TheEyeOfNight- I swear, this thread is 70% smack talk, 20% RP organization, and 10% butt jokes
TheEyeOfNight- "Ordo Xenos reports that the Necrons have attained democracy, kamikaze tendencies, and nuclear fission. It's all tits up, sir."

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum

You're a genius, Proiteus. That thing looks absolutely incredible. I love the addition of the escape-hatch Ork on the base. It finishes the piece off perfectly. What will you play him as in game terms?
ARMIES ON PARADE (2ND ATTEMPT) Entered armies on Parade again this year with more units and a giant landing pad added to give the board more depth. But despite all the attention and complements that the army received throughout the day I won silver, I'm sure some of you wanna know who won gold well it was this Knight titan army on a city of death board. Some of my mates think the overall winner is average and think GW altered the result to support the products, I dunno.
Well that's in the past, but here are some good photos of it.

You have some kind of silver medal curse with Armies on Parade. I remember you talking about your entry last year.
That said while I adore this army to bits, I think I can see where the Knights might have had the edge. While your army is very eye catching and unique and a heck of a conversation piece, the Knight Army treated the models as part of the display. By moving the Knights horizontally along the display and building the city around it they added a narrative to their piece that probably gave it the edge. Not to say your board was lacking. It was great, and the tellyporta pad was fantastic. But that narrative integration probably edged the Knights out

Yeah, I believe that is the case plus he was a local hobbyist and I wasn't.
DA END OF DA LOG! Well it's been an interesting 3 years doing this project but now with no more space in my large army case and my eagerness to do something else it's time to conclude this army project. I'm now going to move on to my Tau Drone army that you can go to by clicking the link in my current signature, it certainly be the opposite to this army cold colours, small numbered and clean. After that I may return to the Thousand Sons if a new chaos or Tzeentch codex appears.
LIKE DA BOYZ, LET ME KNOW? If you've enjoyed reading this project log and the conversions featured in it, please take the time to visit my Dakka Dakka Grot Rebelz gallery and rate your favourite units? "NOW SUPPORT DA REBELLION AND RATE DA TROOPS!"
Now to start work on those drones.

It has been an absolute blast watching this army through it's incarnations. Your work has inspired me time and again (I just noticed the hips on that mega-grot-bot).
MY ARTICLE ON MY 3 GOLDEN RULES FOR COUNTS AS CONVERSIONS! 2 weeks ago I was asked by Rob Baer from Spikey Bits to write an article on converting count as armies and miniatures. So if I've inspired you to convert your own stuff or you'd like an interesting read and see some of my earilest projects (& failures) click the image below....

That was a really informative and interesting read. I did indeed guess 'Necrons' for your all robot army. It's a shame that such a massive project wasn't more practical for gaming purposes but you can't win em all, I guess.
I haven't played a game with my Orks for donkeys, so I haven't found out if any of my weirder conversions would be problematic...

DOIN A BIT OF DAT SPRING CLEANIN!!! With a full Battlefoam and GW case it's safe to say this project has reached completion with the exception of a few possible additions. In the meantime I'm getting into Horus Heresy so I need some extra cash so I'm having a clean out of all my old models, sadly they have been damaged in storage but can be repaired or used as a base for your own conversions.
Fair enough! Iron Warriors are cooler, but I can get behind Thousand Sons. I have the plastic Ahriman, if you're interested in him and/or Geigor! Got the Custodes, too.
COME AND VISIT GROTSKULL'S WORKSHOP! I've decided to start my own Facebook page called "Grotskull's Workshop" where I'll be uploading all my past, present and future hobby work as well as announcing conversion commissions. I'll still be updating this blog, just a later on.
So if you like my work and wish to support me directly, click the link below and give the page a like. Make sure to follow me as well as I'm currently doing a Grot week uploading each section of my vast gretchin army and finishing the week off with the reveal of a brand new unit.
FIRING MA LAZER! I decided to use a big tesla cannon to represent an Imperial Guard Medusa, the idea based on how the grots could focus the beam for a smaller blast that could prove deadly to tanks i.e. the siege shells. The tiny grot mek picking out targets and firing the main gun with a hand held switch.
The main gun has been kicking around my bits box for some time as it was originally going to be a void shield generator, it was easy to turn it into a super weapon.
WE WILL, WE WILL ROK U!!! But here's the real star of the show, inspired by the 40k audiobook “The Klaw Of Mork” where Bad Moon Orks have have built a huge tractor cannon to pull down a comet to smash humies. I thought to myself “that would be the perfect Deathstrike proxy, must better than putting a NUKE ON THE FRONT LINES!”
So being the clever grot mek I was I decided to shrink it down and make a mobile version, designed to drag down a comet to crush the enemy with. This also suits the one shot nature as it will never have the time to lock on to and drag another comet down on to the enemy army.
With luck this baby will be ready for the next 40k campaign weekend at Warhammer World.

Camkhieri: "And another very cool thing, my phones predictive text actually gave me chicken as an option after typing robot, how cool is that."'
Meercat: "All eyes turned to the horizon and beheld, in lonely and menacing grandeur, the silhouette of a single Grot robot chicken; a portent of evil days to come."

DA FIRZT BATTLE REPORT; WE'Z ON UTUBE!!! I'm pleased to announce the uploading of the Grot Rebelz first Battle Report, so if you've ever wanted to see my Grot Rebelz in action now you can.
Special thanks to Geeks Wargaming for giving the grots a good fight.
PREPARE FOR A GROT WAAAAAGH!!!! Well looks like I'll be returning to the Grots to gear them up for 8th later this month. First off I'll be changing the Doom-vee's turrets to represent Tauroxs instead of Chimeras. On top of that the grots will be getting some new units....
MEGA ARMOURED GRETCHIN! This conversion has been sitting on and off the hobby station but never built. Due to the Scions getting a huge points drop, the Ard Grots will be joining the ranks of the rebellion very soon. the right arm will have their weapon on and the other something sharp?
DOOM DIVERZ COME TA40K! When I first started the Grots years ago my Basilisk was a mobile Grot Bomb Nasa rocket platform. Time to redo the idea for the new Waaagh in the form of the Doom Diver platform!
Using the Blood Bowl Goblins and attaching rockets to them, they'd be raised onto the runway platform on top of the tank via a lift and launch themselves at the enemy.
WE NEED UR THINKIN CAPZ TO RECRUIT A NEW WARBAND TODA REBEL CAUZ! With changes to the guard army list I'll be needing more bodies for 8th edition so I'm brainstorming ideas for rebel gretchin Warbands/squads.
Ideas so far consist of mega armoured grots and a Overwatch Junkrat themed mortar team. I will however likely be needing another 1 or 2 infantry squads and that's where you come in...
I'd like your suggestions for a gretchin Warband? Please mention their name, brief background and conversion theme?
GAZZA STRIPBOLT, EAD MEK OF DA REVALOUSHUN!!! This ere is Gazza Stripbolt, he's been with the rebellion since it started and is the comic. Under all those robes he's more machine then gretchin.
In the new army list he's likely going to represent a master of ordnance or sometimes a company commander.
