and not much else.
edit: Having said all that, I like the flyers a lot more in full 360 than I thought I would, so I'm pretty high on the bomber at this point in time as you might suspect.
Well, the sprue pics make it look like you can swap the tail ion cannon and nose burst cannon with no magnets or mods necessary. I plan to do that less for gaming advantage (the nose turret has a far more restricted arc of fire than the tail) but because I like the idea of the burst cannon pointed backwards as a tail gun.
And given that it is a flier, most targets to the front will be well within the rear turret's arc.
As for why take it over the bomber? Well, so far, all drone mounted weapons are BS2, vs BS3 or 4 mounted on the fighter proper.

Nope...not a single mention of points values. GW's newfound love of "Forging a Narrative" was a big theme, and it was a really interesting, non-standard game with the 'Nids regenerating their troops after they were eliminated.

I love how they didn't even wait for June/July for the price hike. $60 US for the hammerhead/skyray. Wasn't it like $10 less just this morning? Those that want some better hit up the online discounters before they run out of existing stock and have to sell at the new price.

About the Hammerhead Gunship: The kit comes with a selection of weapons including a smart missile system, ion cannon, railgun, networked markerlights, and two gun drones.
So I guess what used to be the Targeting Array is now a Networked Markerlight... Vehicles can get Networked Markerlights now!!!

Only in Australia, I believe. GW seems to think digital Codexes and print Codexes should cost the same and is adjusting prices accordingly. The limited edition Codexes are just going up, but if the reaction from several posters in this very thread is enough to go from, it's working...

Yup. Back in 5th ed they were counted as defense weapons.
I'm actually hoping they'll change the front nose pivot, which usually houses a Burst Cannon on Devilfish, into a networked markerlight.

Well, pre-order confirms no new troop choices.
Hopefully Kroot and Firewarriors get new choices and customizations to make them somewhat upredicatble, or my previous post about "enemies tailoring their attacks on our predictable infantry" will be 100% true.
Hopefully the Ethereals, Darkstrider, and Fireblade alter and improve our troops enough to mix it up a bit...
All I want is to be good with a Tau infantry-focused army. ;_;
