I was going for 'Yin-dij' (as in Indigenous), however, the prospect of being able to model one wearing a fedora has me changing my tune!

Well, this is the first Kickstarter I've jumped into. I really like the clean designs of the figs and the scenery. I pledged for the Strike Force level and I'm starting to sift through my old gaming stuff and deciding what to start selling off to make sure I can finance my pledge. I'm also hoping that if this is simple enough, I might be able to get my family members interested in trying it as a family night game. We'll see!

If the Teraton brawler is much bigger than the dreadball minis it will suggest it's a female

(mantic has said in the past female teratons are about 3x the size of males.. not clear if that's by weight, height or volume)

"Indigenous."

I also hope Teraton is nice reference to certain Star Wars fans...

Grogun's role seems similar to a certain Wookiee's role in Star Wars, doesn't it?

Though Mantic really should have had that update yesterday.

It has something to do with Sci Fi's oldest pissing match.

If its anything like Dreadball (and the rules would suggest yes!!) very family welcome and appropriate.

Have they made any mention in the comments section about the 'wave of stretch goals' that we were supposed to get yesterday?

Indeed it is and they must do something soon, would be a shame to lose momentum.

I'm going to try to not get bored unless they don't show us something on Monday. Today's pledging has stagnated pretty hard too.

The main thing I got out of these most recent stretch goals is that the models that I thought were already in the starter kits were, in fact, just drawn there but not actually included already. Once the Yndij gets added in, will we have everything that was drawn funded? Other than that, I'm not really concerned about the stretches being a bit tame over the weekend. I'm guessing most of the people involved aren't working until Monday anyways.

Considering that the only busy day on a weekend tends to be Friday evening when people have gotten home from work and have a paycheck in the bank, this isn't too terrible in terms of slowdown. And with the smaller stretches they've actually been achieving about 1 stretch per day. Had they kept up the $25k stretches, the Saturday/Sunday slowdown would probably only see us unlocking it by Monday.

Instead we finished up the Campaign stretch, saw the SW plastic board revealed and are within spitting distance of the Yndij stretch. I am surprised people haven't copped to the trend from every kickstarter yet. Pledges go down on weekends, dip during mid-week and take an upswing during Fridays. This is the normal ebb and flow, not stagnation.

Considering that during the week we were averaging a stretch goal every other day, a weekend in which we hit two is actually a pretty good pace (made possible, of course, by making them sprints). Mantic don't need to do anything other than what they were doing. And making short goals on the weekends is actually a good way to alleviate the usual stretch-boredom on weekends as the project slowly ticks toward a full-sized stretch goal. Because they kept things short and sweet we received more updates than we would have otherwise expected during the week.

It's funny how these "oh my god [companyName] needs to do something now or they'll lose momentum!" spring up during the weekend after the initial week of a KS campaign. I can almost time a watch to 'em.

I know I tend to monitor things less during weekends (smart phones have made it too easy to keep me updated during the week, while I'm at work). Hell as we speak I am alt-tabbing in to an MMO and being a generally lazy bugger. The only time I check KS is when my phone pings with an update (and even then I usually wait half an hour before actually reading it). After the Friday rush I tend not to expect many KS updates (especially when they have a long weekend in the country of origin), so Mantic is surprising me with so many updates over the last couple days.

Could it be that cross promotion has shot mantic in the foot? peoples money is finite not infinite. Seems like over 15K went over to the cross promotion and that is 15k+ less for Deadzone kickstarter. Though I could be wrong!

Just a general question. I haven't kept afoot of Mantic's other KS's... have they been generally on time? Should I read December 2013 to mean April 2014?

DreadBall shipped on-time for most backers and early for some. Season 2 was to come out in Q2 and started shipping the end of April. I gather Kings of War is doing similar. They seem to have a good handle on what is possible.

I see it keeping just a bit ahead of "treading water" levels of growth until Wednesday when the terrain-only pledges are supposed to be added. Once the momentum from that and associated stretch goals being broken fades, it will be interesting to see what Mantic has planned for the final couple weeks.
